we were craving some sushi and we stumbled upon domo! we've never been here and made the drive to try it out. when we first walked in, it was a well decorated restaurant and loved the interior. you're supposed to order at the counter and find a table. i wasn't a fan of that system since the front can get crowded with people wanting to order, pick up orders, etc. other than that, we got a ton of food. we ordered two sushi rolls (deja vu and dragon eyes), veggie tempura, and sweet and sour chicken. the sushi rolls were HUGE! i'm so glad i didn't order another entree. it comes with 10 pieces and reasonably priced. the veggie tempura was a steal for $3. crispy and light. it had sweet potato, green onion, and zucchini. the sweet and sour chicken was great too. crispy with a tangy sauce and noodles. our meal overall was great. we enjoyed our time here and would come again. i suggest looking at the menu beforehand so you can go in and order right away. the staff were friendly and checked in on us while eating to make sure everything was okay. read more

Food was good. I enjoyed it enough to eat here about 7 times over the 14days I was in town. Though the ramen definitely needs work. It lacks serious flavor. As for the sushi it was fresh & delicious. I really enjoyed the food I got from here and I would eat here again if I can back in town. This review really is between 3-4 stars but the reason I'm going with 3 is because the way they seat you is pretty confusing & inefficient. You have to order prior to being seated which cramps the entrance and slows down people trying to pick up a to-go order. Which that being said.. Food: Good. Service: Terrible. TL/DR: This is mainly a message to the restaurant that you need to have signage of where people with orders for pickup are to stand and/or that there should be a separate line in general!! The other part of this review is to fellow customers: if someone that is standing in front of you in line gets passed over, do the decent thing and say "Hey this person was here before me." Don't be a selfish jerk. Full review: The restaurant is extremely small and always hectic, so I ordered ahead which I normally never have a problem with. I arrived at the end of my pickup window (40 mins) and I got in line. There was no other signage directing to a pickup window. Multiple people in front of me have their order taken. More people come in behind me, two girls directly ask me if I'm in line, and I tell them yes. A man comes in and steps over to the right of the line and after 5 minutes is asked by one employee if they have an order for pickup. He tells them a name and he is helped. I then try to follow suit as I am not ordering to dine in and have already called in my order. I step over to the right. The people behind me step over trying to follow me and I tell them "I'm trying to pick up an order, no need to get behind me." The same person who had helped the man originally with his pickup order steps by me and doesn't offer to help. She passes me multiple times and I am ignored. The cashier taking orders finally looks over at me after taking an order and says "Do you have an order for pickup?" "Yes i do" "What is the name?" "Morgan" "Okay i will help you after i take these orders can you please step over here to the left register?" The cash register then yells to the general line, "if you have a pickup order, please come to the left cash register." The girls who had been directly behind me and asked if I was line, say NOTHING, about me being there first and they get their order taken! Meanwhile, a man who I know came in after me steps quickly up to the left cash register and cuts me off while I try to move over. Someone behind me, who I believe is a Doordasher, we make small talk about how crazy it is and the fact that there is no signage. An employee then steps around to help another Doordasher that had been waiting in line and then when that employee comes back in, she asks the woman Doordasher behind me for her order name, and she happily gives it to her, even though me and one other person are in line in front of her! The cash register then has to change attention from the man in front of me, to then back to the "regular order line", before I am finally seen. I waited for 30 minutes to get an order that had already been put it in an hour and 10 minutes prior. That is ridiculous! Our food was cold by the time I got home. If someone is in front of you do the decent thing and let the restaurant know that they should be helped first! Domo, you need to have clear signage for your two lines. Your food is good, but your service sucks. I'll go to Soi Bistro next time. read more

Domo is a very popular local spot. Typically we do take out but decided to dine in today. The parking is atrocious at best as the location has other businesses in close proximity including other restaurants. The order counter is located immediately to the left of entering and you must place your order then seat yourself and await delivery of the food. The service of the lady taking the order was good but a tad bit hard to comprehend. She promptly addressed my questions and made recommendations as well. The vibe is modern and hip. Ensure you are ready to be elbow to elbow with other diners. The presentation, temperature and flavors all get high ratings from me. The parking situation and overly casual vibe is where points are lost. read more

