Personalization is the reason I'm a crafter... I can't say I love jewelry I don't have a lot of pieces though for the ones that I do have is personalize and has special meanings behind them and only the ones that are wearing them understands the representation of them which makes it extra special...which is why I was just surprised by Ocean Creations. After a very long day at work I needed something at Ala Moana Center then decided to have a sip of coffee at Island Brew Coffeehouse and decided to chill at one of their window seating that got me to notice Ocean Creations right across...hm!? Thinking it's another jewelry store I just decided to see what they have and it wasn't at all what I expected. As soon as I walk in I see pieces of charms and power stones which apparently is an experience for you to build your own charm bracelet...majority are gold filled but there are a few silver plated. They're also many pieces that are made including collections section for the horoscope lovers, angel numbers, and even a little chart of some info of power stone meanings which is kinda my thing that I do like. As I browsed and browsed as there is so much to see I noticed a little bowl filled with pieces of chains that I realized were rings...Oo! there are a few that had power stone on them but one had a tiny bow and just absolutely fell in love with it very simple and dainty but not clunky it was just the ring I was looking for. This store is the cutest! Support locally owned jewelry businesses rather than big corporations, especially in Hawaii. Every time you walk into the store, you are greeted by one of the girls and they're willing to assist customers with any needs or questions. There's a lot of fine pieces to look at which can be overwhelming but they are readily available to help you out if needed. Prices range but I believe most of the metals are tarnish free meaning you get your money's worth even if it's not pure gold. Of course you should take care of your jewelry accordingly--ask them what maintenance looks like. Lots of jewelry can be customized and is handmade. They have permanent jewelry, charm bracelets, rings necklaces, etc. I've seen various lettering and personalized writing too. I've been to both locations & I finally got my permanent anklet! It was $60 for the chain + $10 for the charm. I'm excited to come back for more charms and even another stacked layer. FYI they have a policy for when your permanent jewelry ever breaks you can come back in to get it fixed. Such a great deal compared to prices in the mainland! Thanks OC. Thank you Ocean Creations for the amazing experience. My sister surprised me with a booking to ocean creations for my 33rd birthday. We made custom phone cases with charms from the charm bar. The workers came around and made sure they had the correct phone case sizes for your case. Then we began the experience of creating custom phone cases with the charms from the charm bar. It was an intimate experience with about 10 people at the Ka Makana Ali'i location. We were served Champagne, Hors d'oeuvres, and we got to choose from a beautiful collection of charms for our phone cases. The owner was there as well. She was helpful during the experience and knowledgeable about jewelry. The owner was able to create beautiful custom jewelry during the experience as well. Went in this past weekend with an idea for a charm bracelet for my girlfriend. The worker there walked me through the whole thing and helped me pick out all the charms that would match best to what I had in mind. There was so much to choose from! Having her there really helped me narrow down the options. The finished bracelet was phenomenal and was way better than I imagined it would be. My girlfriend is going to for sure love it! I had the most inexcusable experience in here today. My visit started out great, the girl in a pink bra and matching pants helped me pick earrings. I saw a pair of pink pikake earrings that had TWO tags stating the price as $40. I bring the earrings to the counter and the same girl says "so I know the tag says $40 but these are really $50 and no one has changed the sign". I informed her that she was obligated to honor the price on the sign and charging extra at the register when you KNOW the sign is wrong is FALSE ADVERTISING. She says "I don't make the rules" to which I replied "no the state of Hawaii does, I'll call the better business bureau" and she said I can call anyone but the price is $50. I insisted that I did not care if the boss said the price was more, if the sign is advertising a price not once but TWICE, then that price must be honored. She said "fine, I'll give it to you at $40 but it's not our policy". When the BBB opens tomorrow, I will be calling. This was the store's mistake and they should not be arguing against customers like this to begin with. read more

sold me two necklaces advertised as 14k GF jewelry, ended up RUSTING less than a month after purchase. i sent my receipt and video evidence of the necklace to their instagram and got one response asking me to provide receipts which i then got left on seen for a WEEK. i sent a follow up and have been on delivered for yet another week. they've been active and posting on their instagram so just looks like they've been avoiding giving me a deserved refund. real 14k GF will not tarnish easily and i take proper care of my jewelry. read more

I wasn't going to leave a review but a week ago i visited to buy a gift for a friend, it's clean and well set up in the store but the customer service is terrible! The girl with the orange hair and freckles was helping me make a bracelet and when I was unsure of my friend's exact wrist size she made a snarky comment "well how would I know either". She overall had a tone that seemed like we were a bother & when I asked if they could just come back to get it readjusted she seemed annoyed that i asked. The other shorter girl with brown hair was polite for the most part. I didn't think anything of it and let it go assuming they're probably in college and maybe having a bad finals week (shouldn't even be an excuse) but i spoke to some friends and colleagues who had similar experiences some with the same exact orange haired girl. It's pretty sad if this is the way they decide to carry themselves. It shouldn't be expected i know someone's exact wrist size and a friendly alternative or solution would have been 10000% better. read more
