Each time we stay, it's always pleasant. Although it's always been for Christmas Parties- Loews knows how to decorate for the festive occasion. This was our first time staying during summer! We actually won a One Night Stay at the property from a non profit charity raffle back in Summer 2025. And we had til June 2026 to redeem. I figured since hubby & I are both June babies- it makes total sense. There was an entire group of Convention folks checking in by the time we arrived. The reception crew was working tediously to get folks taken care of. We arrived by 12:30pm- knowing our room wouldn't be ready. But, aware we could utilize the pool amenities. We were told we'd receive a text informing us our room would be ready. (By 2:30pm- that wasn't the case). While hanging out at the pool area, Victoria checked in on us frequently. Since it is Summer/ Pool season, we got our wristbands. You can retrieve pool towels & request an umbrella for your chairs at the Cabana! There was overhead music playing at the pool area, but, it wasn't overwhelmingly loud, like you were on the Lido Deck on a Carnival Cruise. Between sips on my Hibiscus Paloma, nibbling on my Shrimp Ceviche, and going back and forth dipping into the pool- it was a great time soaking up Cali sun. I can't recall if 4pm is check in time- but, by the time we headed back to reception- it was whole new staff & our complimentary room was now available! $55 Self Parking $75 Valet. There's an ATM next to the gift shops. Free shuttle that takes you into town. Inquire with the last run of the day. We used this perk for dinner reservations at Hotel Del. I had no idea our complimentary room had such a deep tub! I should've brought a bath bomb from home! read more

I was in a resort view king. The good-turn down for what?I requested turn down service and it was pretty cool. Everything that I needed replenished got replenished or taken out like trash , water bottles replaced etc. I requested a garden room, but I still had a view of the bay. That was a nice surprise. I didn't have a balcony either,but I still got that view when I opened the curtains . Great harbor views and areas set up around the property for you to sit and relax. The conference food was really good and they had vegetarian and vegan offerings available and clearly labeled. Live music was offered at night in the bar area near the lobby. The conference room had a harbor view. The okay -I came with a group and we all got our own rooms. What we were individually told was not consistent and I didn't like that. For example, some of us got bracelets for the pool area and others did not. Some of us were told how self parking works and how we could pay and some of us weren't so we were all sharing details amongst ourselves. The bathroom set up was okay, but could have used towel racks by the sink. The pool area got crowded quickly so didn't get to use it. The bad-I also didn't appreciate how there was a consistent low buzz that I could hear in my room coming from I don't know where. Luckily I brought earplugs. When I pulled back the covers of the bed. I saw spots on the sheet. I had to call up and request new ones. They said they would bring them and I stayed up but no one came. So I had to call again in the morning and house keeping changed them when I was out. The mini room fridge had some food residue left on it and I couldn't really tell that it was on at first. There were spider webs catching flying insects in the corner of my room. I called up and they sent maintenance with a ladder to spray and clean that area. read more

