I recently attended a dinner here. I was always curious what the shadow Ridge golf club looked like inside and it was what I expected. It's kind of an older building that they've revamped a little but it's nice for a neighborhood club. Dinner was started with dinner rolls that were warm and tasty and served with soft butter. Next, we were served a salad, which was good, but mine didn't have enough dressing whilst the person next to me had a lot of dressing. Next, I the filet had ordered the fillet mignon. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. The fillet was cooked well (perfectly medium rare) with an accompanying sauce that complimented it. The veggies were quite crunchy, but I like my veggies that way, and the mashed potatoes tasted very buttery, which I also like. My one drawback was the strawberry cheesecake. It had a freezer burn taste to it. Otherwise, everything was delicious and the space is quite nice. The service quick and efficient. I would definitely return again if I knew someone who was a member. read more

Lovely golf facility and restaurant area. Everyone is friendly and of course was beautiful.

I Went for a tour and looking to join. Kelly was very nice and let me hit some range balls. I proceeded to the range and had a pro tell me to "tuck" my shirt. I know the rules but my shirt was as "tucked" as a un tuckable shirt could be. Mind you, everyone in the driving range didn't have shirts tucked. Needless to say I walked away, but I would love everyone to know how much of a rip off this membership would be. The course is subpar, no gps on carts, and they are asking premium rates. If you are a 60-70 years old this would be a great fit. read more

Absolutely a 10/10 golf club! I've been taking lessons with Coach Tanner for a couple of weeks now and have gone from not even being able to make contact with the ball to a near perfect swing. The club is absolutely stunning, the staff are extremely kind, and the golf lessons are worth it! You can take lessons without being a member of the club, so it's a great way to decide if it's something you'd like to be a part of without the full commitment. read more

Too many members and way too expensive for what you get . Course is closed on Mondays. Weekends are a nightmare because there are just too many golfers. The food is average at best. read more

We just had our wedding here in August and there were so many things that were not okay with this venue and staff. I wasn't going to write a review because I don't like to do this kind of thing , but I wouldn't want anyone else having the same experiences I did . First off they stole my makeup bag from the bridal room it was 300 dollars worth of makeup. The bag was inside my own personal bag and they returned my personal bag without the makeup bag inside , I was so upset the coordinator Cody just apologized said she would check the cameras and never got back to me. We payed for the lily package meaning each guest got a 100 dollar plate, I made name cards for each guest and gave out specific instructions to the coordinators on what table they would sit at and what they had. our package also included cocktail hour after the ceremony. When our special day came the guest had to get their own name cards from a table that was set out by cocktail hour. When dinner service came everything was so chaotic the staff was asking our guest what they had , there wasn't enough bread rolls on the table , the staff knew exactly how many people were sitting at each table and there wasn't at least one roll per person. Keep in mind we payed 100 dollars per person and they couldn't even get a bread roll each! When my mom asked for more bread the staff rudely replied ," that's all you get " 10 people didn't show up so that was 1,000 dollars worth of food Cody mentioned was already made so she couldn't add it to the bar tab, she said our bar tab hit the limit one hour into the party. After I left the wedding I reviewed my package and they were trying to charge me an extra 1,000 since my package included cocktail hour. read more

This was a fun course. We played a full round in less than 4 hours and had a great time. The staff was helpful and polite. They were rather strict about having your shirt tucked in on the course. Lots of parking Golf carts were in good shape Driving range was well maintained and nice People were friendly We had great overall experience. I look forward to playing their again. read more