We're visiting from Montana before we move here (military) and both my husband and I loved Domo. You order and then you sit down. If you come and there's a line, be prepared to wait for your food. Takes time to make tasty food. We may have waited 45 minutes once we sat but we were fine with that. The following day I ordered to our hotel and from order to drop off was an hour (but I ordered right around lunch time). Domo Cafe was great. We found this place on Yelp just looking at some different options in the area. Destin and fort Walton have a lot of food options but a lot of places are primarily fish joints. Great food and atmosphere. This restaurant gets really busy so prepare to wait. I came on a Wednesday after work and the later in the evening it got, the more packed. What a find in this small Florida beach city! The ambiance right when walking in gave me Osaka vibes. It's vibrant, fun, and wall to wall decked in anime art. The menu is Asian fusion but there were items that did quickly catch my eye, always a good sign. I went with the Domo bun and the tuna and salmon don. The Domo bun came out first and was super tasty! The bun was steamed perfectly and soft. The pork belly slice was well marinated and tender and the pickled slice cucumbers provided just the right amount of tang. When the don came out, I was surprised at its size considering the price! It was chocked full of tender cubes of tuna and salmon and also generous with the seaweed salad and rice. I was also impressed at how well seasoned the rice was! My friends also enjoyed their boba, ramen, and tofu bowl choices. Overall we really enjoyed our meal here and highly recommend it for any visitors looking for something a bit different from standard beach town fare. read more

A beautiful intimate Japanese restaurant. Amazing food I can't wait to go back, my son got the ramen and I got a sushi burrito yes say that again sushi burrito. Again it's intimate AKA small don't expect to go in with 15 of your friends you might take up the whole restaurant. There was a line when we got there. So what's interesting is you actually order your food and pay first then have a seat and they'll give you a number and they will come and serve your food. Great food. I mean some of the best. And a cool ambiance. Love the anime. Not sure where these ladies learned to cook but damn it's good. However, if you're germaphobic either get your food to go or bring your own utensils. This is where things turn for me. Where you get your drinks and utensils is not clean. The forks are stored tines up so everyone touches the part you eat with. The chopsticks are basically the same. At least get chopsticks sealed in paper. Table was not wiped clean but we made due. While enjoying the tasty poke bowl and noodle dish we had a visitor. A nice little cockroach walked across the table. Not totally freaked out by that. It happens, but combine that with the rest of the place that needs cleaned, the lack of care around having sterile utensils to eat with, and as good as the food is, I dont think I'll be back. This place was awesome! There is lots of different sushi places in the Fort Walton area and this place ranks high on the list of restaurants. The food was pretty awesome! I will say that the roll was a little bit underwhelming which was alright to be honest because the bento box more than made up for it! The bento box was amazing, the food was high quality and the price was around the $15 mark for an entire box which you can't really find prices like that anymore. I also got a matcha green tea which was good, my only complaint was that they were out of regular milk so they asked if I wanted a different milk like oat or almond and than still charged me a dollar extra for the milk preference. Moving into the service... Domo's service and staff were extremely nice and approachable and everyone was in good spirits which was awesome! If you are looking for a restaurant where you want to have your own personal server, like a traditional style restaurant, this isn't the place to go to. It was a little strange at first having to sit down and look at the menu then go wait in a line to order but the food made up for it. I absolutely LOVE Domo Cafe! Everything that I've tried there has been delicious. I'm a big fan of their bento boxes. I love to order Korean Spicy with Shrimp. I will order it with 2 sides of Dumplings and Tofu. The drum points are perfectly crispy and not too greasy. The tofu is also crispy and just enough sauce for perfection. The boba is delicious as well! I like to order the chai flavor and get 0% sweetness with oat milk and tapioca. The alternative milk is an extra charge. Domo is AMAZING for vibes. A very cute interior that transports you into another country. The workers are smiling and I really appreciated the worker Maya(? Will edit once I am for sure of her name). She was super helpful! It's super hard to get seating here and she was able to help me get a table for 5 people!!!! HOT TIP: DOMO IS ALWAYS BUSY AND A VERY SMALL RESTAURANT! LIMITED SEATING AND FOOD WILL TAKE A WHILE! A small place... My only issue was that you order at the counter before you can sit down which created a bit of cluster. It was difficult to get in and out of the door because of the line and difficult to tell where the line ended. Pork Dumplings 10/10 Chile lime oil to dip. These were amazing. The flavor was so good, seasoned well. I typically like my dumplings a little more fried, but the fry on the bottom side was pretty crispy. Between the little bit of crisp and the amazing flavor, i actually didn't mind that they were so soft still. Probably my favorite dumpling I've ever had. And the Chile lime oil was was your typical dumpling sauce, great flavor on that too. Shoyu ramen 9/10 A huge portion! Good flavor broth. The egg was perfect. Good amount of noodles, loved the corn and the green onion. I swapped the pork for chicken katsu, it was breaded and cooked perfectly, juicy and very crispy on the outside! Not sure what the black noodle shaped thing was, I'm assuming pickled kimchi? I could do without that... and the seaweed. I also tried some of the Beef Bulgogi from my friends Bento Box, which was cooked pretty well and seasoned and marinated perfectly, really great! read more