We stayed at the upscale Loews Coronado Bay Resort from June 16 to June 18, 2026, to celebrate my husband's milestone birthday, and it was truly one of our most fun and relaxing vacations ever! I had originally booked a King Bay Room and later paid to upgrade it to the Coronado Sunset Suite as a surprise. To my absolute amazement and delight, when we arrived, the wonderful Sheryl checked us in and informed us that we had been upgraded even further to the Presidential King Suite--which is a massive, gorgeous 1,750 square feet with stunning views of the city skyline, San Diego Bay, and the marina. Sheryl was so professional , welcoming, and took care of our every need. The service throughout the entire hotel is beyond reproach, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The food at Crown Landing restaurant is spectacular, and we loved the atmosphere at Cays Lounge. We opted for the AAA package, so our spectacular breakfast was included! Everything here is convenient and accessible. We took the free shuttle into downtown Coronado (a quick 10-15 minute ride) and loved the golf cart service that takes you right to the beach. A huge highlight was renting a boat directly at the hotel marina for a sunset sail, as well as taking a speed boat tour around the bay. Came here for a wedding weekend and it was a blast. The property sits right on the bay, so everything feels calm, open, and a little removed from the crowds. The welcome party was on the terrace at sunset, with a self serve taco bar catered by the hotel. The ceremony itself was set up along the bay, and you really can't go wrong with that backdrop. We also did a farewell brunch cruise that left directly from the property, which was such a fun way to wrap up the weekend. Food across the board was great. The grounds are nice too. There's a big pool area with palm trees, a marina with boats and little pathways to walk around, and plenty of spots to just sit and hang out. Only thing to note, it's a bit removed from the main Coronado area, so if you want to explore restaurants, shops, or the beach more easily, having a car definitely helps. You can Uber, but it's not the most convenient for going back and forth a lot, and our Ubers and Lyfts added up quickly. And pick up was pretty challenging. We picked this hotel as it was part of our Amex benefits. We arrived late but check in was easy and were able to get upgraded. The property is really quiet compared to the Del, which was nice. Between each building is a garden and we were by nectar which had citrus fruit growing that the hotel uses. The gates on the balcony have large gaps so be mindful if you have pets or children. The views and beach were ok (compared to the Del). There is a walkable underground tunnel that will take you to the silver strand beach. The parking was probably the biggest pain. They use a third party program and you have to scan the QR code everyday (if you are leaving/returning to the property). There's no one at the parking station to help, only a QR code and number to text if you get stuck. read more

Had an amazing stay here during easter week. Nice, clean & quiet. Our room balcony was perfectly facing sunset, really beautiful to watch. Silver strand beach is just across the street, beautiful and not crowded. Few restaurant selections but they were all good! Crown landing was our fave. They had easter egg hunt for kids separated by age group and also with easter bunny photo op. Staffs are really helpful & friendly! If i remember her name right, one of them is Jade. My family recently stayed at this hotel with our dog. We love that it is dog and family friendly! The customer service was great at the front desk and hotel restaurant. We had drinks, calamari, short rib flatbread, and fish and chips. I would go back to the hotel just to eat here! The food service, presentation, and taste was amazing. This was the bar/restaurant area that had a patio with a view that looked out to the water. We enjoyed the location and had a car which was helpful because the shuttle only takes you by Hotel Del Coronado but not to the ferry landing. The rooms themselves are okay and fairly big but the window was dirty with no screen and our neighbors were loud. read more

The hotel is older, not a luxury location. The staff are scattered, unhelpful and mismanaged. The check in was confusing and completely disorganized. The lady never asked me if I was parking, and after having to wait for 20 minutes in a very disorganized front desk to check in, I didn't ask. But it should have been the check in person to ask and then tell guests about the in-out rules. Nope. Leaving the facility was a nightmare as there is no one at the gate, nobody told me I had to register my car, or that it had to be...or how to get in and out. You will get stuck there and when you call the front desk, they are completely useless. The hotel's attempt to upgrade technology on the parking situation was an epic fail. I'll be honest, I've stayed in way nicer hotels(this is only a four star) but the service here is the best service I've ever had. Everyone from the check in, room service, valet, etc. was amazing. The staff were friendly, accommodating and the resort has enough activities to stay on the property. Upon arrival we were offered their pink lemonade. Additionally the room was clean and perfect. Rick went above and beyond for us at the front desk to give us the best options for our room upgrade. In the room, robes are provided. Free water bottles in the mini fridge, keurig coffee pots in the room and ice down the hall. Free WiFi on the entire property. Granted we have the AMEX platinum and we're given a $100 resort credit as well as a free room upgrade as from having the credit card. Aside from the credit card perks, it was still a very comfortable stay. 4 different places to eat on the property- I dined from 3 of the 4 eateries they had. See my specific yelp posts for each of these restaurants. The pool is staffed with someone at the front at the towel desk even in the evening. There is a free shuttle to downtown Coronado where all the restaurants and hotel Del Coronado is. Has been a terrible experience. at first they offered us to a room that was a view to the bay and that you had to making it have seagull activity and seagull poop. Knee was a king size bed in the new room. We have now to standard size beds with a pool view. This morning they had message us saying our check was not on which we had requested and was approved for a late checkout at 4 PM and now they had locked us out of our room receiving our key cards but also on the resort restaurants not that good on that would have to wait for a long time at one of the restaurants took them over 50 minutes to bring out fries and fried calamari ridiculous. And pool food was good and a little bit of a long wait, which is normal. read more