This rating has NOTHING to do with GOLF! Although there was the cutest lil 4 year old with clubs ... LOL My friends got married this past Saturday. We met in the bar of the Clubhouse to waite for the lil shuttle to take us to their wedding site. I knew if my friends were anywhere I'd find them in the BAR!!! Ok. Drinks were a bit pricey and the bartender didn't really know what Tequila he had but, Ya'll know as a bartender I was able to help him find the HORNITOs! The Shuttle bus took us up to the site of the wedding. There was great shade where we could wait! The site was really pretty. The only bad thing is right when they started the vows someone who lives on the course started using a chainsaw! Luckily someone got them to stop just as we got to hear the IDo's! The room where the reception was held was a nice size. The bartender that was doing the open bar did a great job with the alcohol he had to work with. Everyone seemed happy! The servers who brought out the salads were professional and friendly. No one at our table had any complaints about the food... That's a huge plus! So the lovely couple chose a great place to get hitched! Cheers! read more

Perfect Autumn Wedding! We had our wedding at Shadowridge a week ago. The whole process was flawless. Anna and Codie were very responsive and professional and really helped our vision come to life. The whole event went smoothly and it was great that they had bridal shows throughout the year to help us get in touch with vendors. Our guests loved the food and the DJ, a preferred vendor of Shadowridge. The wedding packages were reasonably priced and included many little things that made the whole planning process that much easier. It was unforgettable! read more

My review is based on the event side of the club. I got married here in October of 2019. My husband an I began looking for venues in April of 2018 and came across Shadowridge Golf Club in May. A friend of ours suggested we check it out and we went in not expecting much. We waited for the Event Planning Manager, Anna for a few minutes and she offered us refreshments right off the bat. She drove us to the wedding site, a lovely secluded gazebo that is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. As we went through options and details she was very straight forward, asked us our budget, and gave us sound advice. There was NO pressure, unlike other venues, and we booked it th next day. Throughout our planning process we met Codie and worked with both Anna and Codie. They were beyond helpful and after interacting with them for over a year, I miss them. There wasn't an email or phone call that went unanswered. They are attentive, kind, and amazing to work with. When I was worried there was always a solution. If I had to do it over I would get married here again. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue. Every staff member is wonderful, the chef is phenomenal, and the pleasure of working with Anna and Codie won't dIsappoint you. read more

Don't book your wedding here!! Anna is 100 percent the most awful coordinator you could ever have!! She was giving a tour as our wedding was going on!! The venue is tiny, food is awful, the room where the bride gets ready in you can't even lock the door because the club members are allowed to use it to access the bathroom. It's a joke!! Not once did this awful women mention any of these things when we asked about the venue. They don't care!! These 5 stars are for Anna Williams, the events director. I took a tour with Anna because I was considering Shadowridge as a wedding venue. She was super sweet and helpful. I ended up not going with them because I wanted an outdoor reception rather than indoor. Anna went out of her way and took the time to email me some good advice and things to look out for at other venues. She didn't need to take the time to do that, but she did and I think that makes her exceptional. The venue is beautiful and affordable. If you are considering it, definitely go have a meeting with Anna :) read more

I'm a returning member of the club. We were members for 4 years when our son was on the golf team at RBV High School. We rejoined about 2 years ago after our son graduated college. We feel fortunate to be back. This is a real "Golfers" Club. You would be hard pressed to find a course that is more well cared for by the staff as well as the members. The Track is somewhat challenging but will always reward the correct shot. The greens are awesome and extremely well maintained... It takes about 4:15 to get through. The Club just went through a renovation a few months ago where the management spent about $1M. A state of that art practice facility was added, The driving range was upgraded - and the Restaurant was Completely Renovated. The food is OUTSTANDING. Excellent facilities available for business meetings and social events - these are no charge to members. Most of the executives from TaylorMade, Calloway, and Titleist, who are Golf Club members - are members here. That should tell you something. TaylorMade even replicated their facility at their "Kingdom" - here. Members get to use the advanced swing analysis technology available here - it's included in the membership.. If you love to golf and your looking for a place to call home in North County - you owe it to yourself to check it out and come out and play. All things considered - it simply doesn't get any better. read more

