Google search, "gluten free cakes maple ridge, british columbia, canada" took me to this wonderful neighborhood bakery, what a lucky find. I live in Honolulu and was going to Maple Ridge to see family & looking for 3 cakes to celebrate 3 birthdays, a gluten free cupcake, a delicious, special birthday cake for my sister & a regular cupcake. I spoke with Sara, a friendly, knowledgeable person. We discussed their popular cakes and I selected their black forest cake because Sara told me the cherries were special and delicious. My niece said that her gluten free chocolate cupcake was moist and had a good texture. I "accidently tasted the buttercream frosting and it was very good. The black forest cake was phenomenal, I have never tasted a better cake, and yes, the cherries were scrumptious! The whipped cream frosting was rich, delicious and tasted like 100% whipped cream. Dark chocolate shavings generously adorned the sides of the cake with plenty of loose shaving to have a taste. All 8 adults raved about the cake and agreed that it was the most delicious thing that they have ever tasted. When we arrived to pick-up the cake, we could not resist the yummy, well displayed cakes, muffins, giant cookies & variety of other baked goods. I selected a mini ginger bundt with cream cheese filling & crystalized ginger, pecan orange giant cookie & oatmeal raisin giant cookie. The bundt had a good balance of molasses complimented the cream cheese frosting. When I visit Maple Ridge again, I will be sure to stop by to load up on their goodies & another black forest cake...unfortunately, my niece is celiac and unable to indulge in most of the pastries. I could not give Claudia more stars. She is AMAZING. My wife and I chose her for our Wedding cake and we could not be more pleased. Starting with the cake tasting she was absolutely amazing and generous. most of the tastings we had been to prior limited the amount of samples we could try; however Claudia was happy to let us experiment between her cakes and fillings. Not only were her cakes amazing, but she has been incredibly patient with us as we have had to push out our wedding date 3 years due to covid. Now that we have finally had our wedding cake I can firmly say that it was worth the wait. We had a 3 tiered cake with different flavors for each. Unfortunately we were busy during our event and could not try every single tier; but we had a vanilla sponge with raspberry filling, a carrot ginger cake with cream cheese, and a lemon sponge with the same raspberry filling. She is amazing. If you are thinking of using her for your wedding cake, I can promise you will not be disappointed!!! read more

Had our wedding cake done through these guys and wow! Couldn't have been happier. It was obviously gorgeous, and oh-so moist! The process was fun too! I may just book another cake planning session to play with the ingredients some more, an excuse for someone's birthday cake or whatnot. Served us tea on China while we were there.. I've been here twice and gotten a variety of things but the by far stand out is the apple caramel muffin. It has a blast of caramel at the top and it just awesome. Priced well at $2.25. I've also tried the pecan pie, blueberry muffin, giant cookie, banana bread - all delicious. There was a younger guy working the counter when I bought the banana bread and he asked if I wanted the end or a regular piece - I was sold on the customer service at that point. I've never been asked that before - and by the way, the end piece was on point. read more

Kinda pricey... But is it worth it? I think so. Quality goods and tasty. I've tried many of things here. Favourite baked good is probably the Blondie. I really want to buy a cake or a loaf of something for a special occasion. Will keep this place in mind though when the time comes. read more

The gingerbread cake is the best: moist, rich, dark and a dollop of buttercream in the middle. The poppy seed squares were the most satisfying treat ever. Rich with poppyseed paste, marzipan and butter. For some reason people are reluctant to commit to poppyseed items, so ask Claudia for a special order. Your friends will love you for it. read more

I was really nervous choosing a bakery I'd never used before, especially for such a special occasion. Claudia was easy & pleasant to deal with & emailed me back quickly answering all my questions. I ordered two cakes for my parents 40th anniversary party. We decided on one black beast & a carrot cake. She didn't have any problem, nor charged more to execute my special request for the look of the carrot cake beautifully. We heard so many comments throughout the party how the black beast was one of the best cakes they had EVER had. The carrot cake also got great reviews from our guests. My sister asked when we picked up, 'why did I buy 2.. we were going to have so much leftover..' Well my sister & husband didn't get a piece of either & I only got to lick the knife multiple times while cutting the black beast. Clean knife each time of course!