Review of the banquet side... of the wedding venue and service only: 2.5-3stars Large, spacious and beautiful venue. Their IG boasted their amazing food (they were 2nd place winner of a taco tko contest) so I was looking forward in tasting their food. Because of the rain, the wedding ceremony was moved indoor; staff was able to quickly accommodate the bride/groom but everyone seem to be in a frenzy in getting everything set up. Service was delayed; perhaps they are not used to large event and timing? Maybe it's a California thing?- I heard people are more laid back and slow about things - no rushing. At one point in the ceremony, staff couldn't find the parents gifts. Ceremonial stuff was brought in and misplaced by staff- found later and given with speech toward end of ceremony. After the ceremony, we enter cocktail hour which wasn't fully set up. The bar and table stuff was still being set up. The bartenders were rude when guests asked about timing and what was being offered. I tried to take a pic of the menu (from bride) to see what us offer but can't see so I used my purse to take pic. Asked bartender what type of alcohol and brand is offer and they said they have everything but they don't. The signature drinks weren't even ready (mid-party it was ready). Cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were late and limited. Seems like majority of guests were starving because we all position near the door where they come out. They were limited and came out mid to end of the cocktail hour. At times they skip around to try to get to the other side of the room to feed others as most congregate toward the front. Not all were hot either; as if it was precooked and held in a steam warmer and then served to us. Bar also closed before end; assume they moving into the reception room. When entering reception room; we can see an empty area where the bar should be. Bar didn't arrive until 2hrs afterward... probably at the bride/groom's requests so that everyone is seated for the speeches and dances. The bar had limited alcohol available; mostly sodas and such. The servers did come around the room with some wine to pour for the speeches but offer nothing else. They also didn't replenish our water glasses and then halfway through the party, they removed all the water glasses. Was pretty thirsty toward the end and had to ask bartender for sodas since our water glasses were gone. There was a mix up with the fog machine (cord was too short?). Staff was trying to set it up fot the bride/groom's first dance. I noticed a few other service related stuff as I was in the business myself so I tend to notice service related. Not many staff and only in the room when they are serving food (probably short handed). Food: quality and taste was okay nothing amazing. Main entree look messy in presentation (all over the place). Veggies were bland and needed more seasoning. Food in general all night from cocktail hour to reception weren't that hot. Perhaps, the kitchen is pretty far away from the reception room. Everything looks beautiful but service and food wasn't all that great. Was decent, disorganized and food not hot. I wasn't impressed. I also heard from other guests that they weren't impressed either and that the bartenders were rude. No one else got water refill during the event as the staff wasn't in the room unless necessary. Perhaps they thought the table was empty?- but my table still had people sitting there and my purse was next to my water glass when I got up to dance. read more

I was not very impressed with my stay at Loews Hotel. It seemed that room maintenance was lacking--when I tried to open the closet door, it unexpectedly slammed on my hand instead of sliding smoothly. The hot tub had a very strong chlorine smell and an excessive amount of foam, which made it unpleasant to use. There were also no towels available, and I had to search for a staff member while standing in the cold. Additionally, parking is not included in the resort fee and costs $50 per night, which was disappointing. The location is also not very convenient, as it is far from most attractions. The hotel is advertised as beachfront, but there was no prior notice that the beach was closed. Had I known, I likely would have chosen a different property. While I understand the hotel may not control beach closures, I believe this is important information to communicate to guests in advance. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience and would not choose to stay here again. read more