First I must point out to you that I am not a golfer so have no opinion of the course or anything related to golf or golfing. This review is in regard to the facilities, the restaurant and event space. The service is always good, fast, friendly and on top of things. The grounds and the club seem to be well maintained and clean. The food is always very good, the desserts are awesome! Plenty of parking and located in a great area. Had my wedding here and was very disappointed. Poor communication between staff and beyond rude waiters. Thank goodness for my amazing family, we didn't have any fights happen (it was that bad). One waiter actually told my pregnant guest she didn't need any more rolls after she requested another basket......soooo horrible!!! The same waitress told my husband "the groom" what he wanted and when he asked whatever would be fine, she responded very rudely with "Well I can't serve you unless you pick something". There were no microphones at the ceremony, which had been agreed upon the day before the ceremony during rehearsal. There were supposed to be marks on the ground during the ceremony to be sure we were standing in the middle of the gazebo, which were never done. During clean up, they lost my projector, fog machine, kissing balls from the ceremony, 100 boxes of chocolates that were supposed to be given out at the reception and my guest book. My aunt had made a customized unity candle for the ceremony. However, when we got to the ceremony one of the staff members had ripped off the customized wrapping with our photo and wedding date.....but the best part was that they said they lost our actual candle instead of admitted they ripped off the customized wrapping. It was a priceless item and my heart broke. If you want your dream wedding....don't go here! You will be disappointed. To top it off, there was no reimbursement for the items that were "lost" by the staff. Also, no apology for the inconvenience. But I'm married now and I couldn't be happier! I just recommend taking your money elsewhere. read more

Had our wedding here but wow, definitely not the wedding you would want done here. So many things had gone wrong and not because of things that are bound to happen to go wrong at weddings but because of poor communication and coordination with their staff members. Literally a week and a half before our wedding, the coordinator tells us that she has to go and have a surgery ...but she then would be able to be back the week after to coordinate weddings as if she didn't even have surgery or at least nothing major to prevent her from coming back in less than a week! We tried getting a hold of the manager, Jimmy Letourneau and had tried contacting him to let him know of the lack of professionalism that happened on the day of our wedding and prior to our wedding day..no response other than we will get back to you...3 months later, finally a response but pretty much brushing us off saying that he thought things were already resolved...wow... I say if you're wanting to work with professionals and people who actually want to make sure your wedding goes well,...go elsewhere!! Take your money and make sure it goes to good use to a better venue than this place! read more

We live really close to this Golf Club. My son and his friend signed up for the Junior Golf Camp this summer here. My son has never golfed before so I had no idea if he would even like it. They had extra clubs for him to try it out with. My son hates new things so the first day was tough, he wouldn't stay unless I stayed with him there. The second day , he was much better and he stayed with his friend and had a great time. The Golf Pro staff were really impressive! They went above and beyond to make it a great experience for the kids. I would definitely sign my son up again next summer. read more

It has been almost a year, and we're still frequently reminiscing about our wedding thanks to an absolutely amazing job by Anna and the Shadowridge Golf Club! Anna was super easy to work with, patient, organized, meticulous, knowledgeable, and responsive. She answered our calls/emails quickly, met with us multiple times to answer our numerous questions, and offered great suggestions including useful tips which helped us create our timeline. On our wedding day, Anna made sure everything was laid out accordingly, and ensured everyone stayed on schedule. We didn't have a wedding coordinator, and were so fortunate that Anna went above and beyond and doubled as our event and wedding coordinator. The Shadowridge Golf Club was extremely flexible and accommodating, and had very attentive staff. The venue's cost was really reasonable and included items like onsite shuttle bus service, use of golf carts, TV screen to display our pictures, and a tasty cake from Flour Power. The cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and dinner were delicious, and the reception and bar areas were spacious for our wedding. We were concerned that our wedding photos would look bland with the golf course and houses as the backdrop. However, the pictures came out really great, especially around the gazebo area with the pretty seasonal flowers. It was such a pleasure working with Anna and the Shadowridge Golf Club, and we highly recommend both! read more

