Mushy pancakes with a weird flavor. No blueberries available for the pancakes, which I found odd. No tomato juice. Also odd for a diner. Lack of seasoning on potatoes but they were nice and crisp. If you're looking for a diner with amazing food, this is the place for you. They have arguably the best onion rings I have ever had. I had to sign a waiver for my burger appellee named the waiver burger. It was juicy messy and absolutely delicious. Their french fries are called S fries because of the shape of them which is very unusual they are absolutely delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. We will be returning there hungry and ready to eat. I recommend this place if you're ever anywhere close. It is worth the trip. read more

On the way home from a quick weekend beach trip and decided to have breakfast before we hit the house. Wife does her Google/Yelp magic and we find this gem. Very retro looking diner decor; very clean and well maintained. Being a little full from the night before, I went with their basic 2-2-2= 2 eggs, choice of 2 bacon or link or patties, and choice of 2 toast, biscuit. Took the bacon - BUT next time will get the sausage. Wife had a waffle platter which is a Belgian waffle, with eggs (and those sausage patties) Eggs were cooked the way we like them (O/E and O/M), the waffle was just the right amount of crisp and my bacon was extra crispy like I asked . Menu had other options including omelets, etc. I did notice some EMS folks getting food to go and some other city workers, so that is usually a good sign. Breakfast for two was $15.......hard to beat in today's world. read more

Overall nice environment so far with friendly staff. The only issue I have so far is that you can't get your order how you want because the computer can not change toppings. They told me that the only way I could get an item changed on my burger is if they went back and told the cook how I wanted. So my first time coming in and ordering an item how I wanted, which was just adding BBQ sauce and a different cheese could not happen because they did not want to go tell a cook how a customer needed his order to complete the customers saisfaction. read more

Terrible experience. We got way off the highway for this spot promising a huge vegan menu. When we got there it was small and fairly busy and NO ONE was wearing a mask. We asked if it would be okay to sit at the one outside table. The waitress said sure. We waited more than 10 minutes and she never came with menus. I went back in and asked again, are you sure it's okay to eat outside. She said yes so I asked if she would bring menus. Five minutes later she brought them and one minute later, before we had time to look she asked us if we were ready to order. We needed a minute. Worst mistake. She didn't come back. We waited another 15 minutes and when we saw through the window other people get seated, given a menu and brought drinks immediately, we left. We have no way of knowing if it was our appearance #maskhaters, #Birkenstockbashers #racist or just that she didn't want to shlep outside #whyyagottablesoutsideifnoonecansitthere. First time diner. Came at noon on Friday and found one Peking place. Place was packed but we got two seats at the counter. We could see all the food being served and the portions are huge. I've driven by this place many times but they were never open. Finally today they were! I had already eaten breakfast but I decided to try their Sweet Potato Pancakes just because. And they were humongous! As I started eating them, however, I was thinking that the texture was very mushy. Never having had a Sweet Potato pancake before I thought maybe it was because of the addition of sweet potato pulp. It wasn't too terribly bad at the edge where I started but as I got closer to the center I realized that this wasn't sweet potato pulp, it was raw batter. The waitress came by and asked me how I was doing and I told her that the flavor of the pancakes was good but they were undercooked. She asked me if I would like a fresh batch and I said, not really. I had never planned to eat all of them to begin with and there was no way that I could start over from scratch. She said the best she could do was take 20% off the charge. I'll never go back there again. You could see, from the cross section of the pancakes, that it was literally raw in the center. They shouldn't have charged me at all. I'm not one to complain and I very rarely, if ever, send something back when dining out but this was one of those times that the food was truly unacceptable. :0( read more

Today I decided to take a friend for breakfast at the Ocala Downtown Diner on the S curve. I had been there several times before and wanted her to try it there. We were greeted immediately by the servers and invited to sit anywhere we wanted. Carina was our server and she was very upbeat, friendly and attentive. I usually have the bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel with the S Curve fries. They are so delicious! But this time I noticed that one of the sides on the board was potato salad. Not liking fresh onions I asked her if they were in the salad and she said no. But she explained that there were 3 kinds of potatoes in it and it is amazing and asked if we wanted to sample it. We said sure and she gave us a small dish of it to try. We were floored! It was absolutely the best potato salad I ever tasted! And I thought I made the best! If you are ever in town please stop in.
