Everyone is honest, kind, personable, and professional--honestly, the best dental work I've ever had. They have a knack for putting you at ease when you're in the chair. I called to schedule my cleaning which usually is automatically scheduled for the next 6 months .. so I called to schedule my cleaning in a month, then a few hours later received a voicemail from Adrianna that she is canceling my appointment, for no reason at all. I am so Disappointed with this office. I have been a patient for 4 years, I really like Dr. Lee and love Candice the hygienist. However, I called recently to make an appointment and was told by Adriana that I couldn't make an appointment until I paid a $200 missed appointment fee First of all, I have never missed an appointment before and I have never been late to an appointment. I truly don't recall this appointment and even if I did miss an appointment the $200 fee is quite excessive nor did I sign anything regarding a missed appointment fee. I thought I was a valued patient but I guess I'm not. I asked Adriana to have Dr. Lee call me and she said that the doctors don't make phone calls. I then asked if I could come in to discuss this matter with Dr. Lee and Adriana said she wouldn't see me. She also told me that I should find another dental office that better suits my needs. I have been in the dental industry over 35 years and am well versed in best practices, procedures and protocols and I have never seen this large of a missed appointment fee for a first time offender. Up until now I would have highly recommended this office but something has gone terribly wrong and it would be best to avoid this office. read more

I called today to get a quote for a night guard. Their First Lady was very professional and said they couldn't not give a quote. The Second Lady I spoke to when I was going to schedule an appointment gave me a quote of "$1000 and up". Also, said they could not accept records from other dentists. Very disappointed in this dentist office. Adrianna called to set up my appts with me and was very nice, we schdueled my son and she had to call me back to schedule mine. Apparently they had a hard time finding our insurance which was very much so active, they were just looking up the wrong number in the system. Victoria called me and canceled my appts, she was extremely rude, very short in her words and unprofessional. What they remember about me and my family always surprises me. The office is both warm and professional. Treatment options are explained well, along with the costs. I had a VERY bizarre experience. I have never had anything like this happen before, ever. I am still confused about my experience there. I had gone in for an abscessed molar. The dentist herself (Dr. Vanessa Lee) is very nice, thorough, helpful, and until today was unaware that there was ever an issue. She was helpful, kind, explained my options to me, wrote me a prescription to help the infection, and had referred me to an endodontist (LE Long H. DDS San Marcos) He was great! I do want to say that I sincerely thank her for all those things, and getting me in the first time so quick and for her kindness. I couldn't believe how easy and nice everyone was, and thought everything was going very smoothly until I called to schedule a time to come back in for the crown. Here's where it gets strange. I'm still confused about this! Everything was fine until I didn't understand why her charges for this crown differed from the paper I had from my insurance that gave me the contract price. I simply had asked the receptionist / assistant about it and she quickly became frazzled and told me, among other things that suggested she just wanted me to agree or go away, that I could take my business elsewhere. (Specifically, this was a female receptionist / assistant with a name beginning with "A" like Aubrey or something of the like) They canceled my appointment on me, and I literally hung up the phone confused, and drove to the office to iron out what I thought was just a strange misunderstanding (plus I still need a crown, and she is my HMO dentist, so I can't very well go elsewhere). I had walked in introduced myself again, and started to try to tell the dentist that I was confused by what transpired, (the office assistant was no where to be seen) when the dentist informed me that because I had treated her staff "in that manner for the second time" (whatever "manner" that was I still have no idea, and when was this first time?) she would no longer treat me nor any of my family. I was completely dumbfounded, especially because I hadn't talked to the receptionist the first time, I spoke to the dentist herself, and we were both amicable, otherwise I wouldn't have scheduled with her in the first place. She then asked me to leave, which I did, and I am still sitting here wondering what on earth just happened. It was weird. She may or may not call me, she wasn't clear about that part. (I'm going to go ahead and take a wild guess probably not) So there you have it! A strange experience all around. All I can think of is that the assistant lied, which I don't see what the point of that was, or was uncomfortable because I didn't immediately say that her quote was ok. I thought asking questions to understand things is not only part of business, but part of communication. So, like I said VERY bizarre. (BTW, I never really did get to say much of anything, but I did point out that she in fact took my first appointment, and I think she realized this during her explanation, (because she had made an, "oh that's right, I remember that", kind of face), but she didn't care to discuss and promptly threw me out. It is a shame I have now after one visit been banned simply for asking why there was a difference between the charges they wanted to charge me for a crown and the charges contracted by my insurance. I also have to now find another dentist and quick, because you can only go about three weeks with the filler before a crown needs to be in place. (with this being an HMO, I now have to call them and plead to switch) (More reason why I wouldn't willingly cause problems with this dentist) I want to give it no stars, because I am now annoyed about this mess I have to sort out, but in good conscience I can't knock the dentist, whose only failure was coming to the aid of her staff (understandable), and not even feigning interest in the patient's account of things (not understandable) before "firing" a patient. I suspect that failure to notice what was amiss in this situation will cost her many other patients, but there's nothing more I can do about that now. Like I said, VERY bizarre. Hope that helps anyone. Now I am off to call my insurance company. *sigh* read more

