We loved our one night stay at Ocean Park Inn! The room was cutely decorated with a beachy sunshine vibe. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was 10/10. We had a glorious beach view from our balcony and you can walk right down to the beach from the pool! Breakfast was a nice spread with several different options. The only downside was parking was $35 dollars a night and the garage was very difficult to navigate with a larger vehicle.

We visit this area every year and usually stay at another hotel nearby. This time, we decided to extend our trip by one night and try something new after seeing this hotel had been renovated and was offering a great promo deal on Booking.com. We're so glad we did as this might just become our new go-to spot! We booked an Oceanfront Queen on the 2nd floor, and the experience exceeded expectations. The view and ocean waves at night were amazing, and while the hotel is in a lively area with bars nearby, the sound of the waves helped drown out the noise. We never heard our neighbors and slept great. From check-in to check-out, the staff was incredible - friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The hospitality stood out with thoughtful touches like an informational sheet at check-in, a full hot breakfast, and in-room coffee. The biggest highlight? The modern efficiency of the room. Everything was designed for comfort and convenience: * Raised beds with storage space underneath. * A brilliant multi-functional sliding door that doubles as a closet, fridge, safe, and ironing board storage. * An epic bathroom with plush robes, pool towels, plentiful hooks, and wall-mounted toiletries (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion). * A full-size couch and two rolling tables for working or dining. * A large TV (around 55 inches, though not a smart TV so no streaming services). * Farm-style sliding shutters so you can control the natural light. * Queen bed with lights, side tables, and outlets on both sides. Everything felt new, clean, and comfortable, and while the balcony was small, it was still a great place to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. This was an efficiently designed, comfortable, and well-thought-out stay, and we'll definitely be back!

This hotel is beautifully remodeled and the staff is excellent! Jonathan is the best and our stay was fantastic. Will stay again for sure.

Located just to the right of the pier seen here, fantastic location

Spent my second trip at Ocean Park Inn and I can't suggest it enough! In short, amazing staff, beautiful facilities, solid pool and great location. They obviously spent a lot of time with the design, your rooms are well laid out, well kept and each time I've loved my view. The hallways even are adorned with huge photos of the area as wallpaper with bright yellows and lots of natural light. The pool is warm, with plenty of lounge chairs and a great hot tub. Grab a drink up front and enjoy sitting in the hot tub enjoying the sounds of the waves right outside of the hotel. Location wise, you do tend to have a lot of partiers at the local clubs which you can partake in or not, but the hotel itself never feels any of the exuberance of the night. Enjoy your evening's however you want but know the hotel will be a tranquil location when you're done. There are tons of places to shop, eat or lounge at and the staff always have great suggestions. The underground valet (free) parking makes accessing anything not in the immediate vicinity really easy. My only ding to an otherwise amazing facility is the included breakfast is really underwhelming. I ended up walking to one of the many coffee shops nearby for my caffeine and food, but the breakfast is free so utilize it or skip it. Overall I love this place and fully expect to come back!

Location, location, location! This hotel is perfectly situated along the dazzling Pacific Beach boardwalk. From the fresh modern décor and surf motifs to the helpful customer service, it's a fantastic hotel. Our only minor hiccup was the noise level inside the first floor of the building. (Overall, I would not choose a room located near the housekeeping space or the breakfast area, given slamming doors, squeaking carts, and beeping machines, and there is apparently not much soundproofing between floors, as we heard children playing in the room above us until well after 11 p.m. That said, we generally did not hear any late-night noise from the boardwalk.) Our room was labeled a "nonview" king, but we had a patio that looked out at the pool, with the ocean just beyond, which was a wildly pleasant surprise. It was also well appointed, with a 55" TV, mini fridge, plenty of towels, and other amenities (about the only thing lacking was perhaps a hand-towel stand or bar in the bathroom). It was particularly smart of the design team to install sliding shutter panels at the patio door, with no heavy drapes blocking the view -- dark when you want to sleep but plenty of adjustable, view-centric light throughout the day. We also thought the parking area was better than expected. Yes, many of the spaces are for compact cars, but having seen several comparable options across PB, Ocean Park's parking was convenient, secure, and decently lit. Since the hotel is located along a cul-de-sac at Grand, it's also ideal for guests who need transportation drop-offs or pickups, since it's a safe and easy place to meet a rideshare driver. A fun place to live your best beach life!

