Ocean Crest Resort is one of my favorite places to eat! I love the food, atmosphere and the servers are so nice.

My husband and I took a weekend trip to Ocean Crest Resort in late August. Wow did we have a great time! The location is absolutely breathtaking - it's isolated and quiet but still only 20 minutes from Ocean Shores where you can do all of the touristy things. We stayed in a studio the first night and a 1bedroom with a view the second night. Although I would agree with some of the other reviews that it felt like the rooms were just a tad overpriced - I cannot give them anything less than a 5 star review simply because of how phenomenal their staff was. They went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. We had a sad little boy at home the first night we were there and the gal who works the night shift let us come down to the office and use their phone - we had to talk to him for over 15 minutes to get him calmed down. She did not make us feel rushed AT ALL! I even bought a beautiful piece of Seahawks jewelry from her that she handmade! They also made the transition from one room to another super simple for us! As others have mentioned the WIFI is not great and there is absolutely no service out there but that's to be expected in a remote location like this. We will definitely be coming back again very soon! Oh and Mr. Kitty - their resident cat/mascot is adorable! He will wander around sometimes up to your front door and scratch to see if he can come inside! One of the gals at the front office told us that they have guests who have been coming back for years now and will let Mr. Kitty come in and spend the night. :) read more

We just stayed at the Ocean Crest and for the life of us we cannot understand what everyone is whining about. Yes, the restaurant just burnt down - which is a shame, but nothing that ruined our stay. My husband was disappointed that the stairs down to the beach were impassable due to a landslide from the fire, however. We could still get to the beach via the public access road, though, so all was not lost. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and our balcony had a beautiful view of the beach. The in-room fireplace was a nice touch. The pool facilities were awesome as were the pool staff, and the front desk clerk, if not friendly, was at the least pleasant and tried to be helpful. Sure, it's an older hotel that is a little worse for wear. Yeah, you have to *gasp* open your door with a real key. Things are a little dated (the paper wrappings around the toilet and drinking glasses that said "sanitized for your protection" made us laugh), but who cares? The beach is HUGE, and even with all the area hotels full up for the weekend, we could have walked for miles and not run into anyone. We will look forward to returning, hopefully when the restaurant has reopened and the stairs to the beach are passable once more! read more

Top notch dining! Over the years, before and after the fire rebuilding of this lovely restaurant, I have never been disappointed. Such great food and a great atmosphere. The chef is amazing! Sea scallops and the pancake fritters are some of my favs. read more

Went for dinner only and was somewhat disappointed. At first, I thought we were in a gift shop instead of a resturant. We were seated in the bar; we did not have reservations. The place is small and tight. I ordered their rib steak, hand cut, whatever that means . . . and their grandmas's famous clam chowder for start; famous?? The chowder was delicious, a hint of citrus, smooth and chunks of clam and potatoes. I have to admit, I did enjoy the chowder. The steak on the other hand was a good size portion and cooked the way I ordered it, medium rare, but was covered with a salty, thin, brown gravy sauce. I had a hard time tasting the meat. The asparagus which came with it were thin and under cooked, it was like chewing on dead grass. The after dinner coffee came warm from a thermos dispencer, perhaps coffee from today's breakfast . . . I prefer hot, fresh brewed coffee not coffee which has been sitting in a thermos bottle for half a day. Overall, the meal was over priced and the place; over rated. read more

Review for dinner only. We must have hit a bad night at the Ocean Crest restaurant because the reviews here make this restaurant sound wonderful. The seafood pasta was devoid of seafood, and what was there was horribly overdone. The filet mignon was well prepared, but half of it was gristle. The service was slow with 45 minutes between our appetizer and main course, and from what we could see, they weren't that busy. It's true that the ambiance and view are divine, but for over $100 (without a bottle of wine), the meal was awful and expensive! read more

Why do we love this place?? Let us tell you. The Ocean Crest is not part of a chain of hotels. It is a family run business and they treat you like you are family. The view is outstanding and you can enjoy it with your dog! The pet friendly rooms are awesome and you can get one with or without a kitchen. The restaurant serves amazing food with friendly staff. The food is prepared there by hand with seasonal specials. The pool, sauna and hot tub are wonderful! Ocean Crest is wonderful. The only downside is their beach access. The place isn't Seabrook, it actually has beach views and quick access to the sand. read more

I've never been here for dinner, but the Eggs Benedict w/ fresh orange juice is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Couple it with a fantastic view and a nice cup of joe? Best place in the area- read more

Excellent value for the price! Great ocean front rooms, with only minutes from the beach. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Each ocean front room has a large balcony where we spent evening sipping wine... I'd certainly recommend to consider staying there. read more

