My daughter went there today for a pedi and mani at 1 pm . The quality of service was poor . There were issues with the manicure the shape was off . My daughter pointed out the issue. The nail tech screamed at my daughter in front of the entire salon. My daughter felt extremely embarrassed. The vibe in this place has been off for some time the nail tech has been nice. I really like this salon. I took my mom here to get a manicure and pedicure with callus remover and the service was great. I made an appointment in advance but still had to wait with her for about a half hour. They were packed on a Saturday afternoon. My mom is disabled and the way the staff accommodated her was really great customer service. They were patient and kind, and let her wait for a half hour in a pedicure chair so she can soak her feet in warm water. The manicure as very thorough. I get my nails done once a week so I know a good one when I see one. Prices are totally reasonable too. Will definitely take my mom here again. read more

Wow! Even as I was in the process of getting my nails done I was ready to give a 5 star review. I know you don't know me six degrees from Kevin Bacon but one thing I will say is that I am a little particular about the way my nails are done and Nina's unparalleled attention to detail made this the best manicure I've ever had. I even went as far as booking another appointment as soon as I said thank you to her. She is really great- I cannot stress that enough. I am so happy the place down the block was closed or I never would have come here. I just found my go to spot. Oh! And for those who are also looking for a review on cleanliness and such- it was nice and clean. I saw other women cleaning the stations as soon as they finished with other clients. Nice fresh smell. They ask you to wash your hands as soon as you walk in. The gentleman who greets everyone also walks around and tidies up too (and washes his hands as soon as he's done). The owner is rude, he likes to put customers in their place and doesn't care about his customers. I made an appointment for gel pedicure and gel nails. After I got my gel pedicure, I communicated to the girl and even showed a photo of nails with tips and one color. She said ok. She cut my nails and filed them(something anyone can do themselves). I remind her to put on tips (nail extensions) and she even tells me how I want almond shape/ round so I figured she understood. Then she proceeds with filing and says she's done and that she will start the gel. I remind her that I want the tips and she's not understanding so she calls the owner to come. The owner always likes to talk down to his customers. He tells me it's too late in the day to do nail tips and I can come another day. I was thinking to come another day and then I ask how much is my total. Turns out I have to pay $14 just because she cut my nails and filed them?! I tell her my nails aren't done and no polish and that Ill come another day and I've been coming for over a year but why do I have to pay $14 if my nails were only cut? I'm so disappointed. I will go elsewhere, but mainly because of the apathetic attitude I got from the owner showing he doesn't care about others and only about making money off of people. He is can called me strange since apparently gel nails aren't done on tips, but only powder gel which how am I supposed to know that if I'm not a nail technician? Never coming here again. I just needed a pedicure and I come in, the Chinese guy said give me a few minutes, okay so anyway to make story short, the girl was very rough and cut my little pinky toes in two places where the cuticle is.. I have been coming to this salon for a while now. But it wasn't until two horrible experiences here that I've decided to write this review. My friend and I came to get our nails done, and she got a gel manicure done. Knowing her, she takes very good care of her nails and manicures. Everything cracked and began peeling only 3 days later which was a total disaster considering how much she paid. Also, I know this salon can get pretty busy, so I made sure to make appointments for regular manicures for my mother and I. This was for a Saturday. Our appointments were for 4:00 and we are arrived 4:04, exactly only 4 mins late. The boss of the place proceeded by giving me an attitude and telling me that because we are late he can't seat us anymore. I proceeded by explaining to him, that for only four minutes late, we shouldn't be penalized so harshly. He told me that I can either wait up to 40 mins or I can leave. He was very rude and unprofessional. Definitely don't want to come back here again. There are so many other salons that are amazing and treat you like a human. read more

I beg you! Don't do go here! Trust me I've been going to this place off and on for over a year and I always had issues with this place. I've always gave this place a chance until today. Now I'm in the ER ready to get my finger nail removed after receiving a acrylic. One of the workers filed my nails (to the point of cutting my skin) and applied the acrylic & caused an infection leading me to the hospital. First off, I'd like to say that the place is very clean & the guy that works there (the owner I think) seems to be a sweetheart! But those non English speaking workers are rushy, rushy, disrespectful & impatient! They speak a whole lot of junk in their language coming from a person that knows a lot mandarin. They will try to pressure you into spending more money which I hate. They will apply more services without you knowing such as ( UV gels ETC) & it's happened to me. Please. Reconsider. I walk in and right away they wanna soak my nails in gallons of acetone so I told the pimp over there- Jimmy that I only want the machine to take off the polish. They used the machine to not only take off the polish but the "gel" from my previous mani. Now I have painted paper on my hands and everything I touch bends my nails. Shape sucks, color sucks! I always call around an hour or two in advance for an appointment, and i get in without any issues. Walk ins are definitely accepted and usually not a problem to get in. But I don't like to take the chance of having to wait 5-10 minutes that I really don't have. So that is the only reason I call. I'm always getting either a manicure and pedicure ($20), otherwise, I get a color gel manicure with a pedicure ($40). Amazing prices for literally one of the best nail salons in Brooklyn. & THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: - they use these plastic liners for they pedicure tubs. They are fresh for each person, so you don't need to fear any contamination. -they don't sanitize in stupid uv light machines that do nothing, but in really expensive industrial steamers that you find a dentist cleaning his tools with. LOVE THIS. This really is the mark of a fine salon. - The owner/manager, John, really makes an efforts to get to know all of his customers and make sure they leave with a smile on their face. He talks to you, helps you with your coat, puts on your shoes for you, and asks if you enjoyed your experience. Great management! One of the first impressions made on me, and it stuck! -well staffed, over 20 girls = less wait time. 7 pedicure chairs, and i think 10-12 manicure stations, 6 drying stations. This place does not even deserve one star. It only gets a star for using disposable liners. I had an appointment today for a manicure. The lady cut me FOuR times and I was bleeding for about 20 min on one nail. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. The nail polish that I selected was old and the brush was bad. I encouraged her to change the brush but she assured me that she will fix it. My polish was uneven, with streaks. The manager saw all of this as it was happening and said that it will be fixed. I waited patiently for someone to fix it and then they wanted to charge me $2. This is not about the money. It is about the principle. You don't charge a customer $2 to change polish for a very poor job. I was very disappointed with my experience and how unprofessionally my situation was handled. This salon is all about getting people in and out and does not care about the customer satisfaction. I kindly asked that they took my nail polish off and I left. Stay away from this place! read more