Attempted to dine here a couple weeks ago, the line to order was out the door. No one could move to even exit from having eaten, the staff couldn't even move around to deliver drinks or food and the patrons couldn't breathe from how jammed in we were in this tiny space to order food. My family spotted a table that opened up (because again there wasn't even a place to stand to order let alone eat once you placed your order and we had 5 of us in total so we needed more seating, we took what would work when it came available as any would do- as you do at bamboo, and even at docs!)... my family went and sat down; while i stood in line and waited to order... right then and a waitress walked over and kicked my family out. She said very rudely "the tables are only for people who purchased their food already" my husband told her politely that his wife was in line and she said "so, does she have a food number?" To which he replied; "not yet, she's right there about 8 customers back" and pointed to me, she said "then you need to leave the table now for other customers." In total shock and frustration my husband packed up my kids and came over to me in line and told us were leaving now- we will not be giving them our money. And so we left. Just so you are aware; while standing in the line you have no idea how many people are with each party that is ordering as it's so packed many people leave their families in their cars so they can order, and summon them to sit after that. So it's quite the gamble to get a table once you've ordered. What happens if people don't leave and they sit there and socialize or order more food? The people in the line have to then ask for their food to be repackaged into Togo boxes I suppose. It's a terrible set up they have here. The food might be great but the procedure to order and to sit is asinine. They definitely need to fix this or get a larger facility to handle their business' needs. So bottom line- if you order food here you may or may not get to sit down and eat it. ALSO there are also ZEROOOOOO signs that state what this strange unprofessional policy is that they have there so hopefully we save you some frustration, humiliation and embarrassment with this warning review. Humiliating a family with three little kids in tow that were unable to stand under the 50+ adults feet that were in the line to order food was the the straw that broke the camels back for us. We will never be back. May the odds be ever in your favor should you choose to dine at this establishment. read more

This is a small cute spot with Asian fusion options. My party ordered the wontons and domo buns for appetizers , sushi's included volcano,cowboy and starburst and lastly we got the yakisoba bowl. However the service could have been better, they were super busy and missed our order of wontons originally. Volcano roll was not it, the crab salad on top really detracted from the rest of the roll. The Ebi roll was good but not great, the fresh lemon was a nice touch. My coworkers and I ordered this for lunch one day and I finally got to try their chicken katsu curry bowl with a brown sugar milk tea + boba. I love Japanese curry, and I'm so glad I got this. The curry spice is very mild. I love spicy things, so I only wish you could customize this at different spice levels! The chicken was breaded and fried nicely, I love it. The potatoes and carrots were great, as well as the rice. The whole dish was 9/10, just wish for the spice level and eating it when it's hot and not to go! The boba tea was yummy, I got it blended and it really hit the spot. The service was great especially with us ordering a couple of different options off the menu over the phone and it being ready only 20 mins later!