We attended a conference in San Diego, and we rented four rooms here. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so kind and helpful. Check in was a breeze, parking was a relief, and our rooms were spotless! The rooms were huge! King beds and a pull out couch. So many outlets!! You can charge everything! The rooms were clean, which is no easy task for a beach hotel! Every step they've taken to modernize the place is classy and noticed! The entire trip was pleasant because we knew we were cared for and safe. Thank you so much for accommodating us on this trip !

honestly this place rocks! i loved everything about it. no place is perfect, but we absolutely loved our time here. the hotel is walkable to so much to do- the beach, coffee, food, shopping. the hotel is directly on the beach with amazing views from the room balcony. we found that we needed the $35 garage parking during our one weekend night (sunday). for our other two nights during the week, we found free street parking. just be willing to walk a block or two. there is a free breakfast in the lobby daily until 10am which makes for an easier day when you're traveling. overall so glad we found this place and chose to stay and we will definitely be back. all the staff were amazing and friendly as well. i recommend it to everyone!

Our first time in Pacific Beach and I made the perfect choice for our weekend stay. Definitely, worth the price. We had the ocean front view and it was perfect. We stayed during the weekend, didn't realize it gets so crowded. We just people watched and watched the sunset from our room. The room was super comfy and welcoming. Room had comfy robes and beach towels. It was definitely a view to wake up in the morning and we couldn't hear the loud crowds from our room

I am so happy I found this place via AARP! Located in the heart of the Gaslamp District, I had never heard of this hotel prior to searching. Upon checking in, the desk clerk was very friendly, efficient, and answered any questions that I had. As for the room, he put us up on the top (4th) floor. Room is the perfect size for two people. Very clean, warm, inviting, and has some really cute and convenient amenities such as a pineapple themed USB quad port at the desk, along with a Keurig machine (had I known that I'd have brought my own Starbucks K-cups)! The bed was nice and comfy with lots of soft but supportive pillows and two separate comforter blankets so you're not fighting for covers if you are sharing the bed with someone or your significant other. Bathroom is very modern and clean. A hairdryer is hanging in the bathroom as well. The only item missing was an iron and an ironing board; however, you can request that at the front desk. If you are looking for a hotel with a gym, laundry facilities on site, and a full breakfast buffet or continental breakfast, then this place is not for you; however, if those things don't matter to you {I typically look for those types of hotels during a longer stay) then this hotel is all you need. You also get other unexpected creature comforts such as Starbucks coffee in the lounge along with 4 different blends of water as well as these cute pineapple cookies in the afternoon. Based in Seattle, WA, I am so happy I found this chain as I will be on the lookout and consider staying in other cities. Parking is available in a garage connected to the hotel next door for a fee. Also, bikes are available in the lobby for getting around (not sure if gratis or for a fee). I definitely recommend staying here! One small recommendation for the hotel: provide rooms with a small microwave and mini fridge to reheat leftovers. It all worked out as I gave a homeless guy mine.

