I'm upgrading my review of this business that has been in business for a long time. We returned a second time to purchase an item after shopping elsewhere. This place has survived for a long time because of their gifts to organize filled with luck & prosperity within a community. I was looking for a sacred buddha that spoke to me and found it at this shop. I had looked else where before deciding. Expression of this unique piece and knowledge of the owners was helpful in my decision (pic attached). It's Burmese jade and the carving is detailed and jade emits so many colors which will change with time as I plan to rub it's tummy often. Thank you Michael and wife. I'm making a chess board and needed chess pieces, so I though I'd look at a few stores in this district, including Feng Shui. Like similar shops in Chinatown, it's packed with curiosities, novelties and occasional unique finds, such as a set of hand-painted, resin chessmen. Not sure how or why we stumbled into the store but it turned out to be really educational! I always had an interest in Feng Shui but didn't know where to begin. Michael and June along with their daughter were so nice and accommodating, answering all of our questions. The staff are very helpful and want to teach you everything there is to know about feng shui, and they know when you're in sensory overload and can't take in anymore. Very perceptive. I became anxious when learning this is NOT a good year for my Chinese horoscope. So, I fell into that zone of wanting to buy protective things, most of which were rather pricey, but I guess we invest in what we can afford. I would prefer that they do NOT say negative things, even tho it generated a sale. I went there specifically for their incense and I plan to return when I run out. Free parking and store is organized and clean. Joni prefers you call before you go, but I usually stop in when I happen to be in the area. It's become a tradition and I'll get the same for friends of mine. Michael, always knows exactly what the year brings for each of the 12 animals of the zodiac, whether it will be a good year or bad one; what charm to carry to magnify the good luck coming and what item to carry to minimize the bad luck or protect one's health, well being or wealth. I've been dealing with a lot recently and my Lunch Buddy along with the Mayor of Chinatown suggested I checked out Feng Shui Arts & Gifts for a change of luck. They waited till my schedule allowed for me to check them out. We decided to meet there on a Saturday at 11am. They are busy over the weekends and people were lined up to see the Feng Shui Master. If you want to avoid the crowds, go on a weekday. I was told it was not nearly as busy as the weekends. The store offers red envelopes, bamboo plants, charms, pendants, amulets, crystals, books and other miscellaneous items. Lunch Buddy got there first and showed me the ropes. She introduced me to the Feng Shui Masters wife and she was picked out a Turtle/Dragon to carry on me for additional good luck this year. Most are interesting with deep stories and meaning behind it. Trinkets, money trees and animal spirit displays really make this store a gambit of Chinese tradition. Not too large, but the service here is attentive with added benefit if you want more information on your upcoming RAT year! We went directly to the back of the store which has several wall charts showing you the directional luck for each animal and year. So interesting to ponder. The older gentlemen must be the owner and he had a wealth of knowledge about her specific year and the impact for 2020. She was deeply immersed in every word he said! My friend got several tokens for good luck. I just picked up a small year of the RAT for me to read in leisure, oh and just a couple of inexpensive car hanging good luck tassels for 2020. Even though I am not Chinese, I have a belief in Feng Shui and the Chinese Zodiac. So every year, me and my family visits Master Michael Wu on Maunakea Street in Chinatown to re-align each family members focus for the Lunar Nee Year. Feng Shui - - this is a Chinese art on how to harmonize your surrounding environment. Some people rearrange rooms. Some people add elements (i.e. plants, water, etc.) to bring positive energy flow. So if you are looking for such items this place is for you! I "accidentally" stumbled into this place earlier this afternoon with 2 friends. We had been on a "on-foot food tour of Chinatown". After a late lunch, fruit smoothies and dessert, one of my friends had to use the restroom and the other one wandered into this store. After the bathroom break that other friend was still in here shopping so we checked this store out. This store has lots of gadgets for FENG SHUI. I particularly noticed the lucky green bamboo as there were all nicely lined up in the front. Looking straight was my friend making a purchase so being nosy we walked to the cashier and at that time was fixing my friend's Chinese charm bracelet. We noticed many Jade accessories here and was given a lecture on Jade selection from the store clerk. Seems like many producers are "injecting" dye for the green color so it's definitely "buyer beware" mentality. We were also advised that for some people, after