Next time I'll stay on the top floor of the resort.

For the prices they charge, the condition of the accommodations is embarrassing. This is supposed to be a resort, not a time capsule with a premium nightly rate attached to it. But the outdated rooms are honestly the least offensive part of what is happening here. Since the new owners took over, I understand that most of the longtime staff were suddenly fired with little or no warning and the restaurant was shut down. These were real people with families, bills, mortgages, and lives tied to this place. People who helped build the reputation and experience that Ocean Crest benefited from for years were apparently discarded without a second thought. That is a shameful way to take over a longstanding local business. Closing the restaurant and gutting the staff didn't just change the resort--it affected multiple families and took jobs out of a small coastal community where replacing that kind of employment is not exactly easy. Then there is the situation involving historical artifacts that were reportedly loaned to the resort under the previous family ownership. My understanding is that some of those items have still not been returned to the people they belong to. If that is accurate, it is beyond unacceptable. Those items are part of someone else's family history and were entrusted to the resort, not handed over permanently to whoever happened to buy the property. Ocean Crest used to have something that money cannot easily recreate: history, character, loyal employees, a functioning restaurant, and a connection to the community. The new ownership appears to be doing an incredible job of destroying all of it. You can renovate an outdated room. You can replace furniture. You can repaint walls. What you cannot easily repair is the damage done when a business loses the goodwill of its employees, former owners, local community, and longtime customers. I would not spend a dime here under the current ownership. There are plenty of beautiful places to stay on the Washington coast. Spend your money somewhere that actually deserves your business.

Recently restored building on the town's Main Street, it's the cutest place. Yes, there is more space in home rentals, but if you're a party of one or two, I think you'll enjoy the in-room amenities here including mini kitchen, large bath, cable and comfortable bed. Watch for the future wine bar under construction on first floor. The barber shop is already up and running too. Splurging here means $100 a night. There are other rooms for less. I have a huge desire for two strips of beachfront here and if you're smart about it, you'll start visiting Pacific Beach now. This previously neglected community is about to take an upswing. It's Washington State's Cuba. :)

You can also drive down to the beach if you prefer not to walk back up to the resort. The use of "resort" is overly used in the area, in my opinion they are not resorts just hotels and motels that are near beach access. The Navy Resort is on the older side however the rooms are spacious and a great place to rest and relax after a day out of the beach or visiting some of the smaller towns. There are also 3-5 beach cottages, campsites and RV parking available. There is something for everyone in how they want to spend their time. Some of the issues we ran into were the lack of available grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants that stay open past early lunch. I suggest stocking up on groceries in Aberdeen prior to arriving because there isn't much available locally. The hotel suites only have microwaves and fridges so you have to plan accordingly. We were on the third floor, (no elevators) this is an older building so the walls are paper thin, we could hear our neighbors all the time they were in there. It didn't bother us too much since we spent a lot of time out on the beach and visiting the far west side of Olympic Park.

This place was recommended by my neighbors that now reside in Ocean Shores (which is about a 20-30 min drive from this motel!) The outside has been renovated to include additional rooms. It doesn't look like much from the outside but my oh my, it sure is a nice view of the simplicity of the beach! The room is modern, spacious. When we first walked in, you hear calm chill music, along with candles that light up automatically (turn off in the morning, battery operated). They had a huge Costco blanket meant for the king bed which was SO nice and cozy! The shower is nice! LOVED the papaya soap!!! Such a nice scent. They also provided a couple of makeup wipes as well. When you have the patio door open, you can hear the waves and calmness of the beach! Lots of cars parked to clam dig...and you can drive on the beach too! (There are signs!) Lastly, the staff that work there are SO amazing! I've never had service like that. They provided recommendations of where to go for gooood chowder haha. Both Thomas and Frank, and I believe Katie, were just friendly, and hospitable. Thomas actually refunded my money for the third night since they were running a special on purchasing 2 nights, third night was free! We will definitely come back!

Everyday we went for long walks along the beach and explored the places around. They have a walking distance resort. Seabrook is only 5 minutes away. We watched Twilight saga and visited Forks (2hours away from the beach house). We also visited Ruby beach and it is gorgeous place !!! The following two times I stayed in the Reunions and Retreats (R&R) house and was treated to the lavish modernity of such a new cabin. The double-sided shower in the master bathroom is a nice touch, and the beach access couldn't be more convenient - literally across the street! The hot tub with beach views was pretty great, too. This past time we had an unpleasant encounter with other tenants, but the owner was prompt, courteous, and helped us resolve the matter with ease. I'll definitely be coming out here again and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!
