I would often drive by this place, and this place intrigued me so I decided to walk in here today as I was searching for a DMV kiosk at the local Ralph's. I saw a sign that says to use the back door as an entrance. I was a bit cautious and then I saw these two chihuahua dogs. One of them had a cute little security dog uniform on. There's even little couches for them. I went in and looked around in amazement. I met with Steve, and he told me that the dogs are just part of security and not to worry about them. The dogs aren't vicious, and one of them allowed me to pet them. Steve and I talked about several weapons, and Steve was incredibly knowledgeable on weapons and the laws in the U.S. I told Steve that I have a history of suicidal ideation as an autistic woman, so a gun is probably not the best option for me. The customer service at Ade's Gun Shop is on a completely different level. Navigating the compliance market as a first-time rifle buyer can be a massive headache but Steve completely eliminated the friction. He is an incredibly knowledgeable guy who patiently walked me through the entire manual of arms and broke down the mechanics of the hardware and easily kept up with the banter between me and my friend. The shop's AR-15 selection might look a bit lean at first glance, but they surprisingly had the exact featureless Springfield Saint I came hunting for. Love this place. I hadn't been in for a while, but when I called them and asked if they were able to do a large PPT (5 guns) after Turners essentially told me to pound sand, they were able to get me in with no appointment. It's a lot of work to do that large of a transfer, and it all went smoothly and about as quickly as it could. I also had a great time browsing their selection of milsurp rifles, and got myself a rifle I've been looking for for a while to continue building my collection. Overall it's so nice to find a store that actually cares about their customers, and has great service and great people working there. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Came in to look for a 1911 They showed me their options and were helpful And I wound up making a purchase. I had earlier gone to Turners where they acted like I was bothering them and just want you to buy anything and leave- At Ades they are a little more expensive but they are cheerful and will take whatever time you need to understand your purchase and help with the paperwork- It's small, parking very limited about four cars but park down a side street and it's easier getting in and out- If you haven't been in a while, they remodeled and it looks great with a lot more product. He made the entire transaction completely painless for me. The fee was entirely appropriate in light of the service level. What a difference from so many other gun shops, where you feel you are a burden to the owners or retail personnel, where the retail personnel often lack knowledge of firearms and ammunition, and where you never get an answer to a call or email! On 4/20/2020 I took my written test for a gun license. Only been here once but in my experience so far everyone at the shop I've spoken to were friendly. The written test cost 25$ and expire in 5 years. Their gun inventory was lacking due to so many people making purchases. I will return once their inventory has been restocked. Absolutely horrible. As first time gun buyers, they took advantage of my wife and I by selling us a used firearm with holster ware at full msrp just because they knew we were in desperate need of the gun and were totally naive to the whole gun buying process. Ultimately it's our job as the consumer to not overpay or to inspect the gun before purchase but we were totally naive in expecting them to take care of us and not take advantage of us as firsts time gun buyers. If you've purchased firearms before, this place might be ok but, to us, a business' moral integrity and character reigns supreme in deciding on who to shop from and this shop failed miserably on those qualities. I forgot to mention that they said they'd include a box of ammo to help offset the high price they were charging us so when we asked for it before we walked out the door they brought us a 20 round box of an off-brand 9mm ammo that was 85 grain and copper. Not a single round cycled through the 4 pistols we had at the range that day. They'd either jam, not eject or not fire at all. Anyhow, that was a while ago and we've learned a lot since then (and the owners of several more pistols, several AR's and tons of training) and are glad to say that we've found plenty of awesome gun/ammo stores in Orange County and have encouraged numerous new shooters to steer clear of Ade's. I've been looking for a place to purchase my first firearms and would definitely recommend this shop. The shop felt very homey and welcoming. The entrance to the parking at the back of the shop is easily missed when its your first time visiting. I worked mainly with Steve but I also got to meet the owner Emily (and her adorable fur babies), both were super friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Steve was able to walk me through the entire process and answered all of my questions, made it completely hassle-free. I was able to put the beretta and 308 on layaway and made monthly payments, which was a great option they offered. On the day of picking them up, Steve was able to show me how to properly take both firearms apart and showed me the components that needed to be cleaned. I also picked up extra ammo, magazines, and eyes/ear protection. Will definitely return for more ammo and my future firearm purchases!!! read more
