The course is in bad shape. The fairways are brown, worse on the front 9. Sand traps are bad as well. Staff are all very nice.

The course layout is great. The clubhouse is being renovated so using a temporary building. The sand traps are terrible, zero maintenance. I asked the staff if the sand trap equipment was broken and they responded with "it's a more of a problem than that"?! They apologized. For the same price you can play a beautiful and well maintained course called Poipu Bay! read more

SOLID deal. Paid less than $200 to play here during a recent visit to the island. We were pleasantly surprised. Course is in great condition and there are some really scenic holes along with some challenging ones as well. Staff is super friendly (especially the starter!) and for the price, we got logo balls and a towel to take home along with access to the range prior to our round. Pay attention to the email that they send to you with the exact Google map location b/c they are currently undergoing a major reno so the parking lot is not where it used to be. This is an amazing course to play. The views from the back nine are incredible. We have seen whales in the ocean from this course! The greens are beautiful and the staff amazing. This is a top course and we have played it multiple times. We have noticed in the past month the course is dryer and they do not seem to be watering the fairways as much. It makes for a better roll out; however, we have heard other to golfers comment about the course not being what it was a few months ago. Note: they are also remodeling the pro shop and main building so the pro shop was moved to the snack shack. Not quite the same experience;however, the course is fun and the staff are so relaxed and friendly. We recommend this course for those golfers that want some fun with ocean front fairways. read more

I played here 4 times while staying at the resort and it's been my best golf experience to date. Beautiful views and a challenging course. I especially like the back nine that has stunning views and some very tough but fun holes. Carts were new with GPS and turn food ordering. Cart girl was super friendly. All staff was super helpful and friendly. But the cherry on top was how the starter Ricky helped us both on and off the course. Even got us some extras at the resort restaurants! read more

The views are definitely worth the price of admission. But not for the faint of heart. The wind on the back 9 is pretty brutal. Example after son hit two strong shots at 17 into the wind and plunked em in the water, i m like forget this hole! 16 is crazy! Blind shot, Down hill par 4, 253 yards... hill on right, ocean on left. I Hit a 4 iron to within 60 yards. son drove two balls not knowing where they went. One was on the green! I decided to watch from the cart path above the hole as he birdied it. The prices and wind combine to keep many duffers from frequenting this track! We had to do it at least once in This lifetime. Of course aided by a $150 gift card as Marriott owners, that made it easy! The staff will pick you up and take you back to hotel in a complimentary 4 seat golf cart. read more

Excellent course with amazing views and challenging golf. The wind changes, changing the course each time you play. We played twice in the last 10 days, and enjoyed both rounds immensely. A tight 3 wood or driver is a must-try on hole 16... one of our golfers hit the green both times from the blues (275 and 280ish). We played a layup golfer and send someone up to watch for the ball (hopefully) landing on the green. Almost better than the golf was the level of service we experienced from the bag drop through to the on-course food. Ricky the starter is the man!! Hopefully he will be working when you play there, along with his niece on the cart. Also the rental clubs were good and came with a sleeve of balls. Even low-handicappers will play a few sleeves of balls here. If you shoot bogey normally, I would bring at least a box of balls. Awesome must-do course. read more

Oh man, where to start? Bray, Miles and Uncle Ricky were by far the most professional, courteous and friendly folks I've met in some time. I could write a book on how people should be treated and Uncle Ricky would be on every page as an outstanding example of customer service. He truly understands Aloha! This course is in incredible shape and offers a bit of everything. It's not just a signature hole or two, but the whole course is beautiful. The snack shack was wayyyy above Makai in many ways. I would encourage anyone visiting Kauai who wants to golf to hit this place up. Can't say enough about the staff. read more