I love that the grounds are secure and you can allow your children to go into the courtyard area and play the provided games with peace of mind- knowing that they'll be safe. They provide tons of outdoor seating options and grills for tenants, which makes cooking a breeze. In order to enter from the beach/boardwalk, you must have a room key to enter the premises- another awesome perk. He remembered us throughout our weekend, which was a big plus in my book. While the lobby may not be as expansive as some other high-end hotels, my focus wasn't on lounging around there. I get that some reviewers might expect more amenities, but this is Downtown San Diego. The design and structure fit perfectly with the surroundings, and I personally appreciate a place that keeps the riff-raff at bay. Once we checked into our room, I found the space thoughtfully designed, and the staff promptly addressed the minor issues we encountered. Though the hotel doesn't boast a massive pool, located on the 3rd floor, the staff provided excellent food and beverage service. The gym, overlooking the pool, was well-equipped for a proper workout, and I was pleased to find that the equipment was in good condition and saw little use. The hotel's restaurants offered delicious meals, making dining a pleasure. Cathryn, with her crossed key pins, was an outstanding concierge. She provided invaluable advice on local beach spots and dining options. After making a poor Yelp choice, she came to my rescue, finding great restaurants in both the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy that suited our specific preferences. The valet parking was around $70 so we found a parking lot a few blocks away. The walk wasn't bad so a good alternative. The location is close to the convention center and stadium, but if you're not coming to SD for those places, I wouldn't say this is a central location. I booked through Chase Sapphire Reserve The Edit and got the following perks: 1. Upgrade to higher floor room 2. While the location is excellent, there were several things that made the stay less enjoyable. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. There isn't an air vent in the living room, so if you have additional guests sleeping on the sofa bed, they receive very little airflow. Most of the cool air stays in the bedroom, especially if the sliding door is closed. Even with the door open, the living room never cooled down enough to be comfortable. Another downside is the bathroom layout. The only bathroom is located inside the bedroom, which means anyone sleeping in the living room has to walk through the bedroom to use it. If you're planning to share the suite with family or friends, this layout isn't very practical. We also ordered room service, and our order was prepared incorrectly. After calling to have it corrected, it took over an hour for them to bring the replacement meal. Since the mistake was on the hotel's end, that wait time was unacceptable. I was also surprised that the hotel doesn't have a small convenience section for snacks, drinks, or forgotten essentials like toothpaste or mouthwash. Instead, you'll need to walk a couple of blocks to a 7-Eleven or CVS to pick up basic items. The best part of this hotel is its location. It's directly next to Petco Park, and there's a bridge that takes you straight to the stadium, making it incredibly convenient for baseball fans and helping you avoid going through the regular lines. Overall, if you're staying specifically to attend a game or concert at Petco Park, the location is great. However, if you're simply looking for a hotel in downtown San Diego, I think there are likely better options that offer more comfort and convenience for the price.

I paid an arm and a leg for the room but it was absolutely massive and I had sliding glass doors directly onto my own private patio which was right next to the pool overlooking the ocean, it was really incredible despite how outdated the room felt, somehow the size of the room made it more modern and it felt clean. The people at the front desk were young, fun, outgoing, really friendly and I appreciated that. They told me about some happy hour they were having later in the day and I felt very welcome here unlike other hotels I stayed at in the San Diego area. The bathroom was huge in my room, very weird vibe, like felt cabin-like, I don't know how else to explain it, but it was spacious, big countertop by the sink plenty of room to get ready. The coffee bar had an enormous countertop which was great for keeping all of my things, huge mirrors everywhere too. The bed was really comfortable, again great view outside, awesome staff. It was so nice to be able to walk the boardwalk and pop back in here whenever I needed to grab something or use the restroom. Walking distance to everything. Highly recommend, I would definitely stay here again. But I probably won't because the cost is INSANE. Sorry but it is. Also housekeeping found my jewelry box loaded with jewelry and returned it to the front desk who subsequently shipped it back to my house for me. For a charge of course but I do appreciate the honesty of the staff that goes a long long way! Thank you!!

Absolutely Wonderful Anniversary Getaway at the Hotel del Coronado…read more My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a beautiful weekend stay at the iconic Hotel del Coronado in a King Room with an Oceanview Balcony. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. The two young ladies who checked us in were an absolute delight. They looked like sisters but are actually best friends, and their genuine warmth and kindness made the start of our stay so memorable. The concierge was equally fantastic, ensuring our bags were delivered quickly and that we were comfortably settled in our room. The property itself is breathtaking...! The meticulously maintained gardens and stunning California coastal location provided the perfect romantic setting. We enjoyed outstanding fine dining experiences at both Nobu del Coronado and Seréa. What truly touched us was returning to our room to find a thoughtful happy anniversary card and a small box of delicious chocolates from the front desk team. It was such a sweet and personal touch. We were genuinely sad to leave and will absolutely be returning. Thank you to the entire team at the Hotel del Coronado for making our anniversary weekend so special!

Our original plan was a beach day at the Del but sewage from Tijuana changed that and the flags remained red. You couldn't get that close for pictures either. So instead we walked the grounds, explored the history of the hotel and found out it is a Hilton brand for future visits. Definitely a must see!