Magnificent views of ocean and forest. Dining room was good but expensive. We had ordered a king size bed, pet room. We were put in a queen size bed pet-room. The room wreaked of cat urine on carpets and couch (where I ended up sleeping)....they offered cover up air sprays....carpet and couch need cleaning. We got our second night's fee back but not the one we stayed. Disgusting....maybe non-pet rooms are better.Furnishings are similar to my 70's apartment.....very disappointed. Would never recommend....too bad, views are stunning. read more

The long awaited re-creation of this lovely restaurant is a great success. Excellent and friendly service. A beautiful setting. The crab cakes as they say at their Chocolate On The Beach Festival cooking demo, have a great deal of their "secret Ingredient": CRAB. Delicious. Julie had the SARA Burger to her delight. Outstanding view from Restaurant, and the lunch was unbelievably Amazing I had the Seafood halibut with Pineapple salsa and rice, and my Mom had their Clam chowder ... And can't forget dessert, the Crème brulé, is brought to your table and they torch the top of it before giving it to you! I have never written a Yelp review before. Because of the varying reviews of this lovely family property and our positive experience, I thought it was high time. We have stayed here on a few occasions over several years and have always enjoyed our time. However, this visit was absolutely wonderful. We had our small dog with us, but were given a beautifully refreshed and updated room which is rarely the case when traveling with an animal. We had an incredible ocean view out the big sliding glass windows of our spacious room. Every staff member we encountered at the resort was professional and welcoming. We enjoyed the restaurant for a lovely dinner which boasts an impressive wine list with a price point for everyone. Our server Kyle was attentive and efficient. The chef spoke to us and all the tables of diners during our dinner. Jess also inquired about our satisfaction. We even took advantage of the spa across the road where Mickey gave my husband and I a wonderful relaxing massage. We found all parts of the resort to be well-kept and immaculately clean. Any property which abuts the ocean struggles with the ravages of the climate as far as wear and tear, but this team is clearly working hard to keep up. The long staircase down to the beach is in great shape and safe. We were there during a clam dig and the staff made sure the clam cleaning station and surrounding area was clean each day. The grounds offer grass, fire pit and lovely landscaping which are well maintained. We live on the other side of the state but I can't wait to go back! read more

I booked this hotel for a long weekend getaway at the beach. It was booked through Priceline.com. When we arrived, my husband went to go check in while I waited in the car with our 1 year old. He came back to tell me that we couldn't stay because there is a 2 person max on our room and there were 3 of us. REALLY?! The baby sleeps with us so it's not like we were going to need an extra bed for him. The front desk lady told him that we needed to cancel the room, so we did through Priceline. She said that we would get our deposit back if someone booked the room and that she had been getting a lot of calls for rooms so she didn't see a problem with it getting booked. Needless to say the room was booked 45 minutes after we cancelled it (yes, we saw it was rebooked on Priceline.com) so we expected to get our deposit back. We made the 2 hour drive back home because every place was booked up and decided that we will give them a day or two to get our refund sorted out. To make matters worse, my husband checked our bank account when we got home to find that there is a pending charge for the 2nd night stay at the hotel. He called the front desk on Sunday morning and was told someone else would call us back later that day. They finally called back on Monday and said that the 2nd night pending charge should be returned and that we wouldn't be getting our deposit back even though we were told we were. So now we are out almost $100 for a hotel room we didn't even stay in!!! And they made another $100+ for the rebooking. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced with a hotel. IF YOU TELL SOMEONE THAT THEY WILL BE GETTING THEIR DEPOSIT BACK IF THE ROOM WAS REBOOKED, YOU SHOULD HONOR IT! Don't try to make a buck off of hard working people! It just makes you look shady! We will never be back and I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone. read more

great place. old, but clean. great staff. other people staying in nearby room left their dog in the room and it barked and barked and yipped and that detracted from our awesome view and relaxing get away. we told staff and they tried to rectify but couldn't enter room and calm dog. i will stay here again. read more

We spent a week in and around Ocean Shores, Washington. This was an order of magnitude above all the other restaurants. A very nice setting situated above the beaches and nestled among the sitka spruce, and excellent meals. I wish we had stopped earlier in the week. read more

Stayed here this weekend. Must be the restaurant that brought people here! We would have LOVED to eat there.Sad, it burned down.The hotel is old and needs some serious help! The building is is need of serious attention! The outside needs paint, landscaping and maybe some night lighting. Railings and posts were falling apart and rotten. We were seriously dissapointed when we got there. Scared that the inside was like the outside. However, after we looked at the room and the view, we decided to stay. Room was clean and well stocked. Obviously, a stellar place at one time and if it gets some attention, will be again. The view is incredible! read more

