Dr. Khorashadi has been the pediatrician for my son, Adoriyan (8), and my daughter, Atrin (6), for the past eight years. To our family, she is much more than just a pediatrician--she is a guardian angel. Her expertise and early diagnosis were life-changing for my son; she recognized very early on that he needed support and guided us toward Speech and ABA therapy. We like the doctors at Coastal Kids and have been happy with their care. However, we have had multiple negative experiences with the nurses who administer vaccines. We have previously raised concerns about vaccine administration practices, but unfortunately little seems to have changed. My baby daughter developed a painful lump after a vaccination that lasted for nearly two months. Most recently, during a vaccine appointment yesterday, a nurse accidentally scratched my daughter's leg with the syringe after administering the shot. We do not want to switch pediatricians because we value our doctors, but we hope Coastal Kids takes these concerns seriously and provides additional training and oversight for staff who administer vaccines. No parent wants to see their child experience unnecessary pain or complications, and we hope improvements can be made to prevent other families from having similar experiences. read more

We've come here a few times recently after my child's doctor moved offices into this coastal kids' location. The building had ample parking and an elevator, coastal kids is on the third floor. The offices are clean and the coastal kids don't staff are so great with their service. They have kids' movies playing in the waiting area, and everything is well kept. I'm glad he doctor moved into this building because it's actually much nicer than her previous office. Overall great experience and Dr. Korashadi and her staff are amazing. They have a pretty cool fishtail on the first floor lobby as well with some huge fish! read more

My son has been an established patient since he was 2 months old with Dr. Bui, and she has been great. This review is for Dr. Leon at the Pacifica location. If you truly care about the well-being of your child, avoid Dr. Leon at all cost. Over the weekend, by 16 month old son started wheezing extremely loud, and I started getting worried that he was struggling to catch his breath. Because there were no other symptoms, and his oxygen levels were normal at home, I decided to make an appointment. Dr. Bui did not have availability (as usual), but Dr. Leon had availability just an hour later. We took it. When I arrived, it took about 30 minute before we were seen. When the nurse was taking vitals, we both noticed that my sons oxygen levels were reading in the mid-80's. I started panicking as the nurse continued to get readings, finally reaching 95 before it dipped back down to the 80's. She said it must be the machine not working properly, and I still felt uneasy. A second machine was brought in, and we got the same readings. The assistant told me she would speak with the doctor. When Dr. Leon came in, I explained to her the situation we were in. She asked me a couple of questions and if there was a family history of asthma, I told her I'm asthmatic. She then proceeded to check his lungs and said everything sounded clear. Her only advice was to keep an eye on his wheezing. My issue with Dr. Leon is that she has no bedside manner. The entire I was in the room, she just looked like she was bored and rather be doing something else. Even after I expressed my concern about the low oxygen readings the machine was reading, she said it was just a malfunctioning device. She failed to give any possible reasons about what could be causing the wheezing, and chalked it up to "he probably likes making that noise". I was livid. She failed to show empathy and come up with a plan of action, and also failed at reassuring a worried mom. I felt completely panicked and angry after she left the room. After telling the assistant how unhappy I was, I decided to leave and take my son to urgent care, where a possible reason was asthma due to my family history. He was prescribed a nebulizer (and the machine) and is showing improvement after the first use. Dr. Leon should look into a specialty change. read more

If you're considering this medical office for your kids just know it's really hard to get to them to schedule an appointment or find out about results. I had been with Dr Khorashadi at a different office before and I didn't have to wait so long on the phone to get an appointment or a call back. In this office when you select the call back option on the waiting system they'll and Hang up right away they don't wait for you to pick up the phone and it's hard to be 15-20min waiting on the phone when you have kids especially if they're not feeling well. My son isn't feeling so good today I've been trying to get an appointment since yesterday. Although he isn't feeling good today again I don't consider it an emergency just yet, either way and I'm thinking I might have to take him to an urgent care because it's impossible to get an appointment here. Kinda sucks! If you're considering this office (and all locations are the same, they're all booked apparently) Just be ready for the long waits to get appointments or to get on the phone with them even. read more

