View from our table overlooking the harbor

We were searching Yelp for places to eat at the Harbor in Oceanside and came across this gem. We walked over a mile to get here, and it was absolutely worth it. Sitting outside enjoying a delicious breakfast while overlooking the harbor was amazing. You order at the counter, and we were helped by a very friendly staff member. I added a glass of champagne, and we both enjoyed our meals tremendously. Everything was fantastic! We'll definitely be back next time to try something different.

Was here for a quick work meeting but this will definitely be a regularly visited place. The ambience is chill, location is relaxing and leaves you compelled to go next door and book a whale-watching tour. The menu options offer a good variety. I opted for a healthy choice and it was perfect. The table next to us almost had me tempted to interrupt them to take pics of their dishes as every one of their plates came out with a beautiful presentation. They do honor a military discount Looking forward to my next visit and more food pics.

We went early on a Friday morning. They were quite busy and seemed to be under staffed. Staff was friendly. You walk up to a counter to order food. The cashier is also responsible for making coffee orders, so she has to balance her time between the two making the line longer than necessary. At one point, they also stopped the line from ordering because they had to roll silverware and catch up with coffee orders. Once the food arrived, both the corned beef hash and cinnamon pancakes were tasty. The corned beef had large chunks of red onion, I could have done without that. The pancakes were sweet but fluffy and well made. Coffee cake was just ok. A little dry. We sat outside and the view of the marina was great. We probably will not return until as we did not like the wait when placing the order.

If you're looking for brunch with a view, look no further--Stratford at the Harbor is the spot! Plenty of breakfast and lunch options, and a nice outdoor patio which is also dog friendly. You have to order at the counter and they bring your food out. The food was really good too!

Parking can be difficult so allot some time for this, found some nearby after waiting for some people to leave. The location is great, we sat outside & had a nice view of the harbor & people watched. Got a latte to start with, had the maple one iced which was tasty. Got the corned beef hash with avocado instead of egg & the coffee cake. All of which was delicious. You order at the counter & take a seat, the food came out pretty fast & service was friendly. Would recommend for a casual brunch spot with nice views!

Great little local spot. Super friendly staff, excellent location right in the harbor and nice menu with plenty of variety. We stopped for breakfast this morning and really enjoyed. We will be back for sure.

First time here and already a fan. Met a friend for breakfast here and the walk up service was great. The girl behind the counter was approachable and patient. It was early enough that we were able to get a seat inside. It's pretty small inside but super cozy, they also have sitting outside so you can enjoy the view. The breakfast was fresh good and it came with their famous coffee cake which is really tasty. Thank you Stratford at the Harbor for your hospitality and tasty breakfast. When we are in the area again we will definitely be back.

We arrived around 8:30 a.m. on a Sunday and sat outside under the heating lamps with our pup, it's a cozy little slice of harbor life but make it vacation. You order at the counter, and before you know it, the food arrives hot. The home fries? A dream which is crisp on the outside, soft and buttery inside. My son's humongous hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course) could make anyone's morning brighter. The corned beef hash and eggs were delicious and pro tip: get your eggs over medium or poached so that golden yolk can drip over everything like it should. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger a little longer by the water.

The service here was really good. All of the staff were really pleasant and friendly. I got a green smoothie exit I think had spinach, mango and kale. It tasted really fresh. The Mahi tacos gets a thumbs down. The Mahi tasted like it was made from a frozen filet and the taco fillings seemed randomly constructed with cheddar cheese, avocado and cabbage. It just didn't taste well together but I was hungry so I ate. However, the fries were delicious. I also loved the coffee cake and pancakes. Both tasted fresh and delicious. The view from the outside was beautiful overloooking the harbor.

Chilaquiles Jalisco and Lobster Benedictlobster

Stopped in Oceanside for brunch and landed upon this lovely finding right by the pier. Ordered a lobster Benedict for such a good deal, and chilaquiles Jalisco with chicken AND poached eggs and guacamole AND sourdough bread AND hashbrowns! Absolutely amazing deal and delicious and freshly made! It's a place where you order first and find your own seating. Service was prompt and ambiance was beachy and beautiful. Definitely coming back!!

