I began shopping around to have some custom work done to a Benelli. OC Outdoors had the kindest staff I have ever come across when dealing with Firearm retailers in Southern California. Every other gunsmith I spoke with attempted to price gouge the hell out of me. Parts, labor, etc. OC Outdoors had reasonable prices and an exquisite level of knowledge with regard to firearms I have yet to come across in this State. I have been a Firearms Instructor for 13 years and it is always nice to cross paths with people that also have a great deal of experience in this field but manage to remain humble. These guys are absolute creeps. Some old guy who claimed to be the manager called and harrased me over and over after I told him he had the wrong number. I recently got this number and it's recycled through metro. But this dude is too dense to realise that. I asked him to leave me alone and stopped harassing me because I didn't know the person he was trying to get ahold of and he threatened to have me arrested. I asked him to leave me alone and he continued to call me over and over. I called the store and asked to speak with a manager and he answered "hello this is your harasser" I would not feel safe doing business here. Went in on a Saturday afternoon just to check them out. Having purchased several guns from Ammo Bros. I wanted to go elsewhere due to the rude manager at Ammo Bros. in Santa Ana. I went after work and the place was busy; however, the sales people were fast in helping customers. I spoke with Steve who I found out was also the owner. Steve was very knowledgeable and helped with finding concealable compact pistol. He showed me a Glock 26 which I quickly gravitated to. I purchased it for less than Other dealers were selling it for. Great experience purchasing firearm. Steve the owner helped me huge when I went in. Told him the gun I had wanted, which was was a long shot of getting with all the shops being bare recently; however he went to the back area and found me the closest thing to the model I wanted. Gave me some info on it and turned out to be exactly what I needed! I appreciate going the extra mile when I could've just as easily been brushed off. He was also great to converse with throughout the process. We got the paperwork done easily, and went back today after my 10-day waiting period to pick it up without incident. Didn't catch the name of the person who helped me today but he was knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer all my questions no problems. I had a horrible experience with Steve and OC Outdoors right before the SHOT show. With it coming up I thought I'd warn everyone...I got a brand new never fired still in the box revolver from Smith and Wesson. I had to wait 10 days to get it because of CA's waiting period. When I returned to OC Outdoors, the gun was all scratched up, the screws for the sights were all marked up like someone tried to adjust them too much. And this was a gun from Performance Center which is Smith and Wesson's custom shop. Nothing leaves there with marks and scratches, and I looked over the gun with a fine tooth comb before I left it at OC Outdoors. When I showed Steve and one of his employees they made up excuses even though I showed them all the scratches and had pictures to show they weren't there when I dropped the gun off 10 days earlier...I will never ever go back there and I'll tell everyone I know not to either. read more

Best place in OC. This place has limited items since they are more of an internet order place but they have something out her sites don't. They have the MOST OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN CALIFORNIA. I went in with my wife and three kids, all the sales men lady were outstanding in helping my wife lurches her first gun ever, we spent over two hours making surely wife felt that the purchased that she was making was the one she wanted. At one point a lot of people came in and I told them to go ahead and help the other people but the gentleman stated that they are her to help one customer at a time and is napping to continue to help my wife get what she feels she like and she did. Went to the store today 1-2-15 (first visit). Drove up they had a "half day" sign up. I had opend my door befor I noticed the sign. Hurd people inside decided to try the door see of they were still open. As I got to the door there were people inside laughing telling a dog to "get him yea haha get him". This has nothing to do with there prices or customer service. I was in the store today and had to listen to the owner (who appears rather nice with his slicked back blonde hair and gut) yell and swear at his 25 year old female employ. It was very uncomfortable for everyone who was in the store. All because he had to go ask her what the price of a gun was? I know people have bad days but this was pretty ridiculous to do. The young female employ came out of the back with her eyes swelled up and tried to help the next customer. The fat owner needs to remember he is running a business not in a damn war zone where every second could mean the difference between life and death. Hands down the best gun shop I have ever had the pleasure to deal with (never going to Turner's again!). They are VERY knowledgeable, friendly, and enthused to help with whatever you need. They are more than happy to do whatever they can (within the confines of the law) to help you get whatever rare or unique gun your heart desires. Their in-store inventory is small, so I wouldn't particularly go there to "browse", but check out their website and keep in mind that they can get anything on there in store! (I order online in advance). They have a Class 2 and 7 license, which lets them get all kinds of fun things in house for LEOs or other authorized purchasers, but they were super nice and let even us average Joes check out some of the cool stuff hanging on the wall. They also issue FSCs and facilitate PPTs, and will even take delivery of bulk ammo purchases for you, I was told. They were very helpful when SSE was a thing and are working on a process to bring something similar back. They are VERY knowledgeable on the law (active on CalGuns, and ATF was auditing the week that I went in and even complimented them) and exactly what is and isn't legal... and will help you out as much as possible to stay within the gray. I have and will continue to recommend OC Firearms to anyone who asks! read more

Today I walked in the store ready to buy my first gun. There were three staff working but no one said anything to me when I walked in but all good, they were with customers. So I waited for about 10 -15 mins for the staff to finish up with their customers. Then two staff freed up at about the same time but both still didnt acknowledge me. One even walked right past me and just announced he was off to walk the dog. I then started to walk up to the counter and the other staff just turned around to do whatever he had to do, def not interested in my business. Spent another few awkward moments in the store (keep in mind I was the only customer that walked in that whole time), so then I Ieft and headed to Rifle Gear and they greeted me in the door, gave great customer service and I made my purchase. read more

They have good prices and as mentioned in other reviews, they are happy to order something for you if they don't have it in stock. Don't let their small shop front and slim selections deter you from doing business, they have a ware house and have access to pretty much any handguns your heart may desire, and they are very knowledgeable with Single Shot Exemption, which will be expiring 12/31/2014. Went to OCF based on all the yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. Great guys and amazingly helpful. I had sent my slide out for some warranty repair and it had come back to me not in the best condition. So I took my Glock down to OCF and they were so understanding of my frustration they dropped everything and worked on my gun. I expected to leave my gun but instead I was out in 10 minutes. I worked with Matt (I believe the owner), and he was fantastic. Spent at least an hour with me working on some rifle, and shotgun questions I had. This guy is the real deal and truly cares. A gun store with excellent customer service? Yes, they do exist and OC Firearms is THE best store in terms of customer service that I've dealt with. Some stores can feel daunting with people making you feel really stupid for asking basic questions. I've emailed Steve about some transfer questions, multiple times, and he always answers them without issue. I've also called and spoken to him and he's really the nicest gun store owner ever. I went in for a SSE transfer and Mike helped me with the process. He's pretty damn awesome too. We had a conversation about CZs during the whole time I was filling out paperwork and he finished the DROS really fast. It's a 20 mile drive for me, but due to their customer service, I wholeheartedly recommend OC Firearms to anybody. It's worth the drive. read more

Plain ole' friendly here. Both times I've walked in, it was always busy, and now I see why. They just have great staff here. Called in regarding a consignment item and never had anyone give me attitude and they would always answer my questions. As far as going in and doing all the paperwork, it was straightforward and easy with Wes' help. Going back in to pick it up was just as easy and Matt took care of me then.
