I live in Honolulu and was going to Maple Ridge to see family & looking for 3 cakes to celebrate 3 birthdays, a gluten free cupcake, a delicious, special birthday cake for my sister & a regular cupcake. I spoke with Sara, a friendly, knowledgeable person. We discussed their popular cakes and I selected their black forest cake because Sara told me the cherries were special and delicious. My niece said that her gluten free chocolate cupcake was moist and had a good texture. I "accidently tasted the buttercream frosting and it was very good. The black forest cake was phenomenal, I have never tasted a better cake, and yes, the cherries were scrumptious! The whipped cream frosting was rich, delicious and tasted like 100% whipped cream. Dark chocolate shavings generously adorned the sides of the cake with plenty of loose shaving to have a taste. All 8 adults raved about the cake and agreed that it was the most delicious thing that they have ever tasted. When we arrived to pick-up the cake, we could not resist the yummy, well displayed cakes, muffins, giant cookies & variety of other baked goods. I selected a mini ginger bundt with cream cheese filling & crystalized ginger, pecan orange giant cookie & oatmeal raisin giant cookie. The bundt had a good balance of molasses complimented the cream cheese frosting. When I visit Maple Ridge again, I will be sure to stop by to load up on their goodies & another black forest cake...unfortunately, my niece is celiac and unable to indulge in most of the pastries. I'll be dreaming about the black forest cake from Hawaii for a long long time! Sorry, I neglected to take pictures.

She recommended: Rosemary garlic pull-apart, and that was REALLY GOOD. Definitely a 5/5. French onion pull-apart, 4/5. Fig, brie, and prosciutto croissant, 4/5 (wife's favourite). Croque monsieur, 4/5 (kids' favourite). I also ordered an oat milk latte with vanilla syrup, which was 5/5. Really good latte!!! They source their coffee beans from "Honest to Pete," located in Vancouver. A 1 lb bag costs $25, and I'm planning to pick one up on my next visit!

What I tried Hazelnut roasted banana choux - Hazelnut monte, roasted hazelnuts, candied bananas and house made praline. Mango and coconuts cake - coconut mouse mango cremeux almond dacquoise and white chocolate crunch. Choux was very delicious! Choux dough was nicely crispy exterior and filling was not overly sweet, strong hazelnut flavor, really delicious. The house made praline and hazelnut cream paired so well. I really love this item. Mango and coconuts cake was also good. Coconut mouse was light texture and not overly sweet. It paired with Mango creameux well. And I like to have them with chocolate crunch. I have always thought this place's pastries were high level. Highly recommend.

My mom and I came in to have some tea as I'd seen the Taste of the Tri-Cities scone/tea promo ($10…read morefor choice of tea, 2 buttermilk scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam) on their Instagram. The service was super friendly, coming by to check in how the food was and refilling our tea. We shared one combo (there was a variety of tea to choose from and we opted for the Cherry Blossom Green tea which was light and floral) and also tried their feature cupcake of the month (Strawberry Matcha, while not very matcha-y, the strawberry buttercream was delightful). I loved the Royal Albert plates and teacups they used as well as the cozy interior with Parisian decor elements. It wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon and I'd definitely recommend this quaint spot for a lovely teatime break!

It had chocolate buttercream filling (I think it was anyway) and possibly vanilla buttercream icing on the outside. Didn't taste like buttercream so I'm not sure. When I got the cake, the motorcycle was a photo on fondant, which is okay I guess, but then it had a huge "Indian Motorcycles" across the top. It looked like an advert for Indian motorcycles. So I had to take that off. The decoration was minimal and boring, but what really got me was the taste. Oh I'm sorry, WHAT taste? The cake was dry and so was the buttercream filling. I didn't realize it was possible to have dry icing. I was soooo disappointed. Plus I couldn't believe this cake cost me $235. Never again.
