Poor customer service. We arrived with a party of 5 and were told the wait would be about 45 minutes. We waited about that long. Everything was fine until a group of 8 people, who had arrived 15 minutes after us, were seated before us. We asked why they were seated first when we had arrived before and were told they were clearing our table and it should be a minute or two. That would have been great, However that was not the case as 10 minutes later we were still waiting to be seated. We asked again if our table was ready, at this point about an hour after we arrived to the restaurant, and were told it would be another 20 minutes. Have never been lied to at a restaurant before. Was very disappointed with how our party was handled. We went to a different restaurant. read more

A group of friends and I decided to eat here on a Saturday afternoon during our spring break trip. It doesn't take much to impress our group of college students, but this place was subpar at best. Our waitress was horrible, brought out unsweet tea instead of sweet, and when one member of our group asked for a Rum n' Coke (the special for the day) she brought out a regular coke instead. She tried to double charge me for asking for a drink to go, and the only refills we got during our visit was from the bus boy as our waitress was nowhere to be found. We stopped here because everywhere else Yelp recommended on Highway 12 was closed. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the Black and Bleu burger with steak fries. It was a really good burger and the steak fries were probably the best I've had. Crispy outside and hot inside. My wife had the fish and old bay chips. Fish was lightly breaded and had good flavor. The chips were crisp with just enough old bay flavor. I would stop here again. read more

We went here for breakfast. I had the steak and eggs, which were very good. I rated them down a bit because the steak had been allowed to cool too long. My wife had the Greek Omelette and said it was delicious. Probably the best choice in town for a tasty and reasonably priced breakfast. read more

The food was awesome! The waitress not so much. From the beginning it was a terrible experience. We asked to be seated and she rolled her eyes at us like we had offended her in some way. She was loud, rude, and made you feel uncomfortable. She brought out our drinks, spilled water all over the table and didn't even say "sorry" or offer to bring napkins. Our table was wet the entire meal. We decided not to get an appetizer because we didn't want to spend any extra time in that place. Once our food arrived, we were never offered napkins or asked if we needed anything else. Usually I don't care about that kind of stuff, because I recognize places get busy and servers make mistakes, but this woman was just flat out rude. She made me want to leave before we even placed our order. The bus boy was way more helpful and acted like he wanted to be there... unlike our server. She was very rude and aggressive to say the least. She didn't act like she wanted to be there or wanted to serve us at all. Seriously though, the food was decent. But that woman, we'll call her "M" shouldn't be in food service. Go stock shelves lady. read more

We had a very nice dinner here last week. The Sesame Tuna was GREAT, as were the crab cakes. The servicer was very nice and attentive. We asked her to bring our course slowly. This was accompanied by an amazing salad of spinach, feta cheese, bacon, and avocado....an incredible combination. Just finished our meal and was outstanding all around. Staff was friendly and accommodating, our waiter Daniel was fantastic. My mother in law even thought he was very handsome :). I had the Seafood Nachos for my entree, and it was huge and delicious. My mom had the shrimp and scallops and they were equally good. Sad this is our last night in Avon and we can't go back, wish we had found out about it earlier in the week. Next time we come to Hatteras Island, this will be a must to return. During our vacation we stopped in to Oceana's Bistro for an early dinner. Right from the beginning of our experience was a disappointment. We were casually greeted coming in the door by two sitting servers who didnt even get up to greet us and kinda pointed to a table for us to sit at. The service didnt get any better from there. I give this establishment 1 stars only because the seafood nachos were delicious...but sadly that's where the delicious ended. The blackened flounder was overcooked and dry and the rub was not good at all. To add insult to injury on that meal the flounder was cold and the macaroni and cheese left a lot to be desired. I ordered a spinach salad which is traditionally served warm with dressing made from the hot bacon grease in order to wilt the spinach as you pour the hot dressing. It was not served in the traditional way as it and the dressing was cold and the bacon crumbles were cold as well. I was so disappointed with the whole dining experience. The quality of the food is not worth the price tag on the menu. As we finished our meal the waitress brought us our check, we paid, and were on our way without a thanks for coming or have a good evening. This is not a place I will go to again or recommend. read more

They didn't know a lot about the menu which I can deal with, but at least offer to find out the answers to my questions. Stopped in on 10-10-15 for lunch. Physical location was upscale and inviting. I ordered a Rueban with coleslaw which was very nice. Seems like it is a locals place as the season in wrapping up in OBX and the place was pretty full. All in our party enjoyed the food and it included oyester sandwiches, chef salad, hamburger with fries and fish tacos. Service was good and the waitress was attentive and efficient.
