I have travel all around the United States and I have also had a lot of opportunity to try a bunch of different Chinese restaurants and never had a bad meal, until today. Ocean Garden Buffet has great variety but lacks in flavor and customer care. Cold good was the norm for hot food and vise versa for the meant to be cold food. What lacked in temperature also lacked in flavor. The spivey chicken that that had out was sour and sweet. I love coming to this buffet every Saturday .The food is always good tasting and the servers are lovely. The only thing I don't like about this Restaurant is the background music. They play the same music over and over and over again .I would love to have some more modern music or none at all If you read this review please change your music PLEAS. I'm sorry. I couldn't continue to be lazy any longer. The one star review that's been on here for Ocean Garden has been bugging me since I first read it. Something had to be said. My wife's family lives in Toledo so we're visiting quite often. And on the countless number of times we've come, there isn't one thing I look forward to more than eating a meal at Ocean Garden. I love food in general and Chinese food specifically even more so. I've tried to visit and try every Chinese restaurant I've come across in my home town of Columbus and have definitely been to every Chinese buffet in my area. Having said that, there isn't a better Chinese buffet I've been to, compared to Ocean Garden. The food is always fresh and consistent as well as delicious. If you love Chinese buffets and are looking for one to go to in Toledo, you owe it to yourself to at least check this place out. Great service. Food was okay. Great options for kids! My one year old ate great here. Sushi looked like it had been sitting out a while which disappointed me. Tried many typical Chinese dishes and they were what I expected but nothing like over the top amazing. Went here with daughter for dinner. Pros: Good selection, lots of the usual items plus a decent amount of seafood/fish. Daughters fave was the salmon. All you can eat crab legs and I'm there,the mussels in black bean sauce were really good the food was decent I'd definitely eat here again.

My husband and I really like this place. The buffet is always stocked, clean, and attended to. The servers are friendly and we've always had good service. I think their buffet is one of the best in the area. We love their coconut shrimp and sushi rolls! Not only do they have the buffet, they also have a hibachi cook who will cook for you from their selection of raw food/veggies. To my knowledge this Ocean Garden Buffet has only been in this location for about 5 years. It opened up when Country Buffet or Hometown Buffet went out of business. I found the buffet sometime ago, but did not go back for awhile. About a month ago I went back and took a better look. The food is excellent for this type of restaurant. The variety was what struck me, it covers a wide range and can satisfy the American to Chinese appetites. It even has a "Mongolian BBQ", who knew?? The BBQ reminded me of one in Taipei and was just as good. The service was attentive and polite. I would recommend the Ocean as both an Eastern & Western Buffet, but lean to the Chinese a bit more. read more

It was subpar. It's a beautiful place but during our recent visit several items on the buffet were cold. It's rather expensive for really the lack of choices you have. Almost one whole table is pure American items. Kind of a let down. read more

I called them at 9:15PM & ask what time they closed they said 10pm my family and I got their at 9.25pm we ask to be seated they told us look at the food no more will be bought out you ether want it or not the manger said. I replied since theirs not much out and its most likely not fresh would we be able to get a discount and He said you want or you dont no discount good buy. then stared at my family and I until I we walked out. I called and he did not mention that the food would not be fresh and that no more fresh food would be bought out by the time i would Arvie shows me that my bushiness is not that import to them. Lot of variety and pretty good but on weekends you pay extra for crab and they intentionally hold back on putting it out so you don't get hardly any. Watched an employee eating behind the sushi bar and never washed his hands also. read more

The other Chinese buffets in town reek in comparison. This is heads above the rest. Call me crazy, but there is a totally random frosted dessert on the buffet there that to me is worth the price of admission alone. That dessert aside, I like the Mongolian grill option, the sushi, and the wide variety of buffet items and most of all the quality that far surpasses other local china buffet. BTW, am I alone feeling annoyed by those people who hover over the buffet waiting for the crab legs and then stack 30 on their plate? I don't even want one! I'm just saying...it annoys me! read more

This ain't too bad for a buffet. Sometimes it can be hit or miss though, but most of the time it's fine.

worst service of my entire life... as long as i have been dining out i have never had such bad service ever, th host was horrible and rude to us, the waitresses were even more rude and when we complained about the service, the gentleman at the register told us that if we didnt like the way we were treated then we didnt ever have to return again, i have never been treated so poorly, nor will i ever reccomend this place to anybody!!! read more

The staff was very nice and didn't slack like the ones at Honk Konk . The food was well prepared and lets face it all buffet's are the same price . Love how they did the coconut milk shrimp ; best I have had in the area . Lots to pick from BUT the food seems uninspired. If you are a crab leg fan you WILL NOT get " all you can eat " because they bring out maybe 1 tray an hour and the "hot butter" isn't!!!! I'm not sure what it is but it has no taste and is not butter, maybe some type of margarine or spread. To make the best of a bad situation try putting in some salt and juice of one or two lemon wedges. All in all you might want to pass this one up. read more

Not bad to visit every once in a while. For the most part, I like their food and plan on going back. Just keep in mind to be careful of the uncooked shell fish and food that seems to sit out for a while (food from the grill). My close relative got terrible food poisoning after eating there. They don't seem to change up their food very much like Golden Coral buffet. If you don't want to fight the crowd at Golden Coral, come here. They do need to get some more variety however. So, eating there once in a blue moon is good. You will get sick of the "same-old" stuff if you eat there more frequently, Serving staff does their job efficiently. read more

I am a fan but I will never go between lunch and dinner again. Went there on a Thursday afternoon about 3:30 and everything I put on my plate was cool or cold. When the waitress asked if everything was OK I said the food seems cold and she said OK then. :) Not sure she understood English.