Dental offices are stressful. Military dentists gave me "dental ptsd." The smell of a dental office ignites childhood-nightmares from previous dentists I've seen. It takes broken teeth & dental pain to get my happy-ass to see a dentist (& sometimes, not even then). When I finally work up the nerve to ask for help (-thats not in my vocabulary)- the last thing I need is a lecture. The ORD reviews are legit! -Top notch office, for sure! Very quiet office, beautiful (practically new) facility, tons of parking and a calm, patient & private staff. Dr. Tran (my dentist) and Dr. Lee (my daughters' dentist) are awesome. Adrianna is also terrific! If dentists terrify you- contact ORD. They're very prompt in answering emails & have appt's available on Saturdays. read more

Because my other dentist was out of network, I had to find a new one, and thanks to Yelp.com, I did. Dr. Tran was very kind and helpful and explained all the costs and procedures covered on my insurance plan. The DT was nice and helpful, too, and x-rays were a breeze. They also give a discount for new patients, and they are open 2 Saturdays a month. Almost a year later, and I wouldn't change dentists even if you paid me. Yesterday I thought I had an abcess, but it was just a sore. I wasn't charged and I was seen promptly the next day. Thank you so much!! You are awesome! read more

BEST DENTIST IN OCEANSIDE!! I have been coming here for years and have seen both Dr.Tran and Dr.Lee and they are amazing. Very personable and take the time to actually get to know you. They must take notes after they see you because when I come in for my 6 month check up they bring up the last thing we talked about! I broke my tooth over the weekend had to find a dentist. My coworker and my sister told me to go here. It's a pretty modern office. Paperwork and xrays are easy. The dentist showed my cavity and went over how to fix it. They also went over my insurance. Fixing my tooth wasn't as bad as I thought. Couldn't believe when the procedure was done. They were very friendly and super professional. And I didn't have to wait around between each part of the visit. Stayed away from dentists for 5 years. Only made appointment cause my tooth broke. My old dentist would scold me. Some of the work I didn't think I needed and they would upsell me. I feel a lot more comfortable at this office. I have confidence in how they treat. I like that they enjoy their work. I also like that they are honest. They treated me like a patient and didn't put high pressure sells on me. And they took their time, not get me in and out like other places. The next patients were in the waiting room. They knew everyone. They were actually looking forward to the dentist. read more

My neighbor recommended this office a few months ago and their card has been on my fridge since. Well, as luck would have it I started experiencing a slight tooth ache and called my previous dentist who couldn't see me for 3 weeks. Not wanting to wait that long, I called Ocean Ranch and they had an appointment within 48 hours. When I arrived, the staff was friendly and efficient. My wait was minimal and the fee couldn't be beat. If you don't have dental insurance, they offer excellent cash options. The dental exam was thorough and the dds actually cleaned my teeth. The best news was no cavity and there was no pressure to upsale any additional services or products. I felt like the dentist respected my personal choices and that they were giving honest professional advice. Great fins in my book. read more

STAY AWAY! This is not a dentist office that cares about patient care. You barely see the dentist and when you do it's brief. Then you have the office chihuahua aka Adriana. She is the worst! No patient care,unempathetic lies,lies and lies! She will call you repeatedly and quote you pricing then flip the script the day before you go in for treatment. She LOVES to use "Dr Said" and your only option is to deal with her where she will tell you one thing and change it later...When you question her she gets irritated,red and crosses her hands and shuts down.Then comes the BEST part! She will tell you that the dentist and her "talked about it" and feel you are unhappy with them therefore "You have been banned from the Office" and to leave or she will call security! Again the dentist is nowhere to be found or will even talk to you. Why would anyone give this place a penny of their money?! Who treats patient like this? If you ask for documentation of your chart she is decline giving them to you (By law she can not do that). So save yourselves the time wasted and your money! Look through their reviews and you will see this is a repeated pattern of banning patients when they question her. This is what happens when the business as a whole has a weak back bone! read more

Well as first impressions go they deserve 5 stars! From Adriana at the front desk (and did my x-rays) she was very personable and made me feel so at ease, the hygienist (sorry I forgot your name) who was super sweet and did an amazing job cleaning my teeth, always conscious of my comfort during the cleaning. To Dr. Tran who was also super nice and took his time to talk to me, which is a huge deal to not feel rushed! I have been coming to Vanessa Lee and Huy Tran for about 3 years. They are kind and very encouraging in our dental care. So far, my husband who is 82 and I am 68, have only needed teeth cleaned. They don't try any high pressure tactics as some dentists used in past. Adrianna at front desk is very professional and kind in scheduling and payment handling. I had dental coverage till I was 65 through my company but it expired when I reached Medicare age. I have dental coverage through that source but don't like reviews read online about their provider so would rather pay out of pocket than go to other dentist as being cared for by Ocean Ranch dentistry is comforting. Ocean Ranch recently changed locations and added new dental hygienist named Laura. I was somewhat apprehensive having someone new but she also is remarkably kind and thorough and attentive. Dr Lee was super friendly, she made me feel comfortable and was very gentle. She explained everything she was doing and answered any questions I had about the procedure. Doctors are great, I even referred my sister who now goes there, unfortunately their front desk help (Adriana) is rude. I called to make an appointment for my husband and her people skills left a lot to be desired. She was rude but I let bygones be bygones and called to schedule an appointment today but apparently I am no longer welcomed there! Be careful when dealing with Adriana because if you speak up you too will be without dental care, such a shame. The doctors should really care about their patients more, we had a small disagreement with no name calling or bad words but now I'm banned from going there!!!! You should really think twice about going there if this is how they treated one patient whose to say they won't treat you this way. read more

