That way all of us have continued practical access to pretty much whatever kind of ammo we need. The real danger in CA isn't that guns or ammo will be completely outlawed; it's that they make it so burdensome that the businesses decide to close up shop because they can't make any money. Fair pricing, but the downside that I noticed is this location doesn't offer any type of military or public service discount. For those of us who shoot a lot, it's helpful to cut costs where we can. I've been at LAX ammo OC many times and my customer service experiences also vary. The good positive shopping experience should come from all employees not just one employee. One suggestion for the owner would be to consider offering atleast a small discount for first responders such as police, firefighters, EMS personnel and U.S. military veterans. This review is not an indictment of the store itself, nor the employees. On the contrary, the store is a nice place to shop, with friendly people, and a decent selection of ammo, and accessories....HOWEVER! Beware of the remanufactured ammo. I'm not sure where or how their ammo is reloaded, but the 400 rounds of 45-70gov ammo I purchased, and ultimately paid almost $1000 for (including the CA sin tax), is absolutely worthless!! Most of the brass is also unusable due to a massive amount deformation caused by expansion against the unburned powder left in the chamber and barrel of the rifle. This ammo was tested using a brand new Ruger manufactured Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 lever gun, and barely able to hold a 10" "group" at 100 yards, and some rounds completely missing a 12" target. I tested with 100 rounds of the LAX "ammo" thinking there may be an issue with the rifle, cleaning the barrel every 20 or so. The chrono I used was a Garmin Xero C1 pro. The ammo spread was 331-338 ft/sec with low of 1696 ft/sec and high of 2028 ft/sec on the session recorded in the picture below! All the other tests were similar or worse. In Contrast, I've since purchased 3 different brands of Factory ammo and confirmed it definitely ISN'T the firearm that is the problem. Just to shorten up this review, I'll attach a sample of chrono results of the other three ammo brands tested, and you can look at the results yourself. Obviously reman ammo isn't going to be as good as factory ammo, but I'd do better using a slingshot than shooting this ammo! I'll post a follow up target of the factory ammo soon, just as verification it isn't the rifle or the shooter that's the issue. read more

Came here yesterday to pick up some ammo. These guys run their system a little different but it seems really efficient. They do the background check right off the bat, then you get whatever you're looking for from their huge selection of products and then pay and be on your way. I came in here a couple of months ago to get some range ammo. After talking with one of the staff members he brought up a good point I didn't think of. If I'm practicing with range ammo but my home defense ammo is different, how good will I be? I was trying to save money but I'm glad he made that suggestion. I finally made it to the range recently and tried out the four different suggestions he recommended. I'm glad I did since there was a noticeable difference. I know the majority of the variation in patterns was me but I did narrow it down to a couple of choices. Wow. So it has been 4 months since my last review... doesn't help with quarantine and all keeping many from venturing out! Anyways, I discovered this store while I was in OC and decided to look for places to buy ammo as all the stores near me are completely sold out!! Yelp lead me here and they did not steer me wrong!! This store sells only ammo and some basic supplies, buy mostly ammo. Do NOT come here to buy a gun because they do not sell any!! Anyways, they are pretty well stocked on ammo, and yes, prices are much higher than pre-pandemic times, but if you need ammo, you do not have much choice. Follow them on instragram to see when their new shipments come in. The worker told me they get new shipments probably 3 times a week. Also, do not come to buy ammo if you do not already own a gun because you cannot do that! They have all sorts of ammo in all grain sizes and calipers. If you want special bullets, they are at the front. Those can run a heafty price tag at well over $1 a bullet, upwards of $2-3 even. If you are looking to save a few bucks, you can buy the store brand, which comes in 500 count and an ammo box for $355. Other bullets range from 60cents and up. The workers here are friendly and helpful. They made the process quick and easy. They check your ID at the door and enter in the information. I am guessing to do the ID check. If you are cleared, $1 is added to your total for the background check. The line can get long, since they seem to be the only store with any sort of stock. However, the line moves fairly quickly. When I went, the line was around the corner of the building, but I was able to get in in about 30 minutes. A previous time I went, there was no line at all. If you do not want to wait, I suggest going on a weekday. I waited in line when I went on a Saturday. If I need more ammo in the future, I will be coming here for sure!! read more

I had such a great experience here. Robert is great. I went in looking for a safe, knowing absolutely nothing. There was no pressure, just good information. I ended up getting a vaultek safe with Bluetooth, which wasn't something I knew I wanted until I saw it. Pay the extra $15 for Bluetooth. Me and my buddy went to get some ammo for our range day. The guy behind the counter was a complete jerk. I was informing my buddy what he needs. The associate thinks it was for me. Which it was actually for my buddy. Minded we both gave our IDs and have our records from previous times. The cost of ammo is a little pricier than other places. While the rest of the country and literally the entire world is trying to help each other, this place decides to get greedy and capitalize on the situation. I drove an hour to the store because of an instagram post they made saying they have bulk ammo.
