I just realized how fragile the scarves are. I kept it nicely folded in the bag they provided, which is pretty small. I kept it in the bag for protection. I just opened up the scarves and its permanently creased in all the folds. The material is super fragile. I purchased 4 pieces and was planning to give as gifts. But now I can't. It's all damaged. Make sure you open up the scarf when you get home. Seriously disappointed for the price. I own a lot of scarves but this never happened to me before. read more

I love the jewelry I have bought in the store although within a week of wearing the moldavite silver ring the stone fell out .i looked everywhere for it and could not find it. New location in Ala Moana Shopping Center - ocean level / in that no-man's-land area between the food court and macy's / where GameStop and the ABC store used to be / facing the beach and parking lot. Cool and interesting Tibetan/Nepalese/buddhist merchandise - clothing, jewelry, rugs, wall hangings, art, trinkets, etc. My wife liked the selection of silver jewelry. I liked the art/decorations, particularly the prayer wheels and bronze sculptures. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Hopefully, they'll be at this location for a while as we're hoping to pick up some items to decorate our new living room. Otherwise, we'd have to make the trek to their Haleiwa location. read more

I saw the wraparound pants in the window and had to go in! I was greeted by the nicest man who helped me find the pants. In the 70s my then bf named them "drive-in pants" and I was thrilled to find a good selection, all silk. My old pairs were cotton, but these reversible silk sari fabrics are all so beautiful it was hard to choose. When I paid, the man said to choose a gift (a lovely headband) and said that their rent was half-off for two months, so they were passing the savings on to their customers --and my pants were half price! I'll definitely be back for more, plus some of the other beautiful clothes, crystals and scents too. This is my new favorite shop. I understand there is also one on the North Shore. Yay! read more

I love this place!!! But where did it go?? We look forward to going there and just chit chat with Lopsang (I think that's his name) and Silvia. They both have such interesting stories to share and the seating area is so comfortable and welcoming. Our go to place for incense and I love the hand crafted jewelry pieces!! What a wonderful place! I've walked by a few times and decided to finally walk in and check it out. I've been interested in getting some bracelets and learning about chakras and what would be the best crystals for my needs. There are so many different crystals it's easy to be overwhelmed but there are descriptions next to each and how they benefit your health and wellbeing. While i was looking around i found a nice sandalwood bracelet. I didn't think they had any benefit but i thought it would be an easy starter and since it's an earthy color i knew it would match pretty much anything casual i wear. The sales associate inside talked to me as well and was describing the different crystals and how they help each chakra. He made me feel very comfortable about learning and I'm more willing to come back to check out more of what they have. read more

didn't have a problem with the location by goma tei. The lady was friendly when i inquired about pricing. She didn't talk much, but then again i didn't initiate convo either as i'm a bit introverted. There wasn't any pressure for me to buy anything, i ended up buying 2 bracelets and a sodalite ring and an amethyst heart. The obsidian has chipped a little in a matter of a week, however i was reading online that obsidian is such a soft crystal that chipping is normal, so i've been a bit more careful with throwing my arm around with more than one braclet or just snapping them off. I at least read that the energy of the crystals are not affected if the crystals are not pristine, so i'm not too worried. They were bought to be worn, and the last thing i wanted to do is keep them on a shelf because i'm too worried about them. it's interesting someone was upset abotu their ring breaking. Authentically, super nice people working here!! I've loved Ocean Queen since their sole shop existed in Haleiwa and continue to love Ocean Queen at the Ward location. They've been having a closing sale for the longest time now. Turns out their lease is month to month now and they may get the notice any time now to terminate their lease. It's KARMA they say because once they were initially notified that their lease would be terminated they set in motion to liquidate their inventory and SLASHED their prices in half. Their good deed has become fruitful and their lease extended. Go before they close and if they do, you'll have to trek to Haleiwa to get their good. Authentic Tibetan jewelry, clothing, accessories, bedding and such. I was able to purchase a few queen sized mandala throws at the sale price of $35.00 each (check the price of the same/similar throws on Urban Outfitters and you will appreciate this price). Their silver pieces of jewelry are pretty awesome as well and all are on sale now (until further notice). I purchased a few rings here and was so pleased with my finds - they even took the time to buff and shine your jewelry before you leave. The smell of the incense is what got me into this store. A lot of neat stuff in here like clothing, jewelry and choke knick knacks. its hard not to get a zen like feeling in here reading these quotes. All the incense smells so good I wanted to buy them all. I just stuck to three for now. patchouli, indra sandal (its what the whole freaking store smelled like) and opium. With a name like opium, I had to get it. it smells really good too. The wife got a couple head scarves and when we checked out, the guy individually wrapped each one in this homemade paper and put it in a nice little free hand bag. Really nice of him to do that. Its too bad this place is closing down and everything in here is 50% off. But no worries. I loved shopping here for the first time. The store felt like a dream. The smell of incense was really relaxing and the overall environment was really calming. I was planning to buy some things, specifically crystal jewelry. They sell a fairly large collection of rings, necklaces, bracelets. The prices were pretty fair. It was helpful that they put a small annotation about the means of the crystals so you can learn about it. I decided I'd buy a rose quartz ring as I was looking to build relationships with others, and that rose quartz are good for relationships. The lady who rung me up was really nice, she told me she liked my bracelet and I had overall a great shopping experience. The only downside is that they didn't have topaz, which was my friend's birthstone he was looking for to keep for himself. I definitely will shop here again! read more