What a shame. My whole family( cousins included) have been patients of dr a below it's for 25 some odd years. Back when it was one office in Newport Beach. The corporate greed and lack of care has officially taken hold here. Multiple offices, revolving doors with staff and doctors, obviously unhappy staff that can care less about their jobs or their patients. I should have known better then to continue as a patient. I am the patient that just left the credit card on file, with insurance or not, I trusted. BETRaYED. They are not in the business of healing, they are in the business of steeling. Keep your receipts, record your phone calls, document your visits. They say the bill insurance and they don't. Every time I go I get a bill above and beyond what I am supposed to pay( office visit 1761 dollars), ya right!!! Then try to get a hold of someone's and when you do you at spoken down to. Then the mistake is found, no apology, just "we will call you back, then the bill magically turns to zero Ya. You can keep your slimy greedy business model for yourself. No longer patient centered. Again. What a shame. Dr abelowitz, though your probably too busy to notice, or read this message, I know medicine has changed, I know I can't expect more then 5-10 minutes after waiting for an hour for a appointment that was made weeks in advance. Why do you continue to grow your business if you are not really trying to be a health care provider anymore. The lines have been blurred for sure. For the prospective patients, do your research, try to see the same Doctor twice, you can't. You will Likely see a PA because that's all they will give you, because they care so much about your kids Try to get strait forward billing, you can't , because they don't know what they are doing either. I would not recommend Coastal Kids at all. 1) It's takes too long to connect with someone to make an appointment. We played phone tag all day. Especially with a baby and toddler, I couldn't just wait on hold for 40 minutes. 2) I'd have my appointment set a month in advance normally and I'd be left with a voicemail saying that Dr. Khorashadi was leaving on vacation and had to cancel my appointment. Again, needing to play phone tag just to reschedule. Sometimes took two days... Why couldn't this be handled on their end and just tell me another doctor was going to fill in instead. 3) The last appointment that made me leave Coastal Kids for good... my 12 month old's appointment scheduled at 10:30am and I thought it was at 10am so I showed up a bit earlier which was not a problem. The real problem- they called us into the room at 10:12am. The nurse did the typical work before Dr. Khorashadi shows up. Took about 5 minutes and the nurse leaves. We are waiting in the room until almost 11:40am. I had to go out and ask what the status was with Khorashadi and was told there was still two patients ahead of me. They offered another Dr to assist me but couldn't tell me when they'd be available. I know the nurse was trying his best to have my baby be seen, so I said I'd wait another 5-10 minutes. I understand that it's busy but this seemed pretty excessive... and don't call us into the room so early if that's the case. I am so patient but I was absolutely frustrated with this place. My kids had better care at the dentist... why? If you are in the Mission Viejo, Lake Forest Area, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ABC Children's Clinic in Foothill Ranch. First time patients to coastal kids spectrum location since moving to Orange County . The Clinic is clean and has a sick entry and a well entry side. Kid friendly sea paintings on the walls. Front office staff is welcoming and helpful especially Adriana and Jessica at the front desk reception. Run away, that's what we were doing anyway. This is a corporation first and foremost, not the friendliest and most flexible practice as a result. We took our first born there for 2 years, we saw Dr. Khorashadi mainly. We are pro vaccine but he had a febrile seizure the week he got his first vaccine, it was scary, and since then he gets temperatures of up to 104 with almost every vaccine. Therefore, we ppted to do vaccines on a delayed schduled. I am a medical doctor myself and believe vaccines have their usage and help protect the public but we also saw first hand something that NEVER occured in our child until his first vaccine administer. We ended up on the hospital, he stopped breathing for 30 seconds, it was scary even for me as a doctor, and so am not the type to take him to ER or hospitals unless in absolutely necessary. Luckily he fully recovered, we continued our vaccines slowly, he did fine over 2.5 years, he was up to date for preschool except for varicella, or so we thought, they said he also needs Hep B. We had 3 weeks until his school year started and did the varicella and asked Dr Dr. Khorashadi to do short term exemption for like 60 days on Hep B so we can space it out. As a medical doctor to doctor, I was surprised she gave me the run around. She knows there is a special process for this, you can't just write a letter like she did, you have to go through the state of Ca dept of health website and make an official certification just like I do all the time for disability certifications through the state website. My wife addressed this issue at the same appointment and she said well we are going to have to provide titers etc we said no problem we can give blood, we know he doesn't have antibodies etc but even so she indirectly declined. I sent emails and hospital records and they still declined with the culmination right now of recieving a call from their staff stating they cannot and stating "we are pro vaccine." What the hell is that? We were already switching groups to Hoag Pediatric for our toddler and new child on the way but this was absurd. Corporations deciding policies for individual families is not gonna work, it was a unique situation and we needed our pediatrician of 2.5 years to provide us with 60 days stay of the Hepatitis B vaccine, that treated us like we are worthless and anti-vaccination. If you don't like being treated by a corporation with inflexible rules, run away from this group, likely they have other policies that are inflexible and won't help your family when you are in need. Again, I am a medical doctor, I make logical medical decisions, based on facts and science, not an anti-vaccer. How dare your front desk suggest anything otherwise, shame on you guys for not being real pediatricians who protect your patients. You just want patients who are easy and problem free, a typical corporate approach. Hoag pediatrics will be a nice new home for us. Lastly, every doctor we had over the past 2.5 years has steadily left coastal lids, even the pediatricians seem unhappy. Amazing Health care team The office has great customer service! And i have to shout out Lauren the MA whom always is so compassionate with my girls (especially because they are scared of needles & Medical staff in general like most kids) Additionally, the office is always clean and follows all covid-19 protocols, this is huge for me especially because i have family in my household immunocompromised and I appreciate the staff reminding ALL patients and visitors to use a mask especially in the middle of this flu season. My daughters Suemy and Anika are seen by Dr.Kaidi she is always so thourough with answering my questions and concerns regarding my children's health. My child is a patient here . We go to the Newport , Irvine booth and Pacifica did not have bad experience but a week ago we had to wait close to an hour . There were patients who arrived later and we had to wait for them to go first . But this isn't the issue Dr khorshadi has bad manners , will not request this doctor, pretty cold and unprofessional to me . The girls in front are nice. Do not waste your time at this group! Their phone number takes at least 40 min to be picked up (like we parents have the whole day in 2023 to wait that). When you need an appointment, they are always booked and you almost have to beg to get an appointment. Referral's to another doctor is a nightmare, they never check what they are doing. Staff is friendly, But the wait for the doctor to come in is ridiculous. You are enclosed in a small room waiting for a long time with a baby or toddlers. The visits should not take this long for children. You wait a long time to see the doctor and if you need shots you are waiting another 30-45 mins for the nurse to come. They also need to step up their application options. There's no website like my charts to view any medical information. read more

