The only problem I ran into was trying to find the site itself. There are two roads named Pirateland Blvd and I drove on the wrong one about 6 times before asking for help. Since they've sold over half of the property, the laundromat is now owned and run by Carolina Shores as is the lazy river and pool. They do rent golf carts, but those are very expensive at around $75 / day. I would stay here again as I really enjoyed the beach.

Roads are very narrow and is hard to park an RV and get out with one. The amenities were too far to walk to unless you wanted to rent an overpriced golf cart rental. The WIFI kept going in and out and was not steady. So many rules; I read every one of them on the website and it felt like reading a book. The only good things were an easy walk to the beach and the helpful neighbor. With the other things listed, I would not recommend.

Very clean and friendly front desk. We did not go to pool area, too many kids. Location was great. Has several places to eat next to it. Great places to get a drink in the evening. You can walk straight onto beach next to pier, no steps. The hotel has a access but old wooden steps with grass around it to use. Would be great to make a ramp instead. Parking good on both sides of hotel. Most of rooms have a ocean view balcony. Elevator on ground floor to check in on 2nd floor. A few vending things and nice sitting area. Negative was they opened up a drain into the ocean after it had rained. So it made it hard to walk the beach. I had never seen this at another beach. They dug trenches down into sand. Definitely spoiled the beach vibe.

To start with the house we rented had an attached apartment. When we reserved this location we were told that it was included in the rental. Then the week before we got here we were told that the space had been rented and we would be sharing the property. This forced two of guest to sleep on the floor. We were promised internet and after a week still do not have any. (I can not complete my masters school work) The house has bugs, the microwave doesn't work, and the customer service is the worse. They will ignore our calls, and claim they never got messages. Please save your self the trouble and use another rental company. This one is terrible.

So, we got a great deal on an oceanfront condo in Building B. The condo was nice and has been updated. It could sleep 5, but it was just the 2 of us. 5 would have been tight, but doable. The views of the ocean were great and we are spending a lot of time on the balcony. The amenities are decent. There is a large outdoor pool, and smaller pool area that also has a kids play area and a lazy river. There is also a decent sized indoor pool. The last pool is by the high rise building which is undergoing some renovations and is therefor currently closed. We eat most meals out and leave the resort to do so. Not many options here. This resort lies between two of the largest campgrounds in the MB area. The area by the ocean is gated but unlocked and unmonitored so folks from anywhere on the beach can come and go...and they do. There is zero keeping anyone from using the pools, the restaurants, etc. What we did not know is that the only operating restaurant on property is an open air bar just 100 yards away from our condo. When we arrived on Saturday night they had karaoke. Annoying, but ok, it's Saturday. Then they did it again on Sunday. Ok, so maybe it's a weekend thing. Here we are on Monday and it's going again. It's hard to enjoy an evening on the balcony when every night from 6-11 is filled with off-pitch singing. And as the night goes on, the drunker and louder the crowd gets. Again, our condo is good and the views are great. We love being steps from the beach. But this is a party resort for theand very little ability to enjoy quiet time. Not our style at all.

We did get a text saying the rooms were ready but the cleaning staff made us wait another 20 minutes in both condos. At condo 115 the clleaning lady came out sweeping dirt and sand out the door. These ladies were rude and pushy as if we were inconveniencing them. Once we were in both condos were still dirty . The beds were made with dirty blankets, under the bed had trash and sprite bottles. There was some dirty dishes in the cabinet and the refrigerator had catchup splattered all one the bottom right side. The washer vent was broke, I called and reported it and a maintenance order was supposed to have been written up but no one ever came. The floor in one was sticky and both had uncleaned bathrooms. We basically cleaned it ourselves and Lysoled EVERYTHING!!!!!

The location of the house was perfect, and that was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, there were several serious issues that overshadowed the positives. The most concerning issue was that $400 in cash was stolen from inside the house. Dunes Realty acknowledged that a service repairman entered the property without providing us with sufficient notice. We filed a police report regarding the missing money. Dunes Realty also acknowledged that the individual had only been working for the company for approximately three days at the time. Despite acknowledging the circumstances surrounding the unauthorized/insufficiently noticed entry, the company has not made good on the $400 that was taken. There was also no secure place in the house where we could lock up valuables. There were other issues throughout the stay as well. On the very first day, we were told our towels were "missing." We later discovered that the linens had been left in a Rubbermaid tote outside under the deck by the cleaning company. This was frustrating and could have easily been avoided with better communication. With that there were also no hand towels provided just wash cloths and bath towels. On the first day while entering the house as well the screen door handle kept falling off multiple times throughout the stay at Cobia Cottage. There were other issues as well, such as they did not provide paper towels, they left each bathroom with about half roll of toilet paper and they only provided one garbage bag. They also did not provide sponges or dish soaps. Considering how much we spent on this rental it's very disappointing that the basic essentials were not provided. The wash and dryer are also located outside in a closet which was an inconvenience. The garbage can outside also smelt as if something had died in it that's has disgusting and gross and smelling it was. On our last day, we were instructed to strip the linens from the beds. When we did, we found that the pillows were absolutely disgusting, with visible soiling and sweat stains. For a rental costing $3,600, we expected much better cleanliness and upkeep. The kitchen also did not meet our expectations for the price. The pots and pans were mismatched, and the knives were extremely dull. Additionally, the window in the front bedroom leaked when it rained and we had water all over the bedroom that we had to clean. Overall, while the location was excellent, the lack of communication, the entry into the property by a service worker without sufficient notice, the $400 that went missing, and Dunes Realty's failure to make the situation right were major concerns. The other cleanliness and maintenance issues only added to the disappointment. Based on this experience, we would not rent through Dunes Realty again.

We needed a home with lots of bedrooms & baths...since we were a family group of 16. This home checked all the boxes - plenty of parking, a private pool & beach front! Our initial contact & customer service thru out our vacation week was great. They were prompt & friendly while booking & answered all our questions. Upon arrival we discovered many issues with the home. Primarily cleanliness, the home was dirty & really needed a deep cleaning. Surfside Realty responded quickly to our concerns & offered to send someone out to clean immediately. Because we had already unpacked & were there for a day we did much of the cleaning ourselves. We also didn't have internet & cable for a period of time. Surfside took care of this right away as well. The home's furnishings were outdated & some updating was needed too. For the price we paid I felt that could have been better plus providing better quality bath towels, a gas grill & removing the plastic coverings on the bed mattresses. That being said being right on the beach with private access, the beautiful ocean view, having our own pool & the spacious floor plan...we were happy! Note: Surfside Realty sent a partial refund due to the issues & that was much appreciated. Their customer service & response time was wonderful.
