I ordered to go just walking in. I had egg rolls and Mongolian beef. Their sign boasted they made everything in restaurant and you could taste it! I couldn't taste any overpowering sugary or msg flavors. The egg rolls were especially crisp and fresh, although I probably should have waited a few more minutes to bite into them. They just smelled so good! Delicious food, fast service. If you're looking for a place to sit down though, you're out of luck. King's is definitely focused on takeout and delivery. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday and it wasn't all that bad. Hot & Sour soup was pretty amazing, but the pepper steak was ehh. The egg rolls were fresh and good, but I was disappointed that they didn't have their own home made sauce to dip them in. The kitchen did actually look much cleaner that most Chinese restaurants and the owners wore cool chef hats! I'll be back if I'm in the Ohio area again. read more

I am sorry to have to post this on what use to be a favorite restaurant of ours. However it seems in the past six months the quality and mistakes have increased. Last night you ordered our take out. When my wife got home all our egg rolls were missing. The chicken Lo Mein was horribly dry and the Jumbo Shrimp w Szechuan Style has become no more than shrimp and onions. Please save yourselves the disappointment of ordering the Vegetable Fried Rice for it also is dry. Very sorry to say but after years of supporting the restaurant we will no longer go here. read more

Unexpectedly great! Read all these mediocre reviews and was expecting mediocre food. But it wasn't. Picked up and brought it home. The wait was a few minutes more than anticipated but they really packed the containers full of food to make up for it. The sweet and sour chicken came with the sauce separate to keep the chicken crispy. And crispy it was! Perfectly golden brown. The crab Rangoon had big pieces of Krab in it and the Schezuan chicken was tender in a delicious sauce. Highly recommend for takeout. read more

They were really nice...that's the best I can say. We ordered Mongolian Beef (a little spicy) and and General Tso's (no spice). After a long wait they brought the wrong order: two General Tso's. I would have just eaten it but it was way too sweet and was just chicken with no broccoli. They were very nice about the mixup and cooked up some Mongolian Beef, but it was pretty bad too. It had maybe a small handful of beef and was almost all onions. It also tasted bland and sugary, and none of the "little spicy" I ordered. Like canned brown goo slathered over onions. King Chef is my families favorite Chinese food in Toledo. It's not super close to our home, but we are willing to make the drive regardless! It's not much to look at, I wouldn't necessarily want to stay there and eat because it's kind of small but the take-out food is completely worth it. There has not been one thing that my family has not ordered, that we do not love. We have tried chicken fried rice, pork fried rice, chicken lo mein, chicken with peapods, ribs, fried dumplings, crab Rangoon, Spring rolls, eggrolls, beef with mushrooms, general tsos chicken, Szechuan chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sweet-and-sour pork, Szechuan beef, pork lo mein, moo shu pork, almond boneless chicken, egg drop soup, wonton soup, crab Rangoon... no matter what we seem to order it is always fresh, always hot, always delicious! His Brocolli - any way - is absolutely crisp, fresh, and delicous...and I have yet to find a more fullfilling Kung Pao Chicken. We moved to San Diego County and what I miss most about Ohio is King's Chef! We have not found anything close as good in north San Diego County - which is three times the size of Lucas County...oh how I miss King Chef. Don't bother asking for snow peas or broccoli, they don't have it. The Mongolian beef was more like light brown gravy onion soup with "beef". The Sichuan beef was the same 3/4 onions with a sprinkling of "beef" with carrots and green peppers that were boiled to oblivion. Do not waste your money here. read more

I have been a customer for years and the food was always good but not anymore. There are new owners that have downgraded the quality of the food. We paid $45 for a bag of oily food. It was like someone had poured oil into the plastic bag containing our appetizers. When we called the restaurant it was very clear that the new owner did not care and did not want to correct the problem.