From the moment we arrived and Nick checked us in there was a chill yet professional vibe. Updated rooms and common areas. Clean pool deck with excellent drink and food service choices. Best of all was the dining quality and service from staffers in Dining room and bar area inside and outside. Liked that was a frequent shuttle to Hotel Del Coronado and ferry to downtown and we didn't end up wanting to leave for 4 days three nights. Watched football at the bar... ooh the composite BIG screen was having a problem with one screen segment so we watched at bartop. Breakfast was perfect and dinner simple steak frites cooked perfectly and served promptly with excellent wines by the glass. Bars inside and outside had a robust selection of no additive tequilas like Fortaleza and G4. Would go back for a long weekend in a heartbeat. Nice resort for a weekend stay. Rooms were large and clean, staff were friendly, and the place has nice amenities. We ate dinner at the Crown Landing and it was just ok. Ordered nachos from La Cantina and felt the same. Food could be better. Husband enjoyed the cocktails from La Cantina. Unfortunately, they got new frozen drink machines and they weren't up and running yet. Apparently they don't even have a regular blender on site to make a frozen drink, which was disappointing for me. Checked in and was given the wrong room, a cheaper room. After being moved to the correct room the TV wasn't working and I was just trying to relax, watch some football after a flight. Now there is a 7am workout class outside my window with the instructor being incredible loud and ending with people clapping loudly, hearing all this through the window and through earplugs is a bit much, I don't even see a 7am class on their website as an option. Also rust on the bathtub hand rail, shower door misaligned so it doesn't close. Half of the power outlets built into the lights or desk don't work. Great location, great views, room service food was good, solid coffees and options near the lobby but these don't make up for a bad room experience. read more

Really enjoyed our stay at Loews Coronado. We stayed at the Waterfront Villa King Suite which had beautiful views of the San Diego Bay and a nice private patio to enjoy the dramatic sunset (while eating room service / food delivery). The hotel itself is a bit dated like others have mentioned, but overall still pretty well put-together. It's a hotel with a good balance of seclusion / privacy and family friendliness. If you want hustle and bustle, Loews is NOT it. But if you want some peace and quiet with the occasional pool day or even a staycation, Loews is a good choice. This was good for my family since we spent the other half of the trip in Oceanside, CA which had more foot traffic. Pros: views, privacy (secluded), good on-site food (don't think I had one bad meal) and availability of suites which are family friendly Cons: dated rooms (some parts of my room could use a new coat of paint), resort fees, dirty carpet in our suite (my feet were black after the first 15 minutes - I guess I should keep my shoes on) , check-in was frustrating (our room wasn't ready by 4pm and the person at the counter had an attitude and just responded "there's nothing I can do" so we asked to see the manager and he comped us 3 drink vouchers (prolly worth $50) Despite the dirty carpet and rude check-in, I would still return. read more

The resort is located at the end of the Coronado island, so many people who go to downtown Coronado do not even know Loews is there. It is very well taken care of and I like the various divisions, especially the herbs garden and the joyous pool area. The hotel smells luxurious maybe because of the smells coming from the fabulous spa or from the kitchen. The views of Coronado bridge and Sand Diego skyline are fantastic. Is like a mini paradise inside the big heaven that is SD county. I really like the design of the carpets and the tonality. I know it might sound silly but I like to check those and give me an idea of what to expect. Easy parking and access to beach and marina. Love it. read more