Dr.Tran has been my dentist for years. I would always refer my friends and family to them. Any how Adriana used to be be very sweet and kind and now she' rude and inconsiderate!! I had my last cleaning with them in January and there was some lack of communication regarding polices and procedures. She informed Dr. Tran that I was unhappy with the polices and treatments. So they had planned to fire me as a patient after my last visit but 7 months later I call for a cleaning and Adriana puts me on a long hold I wasn't able to hold because of my newborn, so she calls me back and says that they wanted to give me the " COURTESY" and let me know that they will not be able to treat me or my husband! My husband had nothing to do with my conversation with her. I asked to speak with Dr.Tran and she said none of our staff will be speaking with you! As a business I feel the Dr. Should of called me and asked me what had happened and what can be done to fix the confusion... I can't believe this over some miss communication! So then Adriana says I can forward your X-ray's! I still insisted to speak to Dr.Tran but she refused to give him the message and hung up the phone! I will let all of my friends and family know to be careful around her" she's vindictive" And in another note- I don't even recall what happened 7 months ago, I was 5 months pregnant at the time of my last visit... she must not know the hormones we have! So to fire me without any warnings is just wrong! I'm sad that I was forced to leave Dr.Tran. I'm also going to make a complaint with my insurance read more

I came here today and was so happy with my visit. The friendly staff made it comfortable as soon as I walked in. They took my temperature and made me wash my hands and rinse my mouth, which I appreciated. It shows that they are very thorough and take precautions to ensure that everyone is safe. The hygienist was very personable and did her job well. She took her time and was gentle. She talked me through everything. This has by far been the best dentist experience I've ever had. Every visit I've had was pain free and Dr. Tran makes it near impossible for you to fear coming to the dentist. He's got a very calming personality and it got to the point that I actually started to enjoy going to my cleanings. Starting going here in January after not going to the dentist for years. I was so apprehensive to go because of my history of bad teeth and lack of taking care of them for so long. After my initial appointment I was set up with a plan for my teeth that included exactly what was happening and how much each appointment would be. Dr. Tran and Adriana have made my experience at Ocean Ranch Dentistry so pleasant and easy!!! They answer all of my questions and are very helpful with directions and instructions for tooth care. Plus every staff member I have seen/talked to here is sooooo nice!!! They have fixed teeth that previous dentists told me would only be fixed with $3000+ implants. I have gone to this dentist for about 5-7 years and do not have insurance. First thing that brought me to this practice was that I needed a crown re-glued then eventually replaced, a few fillings and routine cleaning. I realize everything goes up in cost and according to a recent letter sent they had been running the cleaning special for 11 years at $125 but now for those of us who do not have insurance it will be going up to $225. I'm sorry to say that things will now change for me - no more routine cleaning or checkups - will now just have to see the dentist when I know something isn't right. read more

I was a patient of Dr Tran's a year ago1. I had a crown replaced on a tooth that had a root canal done years ago. If I knew that they only do zirconia crowns in advance and that that would have made my tooth appear darker through a somewhat transparent crown I would have went elsewhere. Seems like he didn't care about the cosmetics of it even though the he knew damn well that it would not appear good. What a joke. He only wanted an expensive crown so of course they only do zirconia. 2. had a filling on tooth 3 that had chipped in between tooth 3 & 4 only 1 day after my visit. I went back because I couldn't floss and when presented with the problem he just drilled the chip all the way down to the gums creating a huge pocket for food to gather in. He knew he was in the wrong when he first did this and beat his hand only the desk in frustration not knowing I was watching him. I wish I had spoken up and demanded that the pocket be filled again because I eventually had the tooth crowned at thank god a different place. Thanks for nothing... and it was pricey with insurance after dental guards whitener whole shabang that are now useless with major restorations being done. Thanks again! read more

Customer service from making the appointment with Adriana to my final consultation with Dr. Lee exceeded my expectations. I had to come to the office three times and each time there was no more than one person in the waiting room. Adriana handled the insurance matters with ease and carefully explained my costs. Ocean Ranch Dentistry is a hidden gem! My family and I have been going to Dr. Lee, Dr. Tran, and their RDA Adrianna for years. I have had bad experiences in the past with prior dentists but the staff here has helped me over come my dental phobias. Best dentist I've ever been to! My boyfriend recommended this dentist to me a year ago after I was told by my last dentist that I would need a root canal. As suggested, I went to Ocean Ranch for a second opinion. The staff was so sweet, caring and personal. I actually felt very comfortable being there despite the circumstances. Ocean ranch dentistry told me that I did not need a root canal and they filled the cavity that I had in that tooth without any problems.
