We made fresh poke bowls at home with mango... worked out great with such excellent fish!

Really growing to love this service. Ahi has been on point! 4 stars only because we've only tried it twice.

    FRESH Blue Fin

Review from August 2020. Just realized I didn't put my Facebook post (review) on Yelp ... I wish I could slice sashimi like a sushi chef ‍... but you get the idea Those of you who know anything about sashimi, this is clearly sashimi grade. It was freaking FANTASTIC... SUPER fresh (never frozen) and totally like butter ... if I were you, I'd order STAT cuz they're catchin' blue fin!!! (My fave) and I'm a total fan and believer of the quality put out by OC Wild Seafood. This blue fin was a great price at $19/lb. We easily polished off 1 lb for two consecutive nights... Can't wait to order again!! Who'd ever think that fish like this could be delivered FREE to your doorstep!!! ‍ (there's a delivery charge to some cities, but HB is FREE!!) Check out the website and set yourself up to get emails so they can notify you as soon as the catch comes in!! You're Welcome!

    Boiled Box crabs

With the stay-at-home order past the month mark, my family decided to add some excitement to our Friday night in quarantine by splurging on some box crabs from this local fishing company we found on Facebook. We ordered 8 crabs, one for each family member. They were large - about 2.5 pounds each. After boiling them, we brought out the paper towels and got to work cracking the shells to get the meat out. It took a lot of work but the meat was delicious. This company is a great option for fresh fish/seafood. Go to their website to see the latest catch.

    Bluefin and halibut

We had fish delivered to our door! We usually get it at the farmers market but they have delivery on Thursday! We ordered bluefin and halibut and will marinate both and throw them on the grill later when it stops raining.

I want to give it 10 stars. The best halibut I have ever had so far. The recipe is "Halibut Creole," which is on the Fannie Farmer Cookbook. I keep cooking this for years since I believe this is the best way to enjoy the fish's genuine flavor itself. Halibut usually cost at least 24 or more per pound if you wish for decent - acceptable - quality. I almost did not want to share this review because I just wanted to keep it my secret. - It is juicy and flavorful.

I love seafood and I love it when it's it fresh and reasonably priced ! My eyes used to water looking at Santa Monica seafood which is where I would say is high quality seafood as well. BUT they are pricey. I hate writing this review because now my favorite place will be so popular that I can't hardly order my favorites in time before it is sold out ! This is the case for the box crab . Best crab I've ever eaten ! Yesterday I finally had some of the crab I've been waiting for over a year . The sweetest crab meat that come off in huge chunks, unlike most crab that you eat . A little work to get the meat but nothing like a regular crab . Pound to shell , you get so much crab meat . Not as easy as a lobster but ALMOST as easy like a lobster in terms of getting to the meat . $25 per crab . Had hubby cook in a large stockpot with a dash of salt for 10-15 minutes. . Let cool . He takes the crab in a box and hammers enough so there are cracks in the legs that allow you to get to the meat the legs . Then eat away !! All the other seafood I've tried here is excellent as well . Literally he is a fisherman who goes out and catches and sells without the middleman which is why it is priced reasonably. My brother is a major picky foodie who works in the food industry is also a loyal customer. One day I can order enough crab without selling out that I can feed all my favorite people. Dreams can come true !!

    Fresh local box crab

Fresh local seafood, love it! Get on their text notifications so you know what's coming in that week! The box crabs are sweet and meaty, don't even need the butter. Can't get enough!

    poached halibut

I ordered some halibut. OC Wild Seafood has an amazing system and product. The website is easy to use - the followup with texts to advise delivery is great. But then there is the fish - WOW - we have beautiful fillets - FRESH - refrigerated not frozen. Tonight my wife did a wonderful poaching of the halibut. The fish was high quality - fresh - great price - delivered to our door. I highly recommend!

