It would be awesome if the doctors would read these reviews on this site or any other site where…read morethey appear in a review. Healthgrades is one. Ok, so now for my review. Dr. Winslow was very patient and kind to both my daughter with special needs and me, her parent. I would give this review a five star but as the saying goes, there is always one bad apple. The rotten apple was the staff member who did the preliminary exam. Dilated eyes, and so on. But her demeanor sucked. What her problem was I'll never know. She was curt and appeared fumming at me. I remained calm and collected because of course it wasn't about me it was about my daughter and her eyes. This employee was about 5'5 and wore medium length cornrow braids. She was the only employee there who wore cornrow braids. We will return because most if not all the other employees were professional and kind. Like I mentioned, Dr. Winslow was kind, patient and thorough.

SHAME ON YOU!!! my mother's glasses were poorly made, she went back three times!!!!just to have someone "adjust" them there in the office quick junk fix. Was not until I sent the letter stating glasses were not correctly made they said they would fix the issue. Now Mark you tell me we have to pay over $200 for the fix on glasses THEY DIDN'T MAKE CORRECTLY FROM THE BEGINNING!! cause now its too late! Well they were the ones that kept doing some makeshift "adjustments" wasting time and now want to charge. This is ELDER EXPLOITATION and you should be ashamed! You are scammers, liars, theives that take advantage of the elderly!

I have been going here for 10 years,it is usually great. So good that I moved to another city and…read moreactually drove over an hour back there for an appointment. But this time not so much. When I went to look for frames instead of the usual questions what style are you looking for what shape ETC. I was told the cheaper ones are on the left and they get more expensive when you move to the right. After I picked out the frames I sat at the table and was asked" What lens do you want"? Uh I don't know what kind do you have? I said I guess just go with what I already have. When the glasses were ready I went in, I was handed the glasses and a card while I was standing by the door. " Can you read this?" I said yes . I was told Ok good if you have any problems come back. Within a few minutes I realized that my reading area was very small and any movement of my head caused blurriness. I went right back. I was brought to the table by one of the regular staff. I explained my issue. She said that the reading area would be smaller because the new frames were narrower than my old ones plus the new frames have no nose piece and that affects the way they sit. I asked her don't you think that I should have been told to me while I was picking out frames. She replied Yes but she wasn't here and that they do not give refunds. They especially don't if insurance was involved. So bottom line is I paid $500.000 dollars for a pair of glasses that I can use as a spare. I have to wait a year before I can get ones that will work correctly and I need to find a new eye Dr. The Doctor is great her staff is not. Very disappointing.

They took the time to play with my daughter and develop some trust with her before they tried to do anything. It did a lot to set her at ease with them. In addition to the wonderful staff the office and waiting area are really geared toward keeping children occupied and happy. They even have a room with a projector that had interactive games. My daughter loved it in there and I saw older kids that were enjoying it as well. I will definitely be going back there.

I've taken my children here for years. This is the only dentist I have ever brought my three…read morechildren to and over the years it's gotten awful! They hide fees and claim the fees are part of their office procedures, but they do not warn you before they take your children back. They surprise you with a 10 dollar "oral hygiene instruction " fee. They claim they are now a "teaching facility". I simply refused that service...I refused ONLY that service. I told them I do not consent to them teaching my children and giving them "oral hygiene instructions " and they claimed I was refusing treatment for my children. Let me be VERY CLEAR....I WANTED MY CHILDREN TO GET THEIR X RAYS AND CLEANING AND I WAS VERY, VERY CLEAR ON THAT. I 1000 percent wanted my children to STILL be seen for their appointment. 1000 percent! I also asked them to write a letter explaining why we were being dismissed from their office and the letter was NOT accurate at all. I did also explain that "oral hygiene instructions" are NOT mandatory and not LEGALLY mandated and the office lady wrote a letter stating something about legal blah, blah, blah. It's like they thought I was going to sue them for not cleaning my children's teeth . Not looking for money....looking for a normal pediatric dentist that isn't slipping add on fees in visits. It's an expensive world out there and for that dentist to add a fee for "oral hygiene instructions" is complete insanity to me. I'm wondering if even the teenagers get charged for "oral hygiene instructions"? Twice a year we have our children getting taught how to brush their teeth? You've got to be kidding me ‍. They must see at least 20-30 (probably more) patients a day @ 10 dollars per patient for "oral hygiene instructions".....I'll let y'all do that math ‍. But seems to me that entire staff gets paid daily just by the "oral hygiene instructions". This "oral hygiene instruction " charge (code D1330) is used for them to generate easy and low effort revenue. It's meant to be used for individualized, documented instructions and this office is treating it as routine add on because most insurance will still pick up the charge and sometimes insurance won't. D1330 is meant for structured, personalized education, not the generic "brush twice a day" talk that happens during every cleaning. But many offices bill it every six months even when nothing individualized was done. There is no Florida statute or Board of Dentistry rule requiring D1330 at EVERY visit. It is NOT mandatory for cleanings, exams, or fluoride. It is NOT required by insurance. It is NOT required for pediatric patients. Where's the humanity left in this world? Years ago this place was amazing! It's so awful now and clearly we won't be going back....as the office has officially dismissed my children for not being able to give them "oral hygiene instructions". The town use to brag about this place and I hear nothing good anymore. Do better Sebastian Smiles! Do Better! Stop losing patients over 10 dollars! YOU have chosen your "office procedures" to benefit your pocket and not set your "office procedures" to actually be kind and not ripping the world off. Dentist have been talking to children about their teeth for years upon years....what else do y'all talk to the kids about while they are laying in the chair?? TEETH! It only makes sense! And now you charge 10 per kid? I am just completely taken back by this place.