In 2004 I moved to Vista and joined Shadowridge Golf Club in March of that year. Now that I have been a member for over nine (9) years, I cannot even list all of the things and people I would missed in Vista, San Diego and Southern CA, if not for Shadowridge GC. Yes we play golf, we eat (thanks to Chef McKensie), drink (thanks a lot to our bartender Dane) and most importantly meet up with and spend time with an amazing group of fellow members. At the typical Country Club some if not most, of the members are impressed with themselves and are looking for opportunities to share their success from business and life, with others. At Shadowridge GC we have NONE of this behavior among our members, in fact it is hard to tell what a person does or did for a living. I am constantly reminded of this unique advantage ... during my years at SRGC. Our Golf Course is impressive and fun for all types of players. On one side of the ability scale SRGC has a significant quantity of our membership that comes from the golf industry. TaylorMade, Calloway, Titelist, Lamkin, and Fujikure and several other companies are all represented at SRGC. Not only do we have employees but in several cases the upper management and CEO's are active members at SRGC. This is important because these golf industry personal could be members at any golf club San Diego and to a person they choose SRGC. If someone feels that they are a good player and want to be tested, SRGC could be considered an excellent testing ground. I am also a participant in our "couple events" that include all levels of play. We have a Thursday and Sunday couples event, once a month. After golf during the week and on weekends we gather in the "grill" for food and cocktails (remember Dane). The "grill" at SRGC is in the final stages of a huge "reinvention" that should have a Grand Opening during May 2013. I am sure some of you reading this information are what is referred to as "range rat". This is an affectionate term for a person how loves to practice. I need to mention that I hit a few balls and try to chip and putt but i am not as dedicated as I should be to practice. I digress ... the reason that I mention this is because our practice facility is second-to-none. The driving range has target greens with bunkers, the short game practice area has a true chipping green and the precision pitching area has greens at 45, 60,75 and 90 yards. In addition a 2nd practice putting green (with lights) is in the final stages of "growing in" and will provide a substantial practice green adjacent to the 1st and 10th tees. If you are a practice guru then SRGC is a perfect match for your objectives. The management team at SRGC is also very good with a "water conservation" expert as the Maintenance Superintendent, a F&B Manager who leads by example, our Outside Events Coordinator who everyone thinks is a perfect fit and a Membership Director who has the passion and empathy to listen and understand the needs and requirements of both prospective and existing members. The leader of this management team is our GM and he has been an employee of SRGC for well over 30 years and started in the cart barn. There are a lot of choices for golf in North County San Diego. Some are public and others are private but on the VALUE of membership, SRGC has none that are even close. If someone has a grumble about something at SRGC, I would challenge them to play at any other facility in the North County and they will come "running" back talking about how good we have it at SRGC. Every time I play somewhere else, I am always comparing that experience with my "life at the Ridge" ... just like vacations to other locations have to be compared with life in Vista and San Diego. read more

This review will be a work in progress but we didn't want to wait to start saying good things about Anna Williams, the event coordinator! My fiancé and I moved here from Texas and prior to our move, Anna was very responsive to both phone calls and emails and was full of all the information we need. Once arriving in California, we were hit with the COVID-19 crisis and feared the worst for our wedding. But Anna was very communicative and honest and helped us reschedule. She has assisted in vendor selection to ensure we would be refunded 100% should COVID still be an issue, offered us refreshments as soon as we arrived for the DETAILED meeting to plan the day, gave us a great tour of the facility, and has been in touch with reminders and suggestions every step of the way. We haven't had the wedding yet (hence the work in progress note) but so far we are very impressed with the level of customer service and Anna's friendly approach. We can't wait to see what everything will look like! read more