We have been privileged to stay at Ocean Crest many, many times over the years. When you open your door and look out at the beach through the tress, something magical happens, You ramp way down, stress melts away, you unwind and slow down and feel able to just "be". The rooms, and we do have our favorites, are spacious and have every amenity including fireplaces. Nothing is comparable to going to sleep with a fireplace softly lighting the ceiling and the sound of the surf to provide the best nights sleep you've ever had. Come here and become acquainted with yourself again. The food is First Class! We've NEVER had a bad time here and that is saying something as we've traveled the world. read more

First off, the dining is fantastic. We had an anniversary dinner and breakfast that was out of this world. Expensive, but worth it. We were there early enough to see the sunset while dining. Our room was a 3 star. It was a pet friendly one and was a little tired, but certainly comfortable. Clean. Good bed and great view of the ocean. Had a presto log fire in the fireplace with the roar of the ocean in the background. Wife had a massage the next morning and enjoyed that. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

Beautiful location right on the ocean, great views. The room we stayed in was cozy and quaint, but could use a little updating. The restaurant was nice, the food was good, but a bit overpriced. There was construction going on at the pool area, but was really very nice. The town of Moclips has lots to be desired, but this resort makes it worth the drive. read more

My husband and I spent last weekend in Ocean Shores and went to breakfast and dinner at the Ocean Crest Resort restaurant. The food was good, the service great and the view incredible. This was the first weekend the place has been open since it burned down a few years ago. They did a good job with the design of the new place. I eat strictly gluten free and my husband is gluten free and a vegan. After breakfast we liked the food so much we talked with the chef about the possibility of them being able to accommodate our dietary needs and he went above and beyond what anyone else has ever done for us! He happens to be a vegetarian so he was very understanding of what my husband would or wouldn't eat. We made a reservation for dinner and weren't disappointed. I had a scallop dish with curried cauliflower. Best scallops I have had in years! Melted in my mouth. My husband had a beautiful vegan dish with various vegetables that was filling and tasty as well. Our server was perfect, and we were so please with the whole experience. 4 stars is because we planned the dinner so that we could have a window table and specifically told the person taking reservations that's what we wanted. He promised a table but when we showed up the person who seated us told us window seats were 1st come 1st served, so we had to sit elsewhere. read more

I stayed here recently. Perk, our room was spacious. We booked for 2 adults 3 kids. We had 2 bedrooms with a total of 3 beds . The front desk staff was nice. I do however feel it would have been more inviting if it had been updated a bit. I didn't realize that all the rentals were seperated so I found going to the pool was a bit awkward. I was in a room across the street in the A frame and kept having to move my car because I guess the guy in the small cottage like thing to the right of the A frame was told he was getting an ocean view room and he kept complaining that his ocean view was just a small part in between the buildings across the street. Therefore he acted though I was an inconvenience to his stay and he didn't want any cars in the way of his view. I don't feel that, if the room is being sold as an ocean view, it should be. None of the rooms across the street should be considered an ocean view. So parking spot lines would have been nice in that little area that way other guests can't feel like they own the parking lot and ask other people to move their cars. I did like that the kitchen in my room was stocked. So if your room comes with a kitchen bring food. We checked in at check in time and was advised to make dinner reservations, so when we went to our room we called down to do so and the only reservation was for 9 pm. I had 3 small kids with us, 9 pm wasn't going to work. I was looking forward to dining there but that went out the window. We ended up dining in seaport? I think that's what it was called. Nice town. Also for some reason our room that accommodated larger groups, only had 2 large towels in it, not sure why that was the case. All in all the room was decent but not spectacular. Would have loved to try dinner at the restaurant but that was booked. Would call before your stay and make reservations. read more

My husband and I took an impromptu trip to Ocean Shores with our dog last Tuesday for just one night. When we arrived the front desk, I believe her name was Lisa...took great care finding us the perfect room to accommodate our dog and what we were looking for. We took their large studio room on the ground floor. It was clean, comfortable, had a wonderful view, our own patio and a fire place already equipped with a log:) That night we dined at the restaurant and was happy with everything we ordered. The food was delicious and we had great service by Teri. After we got back home to Seattle I realized I had left my purse in the dresser of our room and called the resort immediately. Lisa answered and asured me that they had found it and could mail it out to me asap. Through our conversation I found out that they had contacted me the minute they found my purse to try and get it to me before we left. Unfortunately I saw the call, but decided not to answer it due to not recognizing the number. Lisa was very helpful and I received my purse overnight! We had such a wonderful experience in every aspect of the trip and cannot wait to return! read more