Day 4/5 Review Shower is super strange. It is really tiny. We left. I would not stay there again. If the food were better, I might. We did not try the seafood restaurant. The hotel needs to learn how to hotel. Day 3 Review So many wins today! My day started out with the best breakfast burrito. It is the Exchange Burrito! My husband checked out the gym, and they have the latest Peloton. He always complains about the outdated bikes when we travel. This one is the newest and in great shape. They also have a scale you can use in a room without anyone seeing. The sun came out today! The pool area is really a 5-star rating. Lots of chairs, many pools and hot tubs, fun activities, nice towels, and free sunscreen. There were only about 20 people at the pool today. There was a person manning the towels which is outside the gate. Bring that area inside by the pool and have her take drink and food orders. It would have been nice to have someone come around to take orders. Seems like something a resort should do. I asked for a Pina Colada. They said they do not have the ingredients to make one. Again, this is a resort. Then I was told about a similar drink. Then I was told that, unfortunately, they were out of the ingredients. Why tell me about it? When we came back from dinner, we were welcomed back, and the valet opened the door for us. Grandma is still spraying the hotel. Day 2 Review My husband got us drinks and a Nutella toast. It was really good with fresh strawberries and bananas cut up on top of the right amount of Nutella. We left to go have lunch. We went downstairs, and the overwhelming air freshener was gone! I spoke with the person at the front desk about the scent the day before. Me: Does the hotel always have a strong air-freshener scent? Her: I don't know about other hotels; I have only worked at this one. Me: So does this one always have a strong scent? Her: Yes. That was it. I think she was done with me. I will be in the tub then. As we approached the front, many staff members were standing there. There was a man there chatting it up with the valet crew. I think he was a manager. No welcome, good afternoon, nothing. It is so odd. I get greeted at most businesses I enter. Panera, Starbucks, Potbelly, gas station all say something when I walk through the door. Walked through the doors, and Grandma sprayed air freshener again. Took a bath and am super happy. Day 1 Review The tub saves this entire review. The outside of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Pulling up feels almost overwhelming in a good way. Unfortunately, that feeling disappears the moment you try to enter. Several guests arrived at once, and no one was there to open the door. Wrestling luggage while trying to open a heavy door is not a great first impression. As soon as you step inside, you are hit by an overpowering, unpleasant fragrance. I carry a rescue inhaler and only need it a few times a year. The scent was so strong that I had to use it today. This was not a pleasant scent; it was used too heavily. It was harsh and old, like an ancient can of air freshener a grandmother keeps for guests. Once you push past the scent, you notice the interior feels dated, but it is hard to focus on anything else because of the perfumed air. Check-in was slow, though the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming. We were hungry and chose to eat outside because there was no way I could sit inside. It was cold, and only a few tables had fires. Tall outdoor heaters by the tables would make a huge difference. After waiting about ten minutes without help, I went inside to order at the bar. To their credit, they sent someone to us. The server noticed our table was wobbly and said she would put a wedge under the leg, but that never happened. Eventually, a table near a fire opened up, and we moved. We ordered chicken sandwiches and a pretzel. The food took about forty minutes to arrive, even though only a few families were dining outside. The chicken was so overcooked that I could not take a single bite without having to fight to tear it loose. Back in the room, the bathtub completely changed my mood. It is so deep you actually have to step in to put the stopper in. It was the best bath I have had in a long time, with plenty of hot water. Unfortunately, I noticed the room also has a light fragrance, which was disappointing. The bed is very uncomfortable and extremely firm, the opposite of soft. The saving graces of the room are the gorgeous view and the balcony. I have the door open, hoping it helps with the scent. One final bright spot: we grabbed an oatmeal cookie from the downstairs shop. It was warm and absolutely delicious. At this point, the tub and the view are doing all the heavy lifting. read more