I had acrylic nails for about half a year and I went to this place for that full length of time. I loved my nail tech, Sofia, she took care of any problem I had and if I decide to get nails again I'd go to her. She listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I wanted. I've had one nail break within that time frame (it was def my fault because I'm a klutz). The place is VERY busy so you definitely need to come on time for your appointments, walk-ins have a low success rate here so if you want to go, call and make an appointment. I've heard some people had to plan an appointment for their next visit while in their chair and it would be sometimes 3 weeks away due to how busy they are and how busy that person was. I like knowing that if I made an appointment it was kept and I would get a call 5 or 10 min before my appointment time asking if I was on my way, which to some can be annoying but if I was running 5 min late I said so and I didn't have a problem and I didn't get turned away. I've been here several times, hesitating over whether or not to leave a bad review, but the last time sealed the deal. Their manicures/pedicures are adequate--the chairs are comfortable enough, they use disposable liners in their foot tubs (but they don't change them between customers so, like, what's the point?), and once I sit down, things go decently and the nails are done alright. However, there are some HUGE problems that leave me looking for another salon. They don't take instructions very well, which is problematic in a nail technician--if I ask for my nails shorter, they leave them long. If I ask for them long, they cut them shorter than I've requested. Plus, my nails never come out straight--they're always slightly slanted to one side, even after I've requested they not do that. My tipping point, though, was my most recent visit. I called up in advance to make an appointment on a Friday afternoon and was confirmed. When I arrived, there was a small line of people, so I let them know I was there for my appointment. I then waited 45 minutes past my appointment time, before letting them know I was leaving. They offered to have me seen immediately at that point, but it's too little too late. read more

Easily one of my favorite nail salons and definitely the best salon in the area. First off, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. This salon is always jam packed pretty much 24/7 so just call ahead to make an appointment and you'll be set. The reason I love this salon so much is that you really get quality everytime you come here. The staff works very intently every time and tends to whatever you may need. They always have positive attitudes and are so pleasant to be around even when some of the customers are disrespectful. The owner, John, is very sweet and accommodating and always looking out for everyone that comes in.The madi-pedis and other services are well priced (pretty much like everything else in the area and way less than in the city) and worth it! Additionally, this salon ensures sanitary conditions, which you can visibly see (i.e. the plastic liners for pedicure tubs as other had mentioned). Love, love this place! No complaints. read more

I went to this salon today in hopes of having a good girls day with my mom, sister, and her friend. At first it was going good the pedicure was fine. I usually go to a different salon but my mom chose ocean for us to go to. I have powder gel and at my regular salon they skip over the nails that have tips on them and don't put them in acetone. The owner decided without asking to cut those two nails off. once we get started on my nails the lady kept asking if i wanted to cut them even though i told her i don't. Towards the end of my nails, the tech threw the nail color thing (where it shows all the colors they have), causing it to fall on the floor and the plastic screen that separates me and the worker to fall on my head. the nails look bumpy and are not the shape that I want. I went to pay and got my sister's friend to go give the tips to the women that did our nails. the owner in front of everyone started pointing out who I didn't give a tip to even though they didn't do good service. I'm adding a little bit into this review because a very smart woman told me that I should specify in more detail why this disgusting place got 1-star in my book. When I came to do tips, 3 people worked on my nails... One woman started to work on me, then sat me back on the waiting area couch with sticky gluey fingers and dusty nails. Then about 15 mins later her friend, who was talking smack the whole time I was there...( ill be the first to say this doesn't happen but you know when you just KNOW they're talking about YOU?) anyway she "finished me" never asked me what I wanted done, every time I asked she rolled her eyes and turned to say something to the first woman. This was particularly annoying as when I get the one chance every two months to do something nice and relaxing, this is what happened. Needless to say they both INSISTED I do a top coat for an extra $5 because "den it wirr be mo' shiny"... More money??? No thanks.... I'm done with this place. They also charged me extra for using a credit card and didn't tell me... After which they wouldn't stop following me around with the merchant copy receipt wondering about the tip as I went from woman to woman to eventually drying station in which I finally got peace and quiet. I did end up going back to give this place one more chance. This time I brought my own tools (file, cuticle pusher, cuticle cutter, etc - i literally walked in with a little makeup bag full of all the possible tools) because I just didn't see the standard of cleanliness that I'm used to elsewhere. I called ahead and came on time. I still ended up waiting in the pedicure chair for about 10 minutes before anyone even greeted me. The woman doing my feet was in a rush and hurt me TWICE! The second time I was in excruciating pain almost to the point of crying!! I asked the owner for a cup of water, which he DID bring, so that helped me calm down but it didn't make me any happier about the situation. I SHOULD have left, but I typically give people another chance. The owner SHOULD have footed the bill, but he could care less about me, it was about the money. Since then I DEFINITELY make sure not to go there any more. In addition, to prevent contamination, this salon uses disposable beauty/nail supplies which makes it super safe and worry free. They always accept walk in's and the service/price is great. My favorite nail tech is Sofia and there have been a few times where she accidentally nicked me but was always mindful of it after.
