This is definitely the Best Elks lodge around California! Large clean RV site with a Tikki outdoor bar opened on Tuesday evening (featuring live music!). There is always something fun going on in this lodge, form Monday night football potluck through karaoke night, country band with line dancing, big band, bingo afternoons...etc...etc The kitchen is opened every day for both lunch and dinner except Mondays. Had a friend who raves about the cheap steak dinners here on Thursday nights. He is a member so he said he could take us one week. We finally met up with him and his wife there. We walked in and noticed men in suits. We were definitely underdressed. We started walking toward the bar and I noticed a group standing around one of the high top tables. A white man had his back towards the entrance but he turned around as we walked in and I have never felt so brown. The look on his face said it all and made me very uncomfortable. Turns out that it was "new member initiation night" or something like that so they weren't doing the steak dinner. Our friend asked if we wanted to grab a drink at the bar before we left. Great North County camping and RV spot in Vista. Huge RV parking area for campers and RV's, fire pits, covered picnic table area if 20+ tables, bbq area, covered "outside bar" cabana - very cool! There's an Elks club lodge, but I didn't see inside, looked pretty big for large gatherings and such. My cousins camp here at least twice a year and we have bbqs and picnics on the facilities. Very well kept place, I'm told they have typical RV hook ups, internet and laundry facilities. read more

Horrible people. Should be ashamed of themselves. We were turned away because their "host" thought our SUPER CUTE RV wasn't up to their standards!?!? Really?! I don't like to do this but she was horrible and we had reservations all set drove a long way and we were tired!!! And we were not allowed to stay it was such an awful experience. Easy check in, clean facilities, friendly folks, good location for my needs over the holidays.

We were very happy to camp there for nearly three weeks. Enjoyed the outside picnic area, bar and cornhole.

The karaoke show on Wednesday nights is top-notch with Patrick Hill as the M.C. Members and guests come from 5pm - 9 pm to enjoy good food choices, great drinks with the renowned "Elk's Pour" which means a strong drink. Plus you can probably get in 3 songs, if you stay til 9. read more

Great place with lots of friendly people. We have stayed here 2 times before in the RV Section. We have full hook ups at a really good rate. The food has always been great in the restaurant and the bartenders are happy and all very nice. If you want even more food options Ciao is next door and Prohibition is across the street. The only reason for 4 stars Vs 5 is that the RV section could use a facelift. I wish I lived here so I could do this for them. Throw away some old stuff, clean up around the couple of rigs that are permanent. Our view was not as good during our last visit because of the neighbor home with too much stuff across the way. read more

What a great lodge with the most welcoming people! We are visiting the RV park with our new RV and are having such a great time! Everyone in the lodge has made sure we feel welcomed, and we have eaten several great meals in the lodge so far. Tonight (Wednesday) is buffet and karaoke night (open to the general public), and there are more excellent singers than we ever ever seen in a karaoke bar! One of the members (Jerry), is as close the professional as you can get, and it was a great treat to hear to him sing! And, he's 81 years old! I am a member and if you ever want to know about the B.P.O.E just google them, they are an amazing organization that has been around forever, and if you are interested in joining and need someone to sponsor you let me know, I'm trying to get a younger base in here. This lodge is really great, it has a great hall for any event, but the bar is where it is at and of course the food is always a good deal. It could use a tad bit of updating but we will get there i'm sure. Please keep in mind if you want to go to the bar you have to be sponsored by a member just FYI, but some of the nicest people you will ever meet. read more

Stayed with a group in the RV park and it was gr8 for the price in SoCal. FHU, but narrow & very close to your neighbor. Free wifi spotty unless in the lodge. Nice covered patio w/bbq and fire pits (wood provided) for group dinners. The lodge had a bar & and a burn-your-own steak/chicken/shrimp with trimmings ($8-$15) on Thurs; Menu with V-E-R-Y slow service but gr8 food on Fri and ample Sun Breakfast off the menu. Would return to support the bar/lodge some of the time but also to eat across the street at Prohibition Brewery! read more

Elks lodge is a lot of fun. I like to order the sirloin. Every steak I have had has been melt in your mouth delicious. The burgers are all beef and hand formed they are really good too but really big enough for two. The outside patio area is great for the kiddos to run around and be busy. I am the Chairman of the Santa Margarita River Chapter of California Waterfowl Association. This past weekend was our 3rd annual banquet and 2nd of such held at the Vista Elks lodge. I can't say enough about how timely, and friendly the staff is there. Doors opend at 530pm, tables were set and wait staff was ready. Salads were served at 630, dinner shortly after, and WOW what a tasty prime rib they made! The only reason for a "4" and not a "5" star rating is the microphone issues. Staff is working through it and I look forward to having our 4th annual banquet there next year on August 16th. I went back to settle up my bill with the Manager of the Lodge and had breakfast there. I used to love coming to Vista Elks lodge to play bingo. My husband and I even started volunteering there and we enjoyed it and all the people who would play bingo there. Unfortunately, the bingo "manager" Dawn is not very friendly and treats her volunteers like crap. The games aren't very fair either. A lot of us spend quite a bit of money on the horse race flash boards and on one of those games not all the balls were dropped from the game before, so the horse that won was the one that had all their balls in the machine. She did nothing about it to make it a fair game. She claimed to the people in front that "it's a rookie mistake." The game should've been started over. When people were complaining to my husband and I, my husband brought it up to her and she came to the other volunteers and called my husband an a**hole! That is very unprofessional and uncalled for. Then when you bring it to the attention of the person in charge of her, your emails, phone calls and concerns get ignored. It's sad that the Elks would continue to have someone who doesn't appreciate their volunteers and who is rude to continue to run the bingo. read more

I attended an NRA dinner this past weekend and I couldn't believe the service they gave. What a joke! We had 200 people attending and we had to turn away about 86 others. Dinner was to start at 6:30 pm because there was a live auction set for 7:15 pm. They started a few minutes late. Place butter on the tables, why I don't know cause they never brought any bread. They were so unorganized that they tried an assembly line method of serving food which didn't work. As for the old waitresses they just stood there while 2 guys tried to prepare 200 plates. Running their fingers through their hair every so often. Something the health department should be aware of. We could've gotten better sevice and food at Chuck E Cheese for half the price.I hope the NRA finds a much more suitable place next time if they want a better turn out. read more

I want to thank the Elks Lodge for all their hard work every year when they provide the children with a holiday event to remember. My son is going to middle school next year so this is our last year with the Elks Lodge and I'm truly sad about it. For years, my son goes to the Elks Lodge where all of the classes perform a holiday song or two on stage. The children are so excited to do it. Then they all have pizza before Santa arrives. Santa gives every child a gift along with a stocking filled with goodies. My son has severe autism. This is a time when my son can perform and every parent understands. The parents take pictures and it feels so wonderful to just relax and do something normal with our kids. I know a lot of hard work goes into this every year. Shopping, gift wrapping, planning.....and I just hope everyone at the Elks Lodge understand just what this means to us....the families of these beautiful children. Thank you. read more
