Darrell's Dog Gone Good Diner did us well after our visit to Silver Springs State Park. We went in for lunch at 1:30 PM. We were told we could sit wherever we liked. I ordered the Smashburger special, which came with fries and coleslaw. I paid extra for sweet potato fries. My burger had two thin hand patted pieces of beef with cheese, lettuce, pickles and tomato. The burger was hot, juicy and delicious! And all the fixins were fresh. The coleslaw had more of a vinegar flavor which I liked. And the sweet potato fries were piping hot and yummy! I dipped them in honey. Our server was sweet and attentive. If you are ever in Silver Springs I suggest giving them a try! read more

Wonderful staff. And better than average food. Serves breakfast thru lunch. They are about 1/2 mile from silver springs state park entrance or 3 miles from campground. 2 of us $48 with tip. Sloppy Joe and Philly cheese..both GREAT. read more

Well that was pretty doggone good! We love to pop into a diner and ask for their specialty. Here it's the Rueben with fries and it was perfect! My kid got the pancake with one egg and one bacon. Awesome old style dinner. People were very friendly. I had the Country Fried Steak and Eggs with cheese grits. My wife had scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patties and cheese grits. Our breakfast was delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for breakfast in the area! read more

Ive eaten at this dinner almost every day for a couple months now. I Only get 2 eggs sunny side up with hash browns and bacon with healthy side of cottage cheese almost every time I come in.... Walked in and a waitress was complaining about being tired, 4 waitresses and no one seated us or acknowledged us. I watched them take one item from a table and no came to clean up the table. Visiting a friend from out of town, we popped in here on a recommendation of a mutual friend to grab breakfast. Though crowded, the service was swift and we found a table in a few minutes. The food was good, and served hot. For two hearty eaters, the bill coming to just over $25 was a pretty good bargain. Note: PAY CASH. This was the only place I used my 'travel card' in Florida and someone apparently hiked my CC card digits and attempted to buy a $500 gaming system. Nice (shitty) touch to an otherwise pleasant day. I go here once a week because I like a decent cheese burger. They cook them the way you want and the service is quick. It's a big burger but not too big. They have sweet potato fries too which I like better than regular fries. The prices are decent especially considering what fast food restaurants are charging for their garbage. Formerly long time favorite Stage Stop Diner this is one of Darrell's I've yet to dine at. Their other locations have never let me down so I was eager to try this location. It wasn't very busy and in fact I was the only one in the restaurant. I feel sad that I don't recall my server's name but she was excellent! She was friendly, The food unfortunately was disappointing. The cook was dilly dallying around the kitchen and it took awhile for him to complete the cooking process. Once it arrived I just stared at how bad it looked. The omelet itself was swimming in a pool of grease and the veggies inside had been cooked down separately to barely nothing. Our waitress, Angie, was great! She was attentive, friendly and very helpful while ordering. The concern we had was some of the food. My sweet potato fries were a bit soggy and not hot. The bun for my fish was not fresh. The fish was very good. My husband had the Philly cheesesteak and onion rings. It was very good, but even though the rings were really hot, they were over cooked. Lastly, my friends omelet had unmelted cheeses in the center. The grits, however were as good as they get! It must have been an off day or time for the kitchen. This place was exactly what I look for in a breakfast restaurant. It's very clean, the service is excellent and the food does not disappoint. I had a standard #2 special. 2 eggs over easy, bacon, home-fries and a grilled English muffin. The eggs were fresh and cooked perfectly. The bacon was crisp and most important to me is that the home fries were browned and well seasoned. (Nothing irritates me me than getting home fries that aren't browned. You might as well have boiled potatoes.) Our waitress was authentically friendly and provided excellent customer service. She even asked specifically if I wanted my bacon crisp. We have been dining at this Darrell's location since they opened years ago, and have never been disappointed. We eat there every other Saturday at 10 in the morning. The servers are always outstanding, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. They also introduced a new menu earlier this year, with great new additions like the Great Dane. It's an excellent place to eat, we just wish it would stay open after 3 PM for dinner! If that did happen, we would eat there for dinner too. Their seasonal gift card deals are also great, buying $100 and getting $25 free, essentially getting every fifth meal free! I highly recommend this Darrell's and will continue to eat there. read more
