Loved this place! Came here for a late dinner and it was just what we needed on a cold night. Their food was delicious and the service was excellent and FAST. Everything was hot and flavorful and the portions are big enough for left overs which we've enjoyed the next day and it's just as good. Most dishes come with rice and a soup. The soups are hot and delicious as well. My absolute favorite was their salt baked shrimp with chili. Not too spicy but it does have a kick. It's garlicky, salty, and just so flavorful and you get a big portion of shrimp. Their sesame chicken was also really good. Crispy, sweet and filling. Definitely coming back soon.

I've passed by and pondered on Flower Drum many many times. Finally, I've decided to give them a try. I ordered the food to be delivered but I was still satisfied. The portions are HUGE. I definitely did not have to order two meals but I wanted to try both, so no regrets ofcourse. I ordered the shrimp fried rice with extra egg. They took the extra egg request verrryyy seriously as you can see from my photo. I'm not mad about it but I won't request that again LOL. I also ordered the Almond Boneless Chicken. I've never tried ABC before but saw many positive comments about this dish of theirs. Overall, I enjoyed all the food I ordered. It was so hot when it was delivered, so I ate both (as much as my stomach could handle) right away. The fried rice was well seasoned, I did add some soy sauce to elevate the flavor a little bit. The chicken for the ABC was fresh, juicy, but bland. However, over the white rice and smothered with gravy it was pretty good. I enjoyed the full combination of the meal a lot. Oh yeah, the egg roll was bomb! I look forward to trying different dishes the next time I visit.

Portions were large. Food was tasty. Service was good. Prices were reasonable. A great place that reminds me of my old favorite Chinese restaurant. We will become a regular customer.

Every now and then when I eat Chinese, I'll order some spicy Szechuan, just because I like semi-hot and hot food. Usually, however, I'll order ABC, A.K.A., almond boneless chicken. Unlike much of the Chinese and American Chinese menu, ABC really seems to stick to your ribs. Flower Drum makes some of the best almond boneless chicken in town; even one of the the 1-star reviews makes an exception for the ABC! Order it and you'll get an ample portion of chicken, coated perfectly with a smooth and crunchy cornstarch based breading. It's served on a bed of lettuce with, maybe some Chinese cabbage, and it's topped with a creamy, thick brown sauce and plenty of almond slivers. You also get rice and a fortune cookie. (My fortune said "Never eat at a wet market in a city that is home to a national virology laboratory." I have no idea how Interpret that, but it sounds ominous). To be honest, I may have gotten a batch over the years that wasn't quite up to standards, and I have had better almond boneless chicken in town (Yang's, Golden City), but flower drum makes a great product. Although Chinese food travels well, and although the logistics of Flower Drum's "take out only" system seem pretty efficient, and although Flower Drum was never much on atmosphere, I'll give FD a fifth star if they reopen their dining room...sometimes I just hate eating in the car.

Princess chicken. Loads of chicken, fresh veggies, and peanuts in a spicy sauce.

The best almond boneless chicken in Toledo. The Flower Drum chicken is also wonderful, as are the szechuan chicken, Singapore noodles, princess chicken, fried rice, hot and sour soup, and eggrolls. Huge portions, great service, and great prices.

Tonight was our lucky night as we were seated within minutes of our arrival. QQ Kitchen is very unassuming upon entry. Small sitting area that was filled with people waiting for their take-out orders. The dining area is small and decor is simple. There is one TV monitor and tonight, "Triple D" (Diners, Drive-Ins, Dives) was on. How appropriate, huh? Menu has a lot to offer making it challenging to arrive at a snap decision. Many great choices. We started off with Spring Rolls. Very refreshing taste and the peanut dipping sauce was quite tasty. Our dinner selections: Drunken Noodles; and Pad Thai w Shrimp. Both these dishes were excellent and very fairly priced for the food quality and portion size. A great deal of foot traffic for take-out orders during the entire time we were in the restaurant. Good sign. We had a fantastic meal and we will definitely be back yo visit QQ Kitchen. Well done!

We've been here twice now. None of the dishes disappointed. We order off the authentic menu. They even have a "special" authentic menu that is seen only when you enter the restaurant. We asked 1 - low salt, 2 - low oil, 3 - no MSG and these preferences were honored. They even called back saying one of the dishes was a bit heavy in oil so that we could potentially order something else. They called us when the takeout order was ready. The Midwest needs more restaurants like these. If I lived closer I would come way more often. Best of all you get this for a very fair price point. As a self-acclaimed special order person, I recognize that I may be annoying to a busy carryout business... but I've finally cracked the code here! The last two orders, I've kept it simple. Today for dinner, ordered for two people. By the way, they only take phone orders and no longer online. I ordered a large Won Ton Soup; a Vegetable Egg Foo Young with sauce on the side- and was told they always put it on the side (yay!). For myself, I ordered the steamed Chicken and Broccoli with a side of garlic sauce. Nothing too complicated. I was told the total cost would be $27.99 (from memory) - which is a great value these days and considering the generous portions of delicious food! (Sorry, getting ahead of myself!) The ambiance is very basic, as you would expect from a strictly carryout business. However, everything looked clean. Most importantly, their inspection score was 100/100 and that perfect score reassured me that everything in the kitchen was health compliant. The customer service is always consistently friendly. The order was ready on time and everything was nicely packaged in containers that ensured minimal leakage, if any. The orders both came with lots of rice and generous containers of sauces- more than we needed. My mom highly approved of her Vegetable Egg Foo Young and the sauce. She said it wasn't greasy, although fried. It came with 3 huge patties! The Won Ton Soup is always a winner in her book, although it went in the fridge for tomorrow. My Steamed Chicken with Broccoli was perfect. Chicken was burried underneath lots of fresh, green broccoli and the Garlic Sauce was the perfect balance of spicy and garlic; again, far more sauce than I needed. I would estimate that this meal portion will provide three or more meals. Check out the photos below. Highly recommend this spot for high quality and delicious Chinese carryout!

Well, both of these places are closed on Sunday, so we kept driving, and wow, yes, there really is a restaurant, just called "Asian Cuisine" in this strip mall. It's actually quite large; apparently it used to be the location of China Crown Buffet at some point. Anyhow, the ambiance is kind of flat. Lots of green vinyl booths. You can tell it used to be a buffet restaurant. But that is pretty much the only negative. When we came, there were several families and large parties, most of whom were Chinese. A good sign for a Chinese restaurant. The menu is pretty big, with lots of Thai and Chinese favorites. We ordered a steamed tofu dish, a seafood entrée, and a whole roast duck. Where can you get a whole roast duck these days without ordering a day ahead? Here apparently! And it is delicious, as was all of our food. Prices were quite reasonable (something like $22-24 for the duck, $9 for the steamed tofu with your choice of sauce, and about the same for the seafood stir fry dish). The hot-and-sour soup was immensely flavorful, smoky in a way, and only $1.99 for a small. Service was the friendliest I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. Friendly waitress, prompt drink refills. If this were SF or NYC, I'd say 4-stars, but for Toledo, this place is an absolute gem. This will be my go-to source for Chinese from now on. I can't wait to try the Thai, as if it is as good as the Chinese, it will save me the drive to Maumee (for Bangkok Kitchen).