We just returned from a REALLY nice, mini reunion with college friends for the weekend at the Loew's Coronado. Like most reviews say, the staff were professional and helpful. We got a very nice room in Building 1, and we enjoyed it as it's the building closest to the lobby and restaurants. That's not to say that the rest of the buildings (2-5) wouldn't have been equally nice. Everything is very close together, so you're not walking that much and the way it was designed is almost a full circle with the 3 pools in the middle (also very close together). It has a small resort feel, but there are a lot of hotel rooms, so a lot of people are obvious at restaurants and pools. There is a free shuttle that takes you the short distance to the great town of Coronado with tons of restaurants and shops. Such a great location. They don't rent bikes, but you can do that in town. There are bike lanes and we rode around the whole island. THE FOOD: We LOVED the front restaurant "Crown Anchor" with inside/outside dining, which was perfect, but crowded this weekend. Ruben was our terrific waiter with a great sense of humor and we couldn't say better things about him. Amazing gourmet food for breakfast. Secondly, just inside this restaurant/front lobby is a very nice cafe where you order from the counter: coffee/drinks, breakfast pastries, easy meals, and sandwiches. They have grab and go items and cafe style chairs/tables. Thirdly, I ordered room service once, a turkey club, and asked for 2 layers of bread instead of 3. Someone messed it up and it came as a lettuce wrap, so they redid it but there was a long wait time for it and the turkey was fresh cut and a bit fatty (so strange). The truffle fries WERE AMAZING and the server was very kind. Lastly, several complaints about the Mexican food served poolside, so we never ordered from them again. Food in town is easy and also worth it (The Henry, Frenchie, and a Mexican restaurant that was phenomenal). The rooms are beautiful and spacious, as was the bathroom with a huge soaking tub. If only we had the time to use it. The product provided is just okay. The woodwork/closets and doors need to be updated and painted. Everything else was pretty and felt newish. We could hear the neighbors next door, kids in room above us, and in the hallway at times, so it would be smart if something could be done with that in future. Keurig coffee machine and tea, bottled water daily, (really wish they would equip the grounds with free water dispensers like many resorts have switched to save on plastic useage). Great housekeeping staff. I walked around the resort and it's very peaceful, serene, and private. OVERALL: We had so much fun and everything and everyone was easy, so I'd highly recommend staying here and just deal with some of the negatives, which are far outweighed by the many positives. From the moment we arrived and the welcome card was written to the wrong family, to eating at their high end restaurant with poor service and overpriced options and poor presentation to ordering breakfast and after 1.75 hours it had not arrived yet. Allow me to offer context if you want to read all of this (my longest post in years in Yelp). Room not properly equipped: We paid for a nice suite so the kids could stay with us and it has a pull out couch; No pillows or blankets in closet?? Room vibration that kept us awake: The room had a random vibration every so often that woke me up several times. Couldn't figure out what it was but also couldn't call at 3am and wake all the kids. In room food service: Ordered breakfast 8am. Agreed to 45 minutes delivery. Had to call at 1 hour to ask if it was still on its way. She couldn't answer and said she would call me back in 2 minutes; Didn't call back. It's now over 110 minutes (1.5 hours+). No food no call. I called again and was told another 20 minutes. I cancelled the order. My 9 and 10 year old left without eating before their soccer games. Push back: I called and ask for a late check out now that we were behind due to breakfast delays and had to escalate to management because I was told 'no'. I wasn't even asked why. I kind of went off on the manager and am sorry for that as he did grant my late checkout. Parking: You rent a Private suite nestled on the Bay and cannot find parking for the Suite so you have to park 1/2 mile away. Simple solution, dedicate at least one space for these unattached bungalows. It's doesn't matter what you pay for a room but when you pay near $700 for one night and $500 for a meal that was not equivalent to the value, buy shorts from their shops and drinks from their bar and you reserve it directly with their brand website, one expects a little bit better service and less apologies. When any hotel brand's staff makes these mistakes consistently, you have a management and training problem. Reading previous reviews, this place needs an overhaul in service management. And please don't make the excuse it's because of the holiday. We won't be back and cannot recommend this hotel (and maybe brand) as the service was poor and the food in their high end restaurant (previously yelped about) was not good either. This was supposed to be a fun night for me and my local San Diego family and instead, it was such a disappointment. Room key keeps not working. They only let security come unlock my door so I have to wait! Bathroom is old. Fawcets don't work well. Air con had to be fixed. read more

This place low key kind of sucks tbh. Also the deposit you have to put on the room is like $200. And even if you pay for parking, they have a resort fee of $53, AND they charge you for valet regardless which is only a $3 diff if you park yourself. We asked for a refund and they seem mentally incapable. The grounds were okay. But I've never ever had something like this happen. read more

When we checked there was feces smeared on the toilet handle, makeup on the counters, and a price of trash on the floor. I let the front desk and the text support know and asked that they do a good clean the next day (should be a reasonable request- we used sanitizing wipes to clean the really nasty stuff). Message did not get to housekeeping until after they cleaned the room the next day. Everything is overpriced and a Lyft to food is almost $20 one way so prepare to spend a lot of money. Drinks and food were good and staff was good. Our refrigerator was not shut all the way (my fault) but the fridge turned off completely so my food went bad. On our last day my tv kept randomly changing channels. Went to grab a clean towel for my last shower and there is what I believe to be rat poop on it. Not sure if they are understaffed or what but this place needs some work and some deep cleaning and better daily cleaning. I spent so much time cleaning and not feeling comfortable that it kinda ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing week off. Would have been nice if the offered us a bottle of wine or reduced the price for a night or upgraded the room but nothing was done. Kinda a waste of vacation time. read more