There's usually a line, but it moves quickly. You order and pay at the door, and they call your name when your order is ready. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. It's a little more expensive than some other poke spots, but we think it's worth it. You can really taste the freshness of the fish, and the flavors are delicious. You can build your own bowl or choose from one of their preset options. It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall spot with a few picnic tables if you want to eat there, but we love taking ours to the park. If you're craving fresh, Hawaiian-style poke in Dana Point, definitely give this place a try!

I almost felt like I was back in Hawaii for a sec! FAVORITE ITEMS: - #2 Large. Salmon and ahi tuna. Pretty fresh, and mind you, we came just before closing time. I'd probs stick with the rice over the shredded cabbage. The cabbage gave it a bit of a weird texture personally but it wasn't bad. They do charge you for sides which is a slight bummer but the poke bowls are not terribly expensive so it's ok. I tried the seaweed salad and edamame too - pretty standard sides, nothing too crazy. PARKING: There is a small lot but also street parking right next to the spot. SERVICE: they were really nice, and quite fast! PRICE: about $12.99 for a regular and $16.50 for a large. Overall, pretty solid spot to get your poke at! I'd recommend if you are more into Hawaii style type of poke.

It was only noon, and the food already looked like it had been sitting out for quite some time. The selection at both the hot and cold bars did not look particularly appealing. There were a couple of meat dishes that might have been tempting, but the meat on top of the sauce was visibly dried out and looked like it had not been properly tended to. The employees should be stirring the dishes regularly and making sure the meat stays covered with sauce so that it looks fresh and appetizing. I was actually very hungry, but after looking over the options, there was nothing from either the hot or cold bar that I wanted to eat, so I ended up leaving without getting anything. For a store like Gelson's, I expected the prepared food bars to be much better maintained. The fact that it was only noon and the food already looked this dried out and unappealing was especially disappointing. Hopefully they can pay more attention to the presentation, freshness, and overall care of the food bars.

We happened to stop nearby and decided to look around this plaza. We were starting to get hungry and Glasspar looks like the most appealing option so we decided to check it out. HAPPY HOUR: Mon-Thurs 4:30-6pm, Fri-Sat 4-6pm. Wow what a deal. I normally don't think about happy hour deals on Saturdays but we were pleasantly surprised. It was 5:30pm already so we had to make some quick decisions. Chad was very friendly and helpful with our order. We decided to get a Dozen and a Half Oysters (HH $3/each), an Oyster Shooter (HH $5), Duck Fat French Fries (HH $7), 1/2 lb Steamed Clams (HH $13), and Seafood Poke (HH $12). The specialty cocktails were such a good deal I wanted 2 but asked my boyfriend to order one so I don't look like too much of an alcoholic. I had the White Sangria Spritzer (HH $12) and a G3 (HH $12). Everything came out in a reasonable amount of time and Chad communicated checking on things for us as we were waiting. He was really on top of it. The oysters were awesome! My only regret was not ordering more. For the dozen and a half came with 6 of each of Baracats, Stingrays, and Pacific Plumps. I thought the baracats and stringrays were mild. My favorite was definitely the pacific plumps; it was sweet and creamy with a good bite to it. The shucking was also really well. I just want to give them that credit. The oyster shooter was strong, in a good way. Tasty! The duck fat fries were nice and crispy. It came with a rich truffle aioli. The steamed clams were good, but the slice of bread they gave us with it was burnt to an inedible level. I also would have liked a spoon to sip that garlic white wine and butter liquid. Clams were fresh. The seafood poke came with crispy wonton chips. It was decent. After our original order we decided we wanted to finish off with somethings small, so we got the Clam Chowder ($14). I would have liked it a smidge thicker in texture but the taste and the quality of ingredients are on point. I get the bacon essence and a good amount of clams in the soup too. I'm really glad we added that to our order. I also really like that the check comes in books. Chad told us that we can write a note in it if we want. They look at it like a way to interact with their customers. So cute!! We are DEFINITELY coming back here!! Next time I'll order even more oysters :)