We have seen Dr. Khorashadi for almost 10 years and I dont know what I would have done without her as my children's Pediatrician! She has seen us in the best of health and unfortunately the worst when one time my 4 year old had pretty severe pneumonia and was hospitalized in PICU for 4 of the hardest days of our lives. Dr. Khorashadi has always been a straight shooter but with a gentle bedside manner one would hope for in a Pediatrician. Dr. Khorashadi assisted in diagnosing my older child, my son, with Autism which was an early diagnosis, opening doors to extremely helpful and life changing therapies that sculpted him into the amazing young capable man he is today. We're Dr.Abelowitz's patients for many years now. We always felt like we're in a good hands, getting all the attention we need, getting appointments in a reasonable time & visiting a nice clean clinic. This week I took my 3 kids for their physical with Dr. Nath. She was so nice to the kids (ages 16,14 & 10) explaining every step , advice very professionally about vaccines & vitamins & generally felt very reassured with her checking my kids . Poor communication with front office staffing. I called the front office to let them know I was having trouble finding the location the receptionist said no problem and even called back 4 minutes later to say she can give google directions. I told her no need I found it and parking. When I walked into the office 1 min later they told me I had to possible reschedule or wait for the doctor . After 50 minutes of waiting with a toddler they came out and said they had to reschedule . Couldn't that have been said on the phone? What a waste of time. The first call to them letting them know I was running late because I couldn't find the office they should have communicated that they needed to reschedule. read more

