I've purchased e-bikes online (direct purchase from…read moremanufacturer) but was never satisfied and when issues arose, ex.: the bike stopped working with 164 miles on it, that company didn't want to cover it. I decided to shop local instead and after a lot of research, I thought that it would be worth my while paying a visit to Seacoast e-Bikes. Wow!! Am I glad I did. The lady that assisted me was not only very knowledgeable but extremely patient and made sure that my questions were answered. She pulled no less than a half dozen bikes for me to try and seemed vested in making sure that I had the right bike with the right fit. She wasn't pushy or even tried to oversell. You could see that she had my interest, just like if she was the customer. The service didn't stop there. After picking my bike, they made sure that it was well adjusted and road worthy. The owner even checked up on me to see if everything was in order. While waiting for my bike to be ready, I also witnessed how returning customers were treated ... It reassured me that I made the right choice. We have another bike to buy for this upcoming season, and we are heading to Seacoast e-Bikes without even looking at other dealerships because they do customer service the old fashion way. I have put over 400 miles on it and it's going strong. I bought the bike from a dealer, Seacoast e-Bikes, because it is a fairly complex piece of machinery which requires some amount of care and feeding. Just about the time the bike was ready for its' tuneup (free at Seacoast), I got a flat tire. The flat was in the rear wheel with all sorts of connections to the chain, motor, gears etc. I dropped the bike off at Seacoast and the fixe the flat, and did the tuneup for a total of $50. If I had bought the bike via mail order I would have paid a lot more. They even dropped the bike off at my house free of cost. Shane, Frank and Steve and the rest of the staff really care about their customers, and know bike maintenance and repair cold. There is no reason to buy an e-bike mail order, because sooner or later it will need service and maintenance. If I could give 10 stars on this review I would. s

They truly just want you to get the best bike for yourself. Not the most expensive or the flashiest bike. They know their stuff and they truly just want to match everyone to a bike that will make them happy and give them the best riding experience. Their repair staff is also top notch. I have had some whacky issues with my bikes over the years and they have solved them every single time. Several years ago, I purchased an Orbea mountain bike through them. Unfortunately, there was a manufacturers defect with the dropper post (not Papa Wheelie's fault - a manufacturing issue). The staff at Papa Wheelie's took my bike in and took care of the entire process in dealing with the claim and getting the part from the manufacturer and got me back on my bike quite quickly considering many of the parts were coming in from Spain. I am always team support your local bike shop, but I am specifically team support Papa Wheelies as your lbs, because they truly care. Yes, you can order a bike online direct from manufacturers, but nothing beats the experience of going in and working with the people at Papa Wheelies to figure out what bike works for you and making adjustments to that bike or getting a bike fit to make sure that it is the best possible machine you can ride. It's an investment and Papa Wheelies makes that process 100 times easier. Lastly, I'll add that bikes can be expensive. Tax on expensive things can be expensive. New Hampshire doesn't have taxes. Are you doing the math with me? If you are buying a bike for several thousand dollars in other New England states, you can end up paying several hundred dollars in taxes. You can avoid that by heading on up to beautiful tax free New Hampshire and buying your bike at Papa Wheelies.

Said "in stock" and available for pick up in Danvers Tuesday morning or seabrook Wednesday morning. (Danvers was closed Monday). I chose to pick up in seabrook Wednesday since we are in NH and couldn't get down to Danvers Tuesday anyway. My confirmation email said "ships from western cycle" to seabrook location. My receipt was from the Danvers location. I got a call Tuesday at 5:30pm from seabrook saying that they didn't have the bike I ordered in stock at either location. I explained what my confirmation email said and the very sympathetic employee from seabrook said he would call Danvers so see if they had put the bike aside without his knowledge. Danvers was already closed for the day so he offered to call and get back to me in the morning. 10:15 Wednesday I get a call from the owner, with a big attitude, telling me that they don't have the bike. Zero sympathy or compassion for me, the customer. He claims it was in seabrook and must have sold right before I ordered but doesn't know when. I was obviously upset, having ordered Monday and only finding out two days later that they sold me a bike they didn't have. The owner acted annoyed that he even had to call me and said "I don't know what to tell ya". He offered to cancel the order or order the bike (which would come in 7-10 business days), but we are leaving on vacation and needed a bike sooner. He said "sorry" like he was forced to, and was just overall not nice to me. I would recommend Buchika or Philbrick's for your bike needs. Philbricks went above and beyond and legit built a bike for us same day (normally a 2-4 day turn around) so we'd have it for vacation.
