I love the pier! We normally stay in on Oceanside near the beach every year. The views of San Diego salute formation flyover team was Amazing.. We bought our chairs near the rock garden cir and had the perfect view near the pier. We were able to video and I watched with my binoculars. This was held on the 4th of July 2026. So glad we had the opportunity to intake in such amazing views.

One of the longest piers on the west coast. Absolutely amazing beach views on both sides, with beautiful walks and beautiful sunsets. Can fish as well and don't need a permit. Originally built in 1888, it has been repaired and rebuilt several times.

It was busy on a Sunday afternoon and as we got closer signs began popping up at motel and vacant lots charging $10 and more to park. We drove the area and found metered parking at a reasonable rate with a short walk to the pier. The strand along the beach was crazy busy, allowing cars and the family style 5 seater bicycles along with any other rental to ride there as well. You can access beach parking from the strand, but the drive can be super slow and frustrating when caught behind a group of bicycles. We enjoyed the views on our walk down the pier. It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were enjoying the beach. The pier is fairly long and it was a nice walk after eating at one of the restaurants nearby. There is a small store and restrooms on the pier. Lots of people fishing and it was really cool getting a close up pic of the pelican.

This is such a nice walk. It's not too hard to park in the area and it's a pretty easy walk. I have a friend renting a place for a month on the beach and was visiting. After getting donuts nearby, a walk was definitely necessary. It was a beautiful November day and there was lots of people out and about walking and fishing as well as surfing. I like that you can walk halfway across the pier and look down at the surfers catching waves below. It's fun to watch. There are birds everywhere and lots of pelicans and seagulls for photo ops. The walk isn't very long and there's information along the sides. Like a land survey that you can use the QR code stick your camera in the stand they have and take a photo which is sent to the land surveyors. What a great way to keep an eye on the coastline. Unfortunately, due to a fire, you can no longer go all the way to the end, but we are all waiting to see what the new renovation will look like. It's such a pretty walk. The surface is a bit uneven so be prepared if you are with someone who has a little bit of difficulty walking. At night it's lit up by lights, but walking by day is preferable.

OCEANSIDE PIER is my CHILDHOOD! I remember coming here for Math field trips when I was in school, we would have sand castle battles and measure the geometric shapes of sand castle structures. Ikr, totally nerdy, but they were good times and I can say O-side helped me come to like algebra. Stories aside, the pier is perfect. It's got sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and its majestic waves. You'll spot pelicans and other feathered friends perched with locals. Sometimes there's entertainers and poets offering unforgettable memories for tourists and regulars alike. Forgot something? There's a booth by the lifeguard tower with snacks, coffee, hot cocoa, and fishing items. REMEMBER: Don't FEED the sea creatures, they'll walk all over you if you do!

Oceanside Pier is a must-visit place if you're in the area. It's walking distance to many nearby restaurants and bars, and is even near the vintage house that was featured in the original Top Gun film. There's not much to at the pier itself, but I think the simplicity is what makes the experience that much more special. The sunset, ocean water, and horizon is a view that's worthy of a long gazing. I did see a lot of families with young kids fishing and patiently waiting for something to happen. What I liked about the pier is that it didn't feel like a typical touristy/trendy pier, but rather a spot where locales take walks and relax. Overall, I'd love to come back to watch the waves and sunset again.

I'm glad Oceanside's historic wooden pier is nearby. Here's a fun fact, it's one of the longest on the west coast of the United States. How awesome is that!! When I'm there, I enjoy being in the moment with the mesmerizing sunsets, amusing people/wildlife-watching, and listening to talented performers. The coastal vibe is always perrrfect! It puts me at ease - I feel sooo relaxed and carefree...taking it ALL in. This iconic pier is definitely a must-see if you're in the area for some O'side spirit :-) FYI: It's in walking distance to shops, restaurants, the farmer's/sunset markets, movie theater...you name it.

Beautiful sight of the ocean from top of the pier.

It's kind of like the no frill pier you can visit anytime - nothing really flashy here but the sight of old wooden pier, with plenty of walkway to conquer, through the end of the pier. Perfect to relax and for people watching, as well as the regulars who come out to this pier to catch some fish. It does have a little bit of odor here, probably from all the fishing that's done here. But the smell of the ocean will overwhelm you in a good way. Very close by to the local shops and hotels in the vincnity. You can get here by car or if you're adventurous, the Metrolink train comes here from the O.C.

Ocean Side Pier is great spot for fishing on the pier, riding the waves, taking a bike ride along the coast, picnic in at the beach, there's lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance, and the house from the movie Top Gun is located across the pier. it seemed pretty safe as we did take a night stroll along the pier after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. also, conveniently located on the pier R restrooms.

We did a little staycation in June and stayed at the Seabird hotel. Perfect romantic stroll nearby! We walked over here after the Sunset Market started to get crowded. Loving the skies!

First time visiting and the pier is beautiful. Didn't go one the beach because it was so crowded with people on the beach. Stunning views and easy pier to walk.

I used to live in Oceanside, and I will never get tired of this place. It holds so many memories. I love watching the sunsets here. I also love going here at night because it's peaceful and quiet. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops to check out around the area.

Having access to both Mission Pacific and The Seabird across the street made the experience feel even more expansive and luxurious. The property itself is gorgeous and the aesthetic is immaculate. However, the service during our stay fell significantly short of what a property of this caliber should deliver. I traveled with a 4-month-old infant and requested a pack & play multiple times over three weeks and it wasn't in my room upon arrival despite repeated confirmations. The front desk was consistently unreachable by phone throughout our stay, which made accessing the resort fee amenities we paid for nearly impossible. I genuinely believe this may have been a staffing issue specific to our visit rather than a reflection of the property's standard. I would absolutely return, the location and property alone make it worth it. I just hope the service matches the beauty of the space next time.

However, warning- if you are in the middle ocean front rooms (i.e. room 530), they are located outside and there is a train behind the property that runs all night. The manager offered to switch our room but it would have been a downgrade to an ocean view room so we decided to deal with the noise. Note that you also can't see the sunset from those rooms as it is blocked by the rooms on the west side. The front desk service was great. They offered us some wine and champagne and provided us with water bottles. The rooftop pool is wonderful. It's a nice place to lounge. The pool is heated so didn't feel too cold, but we were also there during a heat advisory 75+ degrees). There is a live dj playing lounge music. The food and drinks are expensive so we didn't really order anything. Overall a nice stay, but if we ever go back I would make sure we don't get one of the outside rooms.

She was right! I got the Stratford Scramble and a mocha latte with oat milk. The scramble was a HUGE portion and delicious. Did it completely wow me? No, but I definitely enjoyed it! The mocha latte was SO good. Nuzz got the Chilaquiles Jalisco and his first ever nitro cold brew. He loved both! The chilaquiles weren't too spicy, and he said the nitro was different from any cold brew he's had before and almost creamy. But the COFFEE CAKE!! When they asked if we wanted toast or coffee cake, we both chose coffee cake and thank goodness we did Soft, sweet, icing drizzled on top and SO good. That is something I would 100% come back for! The fountain drinks, coffee, and tea are self-serve, which makes everything simple and convenient. Our visit was great! I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were delicious--flavorful but not spicy. My kids ordered chicken and fries, while my daughter got a hamburger, which she really enjoyed. Another thing I liked is that since you pay when you order, once you're finished eating, you can simply leave without having to wait for the check. I also want to give a special thank you to Tiffany, the manager. I accidentally forgot my wallet, and thankfully someone turned it in. Tiffany was extremely helpful and made sure I was able to get it back. I truly appreciate her and the staff at Stratford!
