(Our other local music school was relocating farther from us, and my daughter really wanted lessons.) Our lessons were.. okay. They didn't always start promptly and they were usually in tiny, hot rooms big enough for one small folding chair (plus instrument and standing student with teacher). We tried it out for a couple months and it was not for us. When canceling, they assured me it would be okay, but of course they continued to charge us the following months. I called, and again no return messages. I called again, spoke to someone and they said James would call me back, but not a word since two weeks ago. I had to dispute the charges with my card, but save yourself the effort I went through and seek lessons elsewhere.

She said buying a violin at that price was a joke, and repeatedly remarked how poor the quality of the violin I brought in for repair was. I found her attitude extremely uncomfortable, and my daughters felt embarrassed as well. I don't believe anyone should be treated with disrespect just because they are purchasing a lower-priced instrument. The results have been more than I could have asked for. We're approaching 2 years in, he's performed about 6 concerts now (each time feeling less and less anxious), and has developed a real skill. His private teacher Cameron is just awesome, and has provided our son with consistent, encouraging feedback. He's made our son comfortable in a way I didn't expect from this place. We signed up our younger son for drums, and he loves it as well. I highly encourage kids to sign up. It's free to try out and the monthly cost is worth every penny. Don is a brilliant technician. I bought my clarinet used, with a totally unknown history and a…read more(barely) serviceable setup. I played the heck out of it for three years, until the shaky keys and old pads were becoming a real problem. Fortunately, my friends pointed me to OC Sax Shop. Don took my horn as a drop in, worked me into his queue, and returned it to me in exquisite playing condition. No more lateral movement in the keys. Everything sparkling new. Pads secure and silent. He even shaped the corks to fit my aftermarket bell and barrel. All in all, extraordinary craftsmanship. It plays like a brand new horn--which I guess it is, in a way. Best of all, very reasonable pricing. I won't hesitate to book OC Sax Shop for future maintenance to keep my clarinet in top condition.