Horrible experience with front desk. I had two very horrible experience with them. First time my son has allergic with red rashes, but it was on and off . when I talked with front desk person to schedule an appt, the lady told me I can't bring my son when there is no rashes, I have to call them when the rashes come back . I asked front desk person can I schedule appointment first and show doctor the pictures of rashes and swelling ? She said no, I can't do that, I can only bring my son in with rashes. Then I asked what if there is no availability when my son rashes back? The lady said then they can't take him. After I get a chance to talk with my doctor , Dr. Khorashadi mentioned what was happened , she said that's wrong information, we can definitely make an appointment first , and show pics to doctor if rashes not showing at the appointment time . Second time my infant daughter has cold + fever we set up an appointment , but my son got sick on that appointment morning too. I called ahead of time ask if I can bring my son into that appointment , to see doctor at the same time. The front desk person said, no. Not available time . I asked her can she please ask doctor to see if it's ok? Because we had the same experience in Irvine booth, it was ok over there . When that front desk person heard that, she response to me very quick "ok then you go check with them!"Then put me on transfer without ask me . People work there are very rude , no empathy, and arrogance. I love coastal kids, but the spectrum location is my last last last choice if there is not availability in other locations. read more

Adela who is my absolute favorite office staff also moved over to Coastal Kids from her old office. We have been with both of them for 19 years and am so happy we will still have both of them at this beautiful new location. I also want to mention that Adela is very helpful with insurance and advice and Dr. Khorashadi is warm, thorough and very patient. This was our first time in their new office in Irvine. The office it's beautiful, inviting and pristine. The staff was incredibly sweet, friendly, respectful and kind. I had the worst experience yesterday at this location. I have been going to coastal kids Newport Beach since my kids were born. I took my teen daughter to her well check appointment as she was due for HPV vaccine. The appointment was rushed and I did not feel a thorough examination and care. The nurse gave my daughter the vaccine and did not advise us to wait in the lobby for 15 mins after. She directed us to leave from the back door and we left right away. We took the elevator to the lobby and my daughter passed out on me and there was no one around. I was screaming and crying for help. No one was there to help me. I dragged my daughter as she kept waking up on me and passing out on the floor 3 times. Finally I managed to take her back up to the office and she passed out again facing down in front of the office door. I was crying and shaking for help. I don't believe they have the proper equipment and training for an emergency situation. Both my daughter and myself were traumatized from the experience. I cannot erase the scene from my head. And me daughter is beyond traumatized from needles now. I am beyond disappointed at myself for allowing this to happen and I'm disappointed at the staff for downgrading the importance of safety and emergencies. read more

My first experience here was terrible. I had to bring my 3 month old son back here unfortunately because his primary was not available and he seemed to be very uncomfortable and not himself so I took the first appointment I could regardless of my last experience here. My son was experiencing a cough, congestion, really warm but no fever, and seemed to be breathing weird and having a bit of trouble. We saw Dr. Ma. I tried explaining to her what was going on and while we were in the room with her my son was coughing and breathing weird. She put it off as his reflux acting up. Later that night we ended up in the ER because my sons oxygen dropped and got a fever. He was also still experiencing all the same symptoms as when we saw Dr. Ma. ER did a nasal swab and sure enough my son had Covid. This is now the SECOND time I have walked away from this office with my son's symptoms being completely dismissed. I am extremely upset over this how am I supposed to trust the pediatricians at this office if they are going to misdiagnose my baby 2 times in a row. I am pissed off that this doctor didn't even suggest a Covid, RSV, or flu testing, but simply she defaulted to my Son's reflux, which was not an issue that day since he is on meds for it and I told the doctor that. She let my son leave the office sick and then having him struggle throughout the day until enough was enough and I took him to the ER. I thought I would be able to trust in what a pediatrician is telling me about my baby, but I was wrong. When I called coastal kids to schedule a follow up visit with his primary for next week I asked what Dr. Ma had noted on my son's visit with her and they advised me that she noted my son was fine and symptoms were normal.