DO NOT USE THE PLACE FOR ANYTHING. Calling it a country club is a stretch at best. It is old and needs to updated and the people there do not keep thier word. If they tell you anything please make sure it is put in writing or they won't honor it or swear it didn't happen. They only care about your money not about you. We had a short engagement so everything happened at light-speed, but Anna made getting/organizing the venue almost as easy as my decision to propose. We got what we wanted at a reasonable price and the event itself was one for the ages. My husband and I got married here on 9/9/12. From the beginning we had problems. The event planner in charge, Amber, seemed to not get any of my emails. Which was weird because every one of my other venders did. Any questions I had were either not answered or answered after calling multiple times or going there directly. For example, we wanted to do fruit tarts with the cake and we did not get a dollar amount for them until 2 1/2 months later when I went to finalize the plans and I was sitting in front of her. And you can not use outside vendors AT ALL. Not for chair covers, wine. ect. I could not even bring my own water to ceremony site, (which is uncovered and no shade at all). I would have had to pay for theirs, at 3.00 at bottle. But the main issue I have is that the day of, we did a handfasting ceremony with ribbon. It is a Celtic tradition that we incorporated into the day. After the ceremony, the officant handed the ribbon knot to Amber and asked her to hold it for us, since she had to go get the signatures. Instead of holding on to it, as she was asked, she threw it away. She though it was "scraps", her words, and so therefore unimportant. With everything going on, I did not realize until the next day we did not have it. And according to the General Manger, they are not responsible for lost or stolen property once the event is over, per their attorneys based on the contract I signed. My request for a description of the Wedding Coordinator for the day's duties that was included in my contract have gone unanswered. As that description is not listed in the contract, I would like to know what exactly the responsiblities are. In short, DO NOT USE THIS CLUB FOR YOUR WEDDING. You do not get the top notch service that you would expect for the prices they charge. And a previous wedding a friend attended was horrible as well, I just did not find out about that one until after we had signed. We thought it would get better, that the hitchs were just a one time thing til it kept happening and by then it was too late. Please take my advice. There are other nice venues that won't treat you like you don't matter or aren't good enough because you aren't a member. read more

We originally booked our wedding with Amber. She left and Elise took over. I was a little afraid but the transition was great! Elise was so nice and responded to my emails promptly. I had a lot changes through the process and she was so nice and didn't have a problem giving me all the different options I requested. The food tasting was great we chose cheese and crackers as well as the chicken kabobs for hours d'oeuvres and the grilled chicken with artichoke sauce and the grilled sirloin for dinner. The day of the wedding was great Elise was there but was not too over bearing. She allowed us to do our thing in the bridal room and checked in periodically. The venue was ready early so I was able to get in and set up fairly quickly. The ceremony site was great and beautiful. We were upgraded to a bigger bus to transport our guests to the ceremony site which was great. Our dinner options were both delicious! Our guests were especially impressed with the sirloin. The staff was so nice and were attentive to us the entire time. The cake was also delicious. Overall this place is great for the price. The only thing I would suggest an improvement on is the champagne fountain. Several of our guests complained it was warm. You won't spend a lot and you get a lot for you money. Elise again was great and we had the most amazing wedding! read more

Wedding Anna and Codie were absolutely wonderful. I did all my wedding decorations myself and they were extremely supportive when it came to setup. I did my work and had my decor organized with some simple instructions. Anna was punctual and cared about every detail. We met throughout the course of the year and comforted me anytime I was feeling apprehensive. Codie was so sweet and helpful at the linen meeting. I brought my color scheme and we all figured it out together. The venue was clean and beautiful. Anna found my DJ and my family said it was the best DJ they've ever seen. Anna worked closely with my photographer and the florist. I was so impressed with her communication. On the day of, I was almost emotional looking at my sweetheart table. Anna really cared. With just a few Pinterest photos, a few meetings and a bit of preparation on my part... we all created a beautiful set up. I'm so grateful and will never regret this choice. read more

I recently got married at Shadowridge and it was amazing. The course is beautiful and the ceremony site absolutely gorgeous! The service is outstanding. Amber the Private Events Director is fantastic! Amber worked with my ideas and made them all possible. My guest loved the atmosphere and the food was so delicious. Kristin the Food and Beverage Director and her staff were amazing in accommodating my reception. My wedding was special because well it was my wedding but Amber, Kristin, and the Shadowridge staff lived up to exceptional standards to make it even more special.
