As someone who is dairy free, I love the fact that they had a dairy free option for the cakes. When I arrived to pick up the cake, the service was wonderful and quick. I was able to grab the cake with no issues. The space itself is gorgeous and bright. There are a few tables for seating area and I noticed they had a ton of other desserts to choose from (if I recall correctly, they had a vegan option too). I ordered the double chocolate flavour cake. I couldn't eat it unfortunately as I am dairy free but here's what my family said: they all really enjoy the cake and loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It was just the right amount of sweet. The only thing that I guess my family preferred was they felt the cake was too dense (they preferred more sponginess) but other than that, it was really good. No complaints. I'd love to come back again soon and try their other desserts.

Their Facebook page says their location is in North Vancouver, but their location is actually in the central Vancouver area which is convenient and accessible to everyone. The creator designs cakes and cookies with themes like League of Legends, Sailor Moon, Iron Man, Star Wars, MineCraft, Portal, etc. He does fashion and regular custom cakes too for weddings and birthdays, and cakes at EXP Restaurant + Bar (another favorite venue of mine). When my gf unveiled the cake at her birthday dinner, all the guests (and myself) were really surprised at how gorgeous the cake and cookies were. The designer made a pink Chibi Moon vanilla cake with pink icing inside, and the exterior was made with fondant. It was high quality tasting fondant, and tasted like a delicious marshmallowy flavor. The fondant was not overly sweet (which other bakeries tend to do) so it paired very nicely with the cake. The cookies were super cute, they were shortbread cookies that were chewy and soft, and the icing was also not overly sweet. Everything tasted good and I highly recommend Bad Ass Cakes, especially to those who love games, anime and movies if you're looking for that extra special custom cake! I want one too now. While it was refreshing, I would have loved some more mango in this or an option to have a bigger portion size for sharing. For the price point, I probably wouldn't get it again.