We booked a suite expecting comfort and convenience, but the experience was awful. The pull-out couch was rusty and completely unusable, which was shocking for a room advertised as family-friendly. The mini fridge didn't work at all, making it impossible to keep our young child's milk cold--an absolute necessity for us. To make matters worse, the sink broke during our stay, adding to the frustration. For the price we paid, this level of maintenance and service is unacceptable. I strongly advise looking elsewhere if you expect basic functionality. read more

After coming here a year or so ago, which was a phenomenal stay, I feel like it's kind of lost its charm a bit. I don't know what it was, but I felt frustrated being here. I think it had to do with the beginning of the stay where it seemingly got off on the wrong foot. I had asked if they had early check in prior to coming and what were the reasonable typical hours where it would make sense to see if there's availability. They wouldn't answer the question and defaulted to "we cannot guarantee early check in... you have to be here on-site". And then what I feared would happen, happened... when I got there, they didn't have a room for me. They said they would text me. After 3 hours later, never did until I went up to the front desk and they said my room has been ready hours ago and texted me letting me know. Never got the message and they had the correct number. I guess that's life and things don't work out sometimes. I was trying to not let my tiredness and impatience ruin the experience but I feel like it did. Then, I had to work to find out how to best navigate the hassle of parking and getting to and from my room in a convenient way. They used to allow parking outside of the garage, which made things easier, but not anymore. After a day or so, I finally figured out I didn't have to take an elevator from the garage to my room (and vice versa) and could take the stairs, which was somewhat easier, given how terribly inconvenient the hotel is architected. I found it also weird when having a car here that you could simply go through the gates; no attendant and no scanning of a keycard like last time. The room I had was definitely better this time around -- not only was it more spacious, but it had a great view to wake up to. The sunrise was remarkable over the Coronado Bay. That was essentially what I loved most about being here. The bed was comfortable for the most part, but I failed to tell the front desk to replace the sheets during my stay as I could feel sand that seemingly was left over from the other guest. When I did call one time, they didn't answer for seemingly almost 5 minutes. My room was literally the last room and furthest from the front desk, so the heck if I was going to walk 10 minutes just to request something. While there were some inconveniences, and I know nothing can be perfect, it was an overall good stay and I'm still glad I chose this over a downtown hotel. Who would ever want to live or stay in any downtown? Even though it's still a bit of a distance to get to the Coronado beach/city area since this place is rather isolated, I love being in Coronado. This area and La Jolla are my favorite places to be. read more

We normally come down to San Diego for our anniversary weekend and stay at Paradise Point but after 10 years of it and a declining management that was unapologetic for their mishaps we decided to give our 11th anniversary a try with the Loews Coronado and it did not disappoint. Front desk Rick was a complete star and gave us good vibes immediately with a genuine sense of welcome and appreciation for our stay. It was followed by a generous upgrade to a suite and chilled champagne, Chocolate covered strawberries and a handwritten note signed by the Loews family. We will come back and stay at their Villas next time. Yes the resort seems dated but upkeep in our suite was irreproachable. A+++ to the resort management, ownership and entire staff for being so welcoming and joyful. read more

Stunning! More than impressed with this hotel. Beautiful views and amenities. Property was very clean and well kept. Dining options were excellent and the bar was a plus too. Enjoy the poolside or relax out in the lawn chairs in hidden nooks. Check in and out was easy and professional. Loved how kid friendly the pool area was as well with movies playing. I liked Lowe's Resort. We stayed there for a 30th bday celebration and found the atmosphere to be relaxing, with lovely views of the Ocean. It was nice to have the shuttle that could take us to downtown Coronado that came every 30 mins so we could explore that area or catch a ride to downtown San Diego from there. We especially enjoyed chatting with the older gentlemen working the bar, who made us an excellent cucumber mojito and made the birthday girl feel special. The reason it's not a 5/5: -all the children running around. It would be nice to have an adults-only area around the pool with less screaming children. -The daily parking fees are a bit expensive at $50/day. -The limited dining options--there are two restaurants to chose from and a gelato shop that charges $8 for a small gelato cup. Not a deal breaker as the shuttle can take you to downtown for more options. All in all, I'd definitely consider staying at Lowe's again. read more
