So this is the typical Chinese buffet experience just a level or 2 lower with below average quality food and that's taking the lvl of food you usually get at a buffet into account. The price is more than fair but you know what they say, you get what you pay for. Most of the food was bland and didn't have great taste if it tasted like anything. Some of it was way overcooked like the mushrooms. Family was only in town for the weekend so really wishing we went somewhere else. Wish I could say it was better because I'm not really a picky eater and never been much of a Karen and whatnot, but damn it wasn't worth it. The sweet tea was good. read more

For the past three years we have vacationed in Fort Walton/Navarre area and have always made Ocean Buffet one of our favorite stops. My husband loves this place, but we have see a change in atmosphere, probably due to the reviews for a couple of locals. This year we noticed that they have added an extra cost to the buffet for the crab legs. The night we ate we had a party (family members) of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal. read more

This restaurant used to be great before it change to "Ocean Buffet". Not sure if it is new owners or different people working there or just what it is, but it has definitely gone way down in quality of food and service. I see no need to return. Sadly, there are just not really any good Chinese restaurants in this area. All it takes is just one good restaurant that's NOT buffet (buffets are filthy anyway) and the others will no longer have enough business to stay in business. read more

Good selection of food, including desert. Fresh grill option is an added bonus to what is expected at a Chinese buffet. There is a good choice on Sushi available. Why only 3 stars: over salted, and empty trays where the chef could not keep up on the demand. $8.99 for the lunch buffet but keep an eye on the kitchen door for the fresh items will be gone before you arrive to the buffet line. It SUSKS it's way to expensive 50 bucks for 3 people and half the food on the bar was empty and what was there was obviously old dried out and disgusting. They had already shut down the sushi bar an hour and a half before closing. The OJ my son was attempting to drink was disgusting. They are over priced and nasty. We will not be back. read more

The food was already mediocre considering the selection wasn't as vast as it used to be, and they no longer serve crab legs for dinner, but the breaking point was when I saw the server walking out of the restroom stall still wearing her apron and proceed to leave the restroom without washing her hands. I mean come on, sure the servers are not directly handling the food, but they're still touching people's cups, giving us straws and silverwear and folding silverwear. When my boss visits this is where we always go for lunch. There are enough options to satisfy everyone, including vegetarians like me. When we've gone, the restaurant has been pretty busy and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed their egg drop soup. The restuarant itself is more impressive looking on the outside than on the inside, but everything seems clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you want a reasonably priced buffet with tons of choices this is a good option. read more

I am a good lover and Buffet are like Christmas morning. I will say I looked at some of the other reviews. I was very disappointed with the food. It was a Monday night, small crowd but food was warm at most. Sushi was tough and cold aswell. The food is mostly fried. We went there on a Sat around 5pm. There are a good selection of dishes, but the quality is low. Food doesn't taste fresh. It also taste like low quality seasoning. This place was wonderful! They had all sorts of food. I had eaten and recognized some Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. I had some Japchae, sushi, dim sum, and more. They also had lots of seafood as well as more simple food like macaroni and cheese. They had a wide variety and everything tasted delicious. This place has great potential. However, there is a serious monkey wrench in several areas. I've lived here since 1995, and the building has not been redone, ICK. Same leaking ceiling and ugly old décor. Food is hit or miss. Not consistently good. Good selection, BUT depending on what time you arrive, they will charge full price but serve old drying out or picked over food. We arrived when they first opened before and they made us wait as well??? They say they close at 1030pm on Sunday. We work nights and are day sleepers. When we arrive Sundays, they are cleaning up before 9pm, have brought our checks by 915 and seem aggravated that we are finishing our meals and want dessert. We paid and tipped and were drinking tea watching football after 915pm this evening. The restaurant was near empty and they mopped around us. At 940 the waitress leaned over us grabbed our cups and said, "I'm sorry, we're closed" So we gathered our things to leave though we were trying to catch the last 4 minutes of the game. As we were leaving they cut off all of the lights at 945pm. This is the problem, they close whenever they don't have a lot of customers. We have had this problem again and again on evening visits. After welcoming you pleasantly to enter, they become serpents and rude when they want to shut down early. They block off areas, start mopping, and talking loudly in an angry foreign language tone, slamming things and frowning as though they want to bum rush you out. The bathroom is usually in need of cleaning as well. Since when do you close whenever the hell you want to? Well, I have put up with it since it was another business name but this OCEAN one really is rude with the hours. If they clean it up, fix it up, and stay open the hours they say they're open it would be okay. If money is that tight, then change the hours. read more

Very impressed., however, my best friend had made a comment that they hadn't transferred management so we were not sure as to the quality of the food anymore. So we drove from Crestview to proceed if anything had changed. Before they didn't have the bowl that you could push your food into before they put it on the Hibachi for you. Now they do have the bowl. My friend is so happy because they got the bowl. But as for me, I believe after changing management, the food is more better or quality to the food or taste to the food even when cooked on the Hibachi Grill. Now this is a buffet, you can pick out your meat and vegetables and other things of that nature and they will cook it on the Hibachi Grill in front of you before you take it to go sit at your table. This place has been my favorite Chinese buffet for a while, although when I recently went there was a lot more than Chinese food! The buffet was nice and large with all kinds of choices, well worth the money. The food is cooked to perfection in my opinion, although leaving it on a buffet for a bit does have its downsides they do the best of any buffet place I've been to. It looks like they implemented a new policy of charging for wasted food on your plates, which is quite understandable and smart from a business owners view but it really stinks if you want to try a tiny bite of everything and find some foods are not to your taste. My family and I had came on Sunday night. Food was not too bad very enjoyable just like any other place. Service on the other hand was down right terrible. We were sat down and literally 15min we were greated finally. Drinks were never filled up you had to ask even if you put them on the very edge of the table for a good bit.