wearing Jade for some time the color will change and become more bold in color. Several years ago I started to wear a Jade pendant again as my paternal grandmother and mother would have me wear one as a child. I was miserably teased during grade school and because of that have boycotted Jade until several years ago. I was Jade shopping with some friends in Oakland Chinatown and the clerk there had the most perfect sales pitch to me "Hey fat kid, wanna buy some Jade?" Keep in mind that Chinese people can be very direct and therefore, lacking in the Customer Service Department. To make a long story short I bought a pendant and have worn it several years now. With all of my hiking my necklace string started to fray so I had a new one exchanged at Kim's Trading but the string kept on getting loose. I tried to have Kim Trading fix it for me but they just couldn't do it so I gave up until I came here. I asked the clerk if she knew how to assemble the old-fashioned way and with her hand movement showed me exactly how to do it. Within 5 minutes I selected the string color and she made a new one for me. It was only a $2 fee which I willingly paid. There are many things to buy here so you could spend hours checking out the good luck charms. I wanted to stay longer but the clouds outside got really dark so after paying we parted ways. Overall, a decent place to browse and shop for gifts and buying items to assist you with FENG SHUI. Definitely a place to put on your list the next time you are in Chinatown. read more

I know that there are 5 elements: metal, wood, fire, water, and earth; and that there are 12 animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Boar, Dog, Dragon, etc.; and that 5 elements times 12 animals = 60 years. That's why your 60th birthday is so important - you've lived through all 60 cycles. For example, this is the Year of the Wood Horse. My sister is 48 years old. She is a Fire Horse. In 12 years, she will be 60 - and that will be the year of the Fire Horse again! Time to go to Vegas!! June Wu at Feng Shui Arts & Gifts is a very cheerful and helpful shop owner. I told her that I would be going to Vegas with my sister & she gave me some lucky numbers and told me our lucky days and locations. I even told her my friend's birthday and she helped me select a special charm to enhance my friend's life. Since I was there, I got a unique Christmas gift and a bracelet for another friend to attract money. Some of my friends are really into Feng Shui. One of them gave me a Dzi Bead bracelet, but the elastic broke twice. I asked June to change the elastic to a lucky red string, sliding knot style, and she knew what I meant. Now I can wear it on my pulse point again without fear of breaking! In the past, I had gone to their former location at Maunakea Marketplace and purchased auspicious figurines for my home and other cures to prevent theft and improve health and fortune. Yes, I'm Catholic and we're not supposed to worship idols and tinker with astrology. Somehow, I just want to cover all bases and continue to wear my jade allies on me; carry my special charms; and rub the cards and dice on my lucky jade. Recently, when I looked for this store, I couldn't find it. The former location is now a clothing shop. Fortunately, my friend, Paul C., works across the street from Feng Shui Arts & Gifts on Maunakea Street - what a coincidence! The new location, across from Cindy's Lei Shop, near King Street, is easier to find! I was able to get useful gifts, fix my bracelet, and even cleanse my bracelets in the large amethyst! They have been at this new location for about a year. Park in the Municipal Lot, or on the street in a metered stall. Free street parking is available on Sundays! I would highly recommend this store for all of your Feng Shui needs. Don't be afraid to ask questions. June & her husband, Michael are very knowledgeable. You can even get books and calendars with information on enhancing your wealth, success, health, and love life! It sure seems to help me - or at least give me peace of mind... I finally found my authentic feng Shui store!! I've been all into essential oils, sandalwood incense sticks, and sage. (Away with your negative vibes and careful who you invite into your house.) But I haven't found a place with other feng Shui items! Lots of Chinese calendar items are sold in here, including charms, t-shirts, mini statues, and more! In the back there is this lady that does a 10minute personal reading based on your Chinese zodiac sign. (That was a bit creepy.) Aside from that, I picked up my Chinese New Year Boar items and envelopes. Hubby wanted some shirts, I guess because I will be having a Year or the Boar baby and he's also into hunting. He was able to look at my floor plan and was able to show me the energy in the house for the year. After the last year I need all the help I can get. If you save the first reading he does for you, each year after is about half the cost and he just calculates it for the current year. But be prepared to spend some $$$$! He always suggests new figurines to purchase to enhance your situation. However, everything you've purchased in the past can still be used, you may just need to change the location you place it in.