I must say Stratford at the Harbor got me hooked. I've been there a couple of times and my brunch experience has always been positively consistent. It's my go-to spot when I have friends/family in town visiting. I sincerely apologize for the delay with this 5-star stellar review. Located in the lovely Oceanside harbor, the Yelp Community must go to get inspired by the captivating waterfront view, amazing food (especially known for their coffee cake) and awesome hospitality from staff. Just note, you place your order at the counter then self-seating is available with table service. You definitely can't go wrong with dining at Stratford :-D

***Be sure to not back your car in the parking lot ( a $50 fine ) in any of Oceanside Ca city public parking lot ) Indoor and outdoor seating, First come first serve seatings . Outdoor canopy cover seating on the harbor overlooking the boat dockyard . each staff I encountered were nothing short of amazing, friendly and welcoming. No waitstaff to take orders, staff will bring food to the table once it is placed at the register. I am always a sucker for made in house desserts and clam chowder. Their coffee cake was so flavorful and moist . The clam chowder didn't have much of a creamy taste, it was ok I wouldn't order it again though. I never had corned beef ever and didn't know what to expect, since it is one of their signature dish made in house . I naturally have to try. Loads of shredded beef with potatoes and cheese. It was pretty good considering my first time. After a full belly of goodness be sure to stroll to Harbor Beach enjoy waddling in the water . Walk is about 20-30 minutes ( drive is 5- minutes)

Tri-tip and Lobster scramble, a good way to start the day. Eggs generally served poached but you can ask for what you'd like.

Reading the other reviews, I think they're confusing it for the place that came before (sit down diner, was a local favorite). What is here now: you grab a menu and hop in line. The line can be long, there can be a bit of a wait. Oftentimes the cashier is pulling double duty as barista, and they make your coffee when you order it. Prices have seem to have gone up (as the have everywhere), and of course since they are at the harbor it is tourist priced. Pricing is more akin to a sit down service establishment, but menus can be viewed online so you can prepare. In all fairness, reviews talking about dirty tables aren't far off. Since there's no waitstaff, the tables don't generally get bussed until folks leave (could be handy to have a bus tub for folks to drop off their own plates, so that tables get turned over faster). It is a nice view, they have a wide variety, and the coffee bar is handy. I've ordered basic breakfasts and avocado toast in previous visits. Food is not over seasoned so be prepared to add salt and pepper, or sour cream, salsas, guacamole, or pico as desired (you can make some of the people happy some of the time, but you can't make all of the people happy all of the time). This go around ordered a mini buffet: tasty breakfast burrito with bacon extra crispy (), berry crepes, yogurt with fresh fruit and grains, very very tasty chicken chilaquiles, and tri-tip and lobster. Flavor of the lobster mixed with the hash browns and sauce were pretty tasty...the tri-tip wasn't memorable, thinner strip as opposed to diced would have maybe had a better flavor, might have been more tender. But overall, everything was pretty tasty. If you can find parking, it is worth a visit.

Can you accommodate a large party of 15-18?

Yes! We serve gluten free pancakes and customers give them high marks! -Josh

How long is the wait time on Sundays?

Does this place have bottomless mimosas?

No.

I'm thinking of coming in for the French toast. Is it served with real maple syrup and real butter? The butter in the photos looks like it could be margarine (due to the color) but it's hard to tell.

Hello! We have real butter and maple syrup on request...we charge a little extra for the real maple syrup. Thank you!

It's a great spot to meet up with friends or bring my mom when she arrives at the Oside train station from Grover Beach. It's a wonderful place to grab a flavored latte, seasonal drink, a glass of wine and a lunch bite, or all of the above! I also look forward to wandering through their gift area every time, where they stock unique jewelry, candles, fragrance rollerballs and 'clean' nail polish, plants and pots, kids' merchandise, t-shirts, and other cute stuff. I always buy something extra (and special) when I come. Their coffee bar is open, as is the general space, and there is plenty of seating outside in front and in back. You can watch the baristas make your drink and peep the beautiful Italian espresso machine and lovely bouquet of dried flowers by the bar while doing so. They bring their food out to you and when your espresso drink is ready they set it on the bar for you to pick up. Definitely a place to hang vs. grabbing a quick drink and rushing off about your day. I always want to stay and catch up with friends or bring my laptop to do some work, and they never make me feel rushed. Truly one of my favorite coffee shops in North County and in SD in general. (There is another high quality coffee shop in Oceanside that has incredible coffee and pastries--I won't mention the name--but I sometimes sense an attitude from the staff there, and that is a bit of a turnoff.)