I bought a green aventurine ring and it shattered out of nowhere while I was sitting at a picnic table into 4 pieces after about a week or so. I have a feeling their products are very bad quality. After I bought this ring I saw similar ones on Etsy for $4. I went to the store to possibly ask for a replacement ring since it had been such a short amount of time. The woman upstairs said it must be a sign if it broke. After a bit, she told me to go downstairs to the other location to get a new ring from the owner. The male owner became very hostile while I explained the situation, saying that everything breaks and there are no refunds because the store is 50% off and everything is final sale. After awhile, he told me to take a replacement ring and that it would be my bad karma. It was very condescending and threatening. He also told me I'm the only person who has ever said something broke and came back, but the other reviews of this place say otherwise. The whole experience was completely bizarre and I was shocked by the owner's hostility, especially since the woman upstairs told me something completely different. I do not recommend this store at all. Don't waste your money. I would go to Where the Crystals Rock in Aiea or Kailua Crystals. read more

I happened to walk around the swap meet last week during my visit to Honolulu and as I was about to turn around I noticed a large cloth or I guess beach towels that had Tibetan/Indian symbols. I quickly walked over and peeked in and first thing I noticed was an amazing peacock bag! (and everyone who knows me well enough knows i love anything with a peacock design!) The guy told me he doesn't have anymore of it, so I ended up buying that and one of those multi-wear wrap dress. Lots of Buddha, Tibetan, Hindu artifacts and clothing. The owner and I started talking for a bit, and turns out he's from Nepal and goes to India every year. He is super friendly and loves talking about his business. This isnt the type of store I would usually peruse however this particular evening I was feeling inquisitively namaste-ish. Im not spiritual or religious, but I do respect certain faiths..I'll just leave it at that. I do however absolutely love to read and research about different religions, for some reason it fascinates me to no end. I was in the store for about fourty-five minutes, I wasn't pestered, just got a sincere hello and a smile. As I walked around, I started noticing small things about the different Hindu deities such as hand placement and symbolism. From the little knowledge about Hinduism that I retained from high school I asked a few questions. Vishnu, Ganesh, the Shatkona (which everyone always mistakes for a pentagram) and the original swastika pre-Hilter is all I could remember but Lama the owner? was more than happy to "enlighten" me. oh the pun. I thought it was funny his name was Lama, as in the Dali. for real? That's like Gouvea Portuguese Sausage. I ended up buying a few items to support the store after Lama helped pick some out for me. Its not often you walk into a store and leave with a little knowledge that helps inspire billions upon billions. Not to say that it will do the same for me but I did leave with a deeper respect for the culture. I found the cutest animal beanies. One was a red boar which happens to be the mascot of my cousin's best friend's new college. Went to the cash register to buy it for her to give to her best friend and ended up talking with the store owner for fifteen minutes. He's actually Tibetan, and has visited Nepal and India. He's incredibly informed so I got to discuss vajrayana buddhism with him. Not every day you walk into what you think is a novelty shop only to find out it's the real deal and that the owner is incredibly informed. Also, the scarves were incredibly pretty. Almost bought some for myself but had just spent plenty at the farmer's market. Will definitely be back the next time I need a gorgeous or unique gift. read more