The most beautiful golf course I've ever played and that includes Pebble. Empty due to Covid so we are by ourselves out here. The views are stunning and for the price it's a bargain. Ricky, Joe, and Mila (in the snack shop - she makes a mean sandwich) were all so wonderful, funny, welcoming, and gave great tips on how to play the course, where to go to lunch after, and spend the rest of our trip. 5 stars all around! Flew in for the round on 9/21/22. Course is next door to Lihue airport so it made it easier to plan for a day trip. Paid $10 for an Uber and it took about 7-8 minutes door to door. Clubhouse lady was awesome and so was the starter. The starter was great at giving us a rundown of the course and helpful tips. I'm knocking a star off due to the guy working the little restaurant counter. Didn't seem too friendly, and was actually a bit pushy. Bought several bottles of water and powerades, when given the total I gave cash. To my surprise he then handed me a receipt(not the change yet) and asked me to fill it out. All there was to fill out was the tip line. It was cash payment. I mean, do you really need to ask for a tip when all you're doing is handing a few cold bottles of water? $5-$6 per bottle of water and Powerade? Management, I suggest you retrain the guy at the restaurant/shop. Needless to say, a negative interaction like that can blemish an otherwise great experience. Course itself is super nice as you would expect. Great condition tee to fairway, and greens rolled true and fast. read more

One of the best if not The Best courses on Kauai. Worth the price for the round, for the experience, for the "being there." If you ever come to a Kauai for golf, you almost have to play play this course. Heavily suggest you make the effort to play this course in the morning vs afternoon as there is this one hole, forget which number, which is a spectacular view hitting downhill towards Nawiliwili Bay. You're facing the afternoon sun and if it's just right, you're completely blinded by the sun coming off the water so it ends up being a blind shot at the hole. Highly recommend the three day package that give you unlimited golf. The practice facility is awesome. I have been playing this course for twenty five years. Back to the old Lagoons days and two courses. This is a fabulous course. Every hole is memorable. # 14 is one of the most spectacular holes in Hawaii. 16-18 are three incredible finishing holes. There is not a hole I do not love to play. As good as the course is, the staff is better! Ricky has been the greatest host for many years, We buy a package every time we go to Lihue. His staff is awesome. My cousin and I flew in from Seattle, we were trying to find a fun golf course to play while we were down in Kauai. We were staying right near the golf course so we wondered over to check it out and man were we wowed! Uncle Ricky and the staff are some of the greatest people I have had to chance to meet! We walked onto the course and instead of ushering us out to maximize the dollar, Uncle Ricky made sure we have a great experience instead. We went ahead and rented clubs from the clubhouse and then went to find Uncle Ricky. Once we did, he told us to go hit a couple balls from the range and putt for a bit. Then once we were done with that he sent us out. The pass of play was amazing and the atmosphere was even better. The front 9 was more inland, going through jungles and the back 9 was right near the water. We were never rushed, felt like we held anybody up nor even hit into anyone. This course is so scenic it's almost painfully beautiful. The views are right up there with Kapalua and the course conditions are almost at the same level. The back nine ocean stretch is great fun and will really challenge your game. We played in 20-25mph winds and my 86 felt like it would have been 79 on a calmer day. The hospitality is really nice too. As I got dropped off a pleasant young woman immediately loaded my bag onto a cart, took me to the pro shop to check in and gave me some helpful hints about where to go. Yes, it was $260. However I felt the experience was well worth it. Definitely a must play at least once. read more

Favorite course in Hawaii Even though it was just punched and sanded and it's been exceptionally dry this year, the course impressed. Great layout with interesting holes, not just the up and back resort type course (think Poipu). It had elevation, over water holes, own into the rainforest, high on a hill top, blind doglegs and a combo of white silica (easily played) and red clay (argh) sand traps all adding to the aesthetics (only Hualalai is more attractive). Great people throughout (Ricky, Rodeo Joe, cart girls, etc.). And a great vale at $200 a round for Hawaii. read more

What a great experience. The entire staff treats you like you are a member of a country club. On my second visit they remembered my name. The back nine is one of the most challenging and fun course I have played. The holes along the ocean have an unparalleled view. Bring lots of ball!!! I can't say enough about Kellie the head professional. She conducts a clinic twice weekly and it is one of the best deals out there. My wife wants to take up the game and is a complete novice. Kellie took the time to make her feel comfortable. We will definitely play the course next year when we return. It is a must. read more
