We've been going to Ocha Thai Kitchen & Bar for a while now, it's our family's go-to Thai spot. We usually do takeout and call in our orders, which is always easy and convenient. Our regular order (sometimes changes): golden noodles with chicken (extra noodles and extra sauce spice level 2), fried spring rolls, and crispy chicken (no spice). Everything is consistently delicious. We order from here about 2-3 times a month, and they've never let us down. Customer service is always friendly and reliable too. Highly recommend! read more

I don't go to Renton often but we were meeting up with my boyfriend's dad as he was in town for a work trip nearby. He's vegetarian so we were debating on what restaurants we could go to that would fulfill our needs but also his. We ended up going with Ocha Thai, which was the perfect option. My boyfriend and I shared a Tum Tard platter while his dad got the Spicy Lemongrass. I also got a Thai Iced Tea to drink. The Tum Tard was good with all the meat and papaya salad eaten with the sticky rice. My boyfriend's dad really enjoyed his food. Consistently good food here. I have mostly had salad and noodle dishes here which have all been quite good. Phad Kaprao is also better than most other Thai restaurants I have been to. I will try Khao Soi next time I eat in the restaurant as it is one of my favorite dishes that I don't think travels well. This place was only Thai place that opened late in the area. The service was little slow at first, but they were Friendly. We ordered kapow over rice. I like that is ground chicken and not slices. Calamari was crispy n tender. Mama fried rice were good, $6 for prawn option. They added several pieces and prawns. The foods are on the sweet side. But overall, food was good. I came on a Friday for lunch and was seated promptly -- it wasn't too busy with a decent amount of tables filled. Service was great, everyone was very nice. I think I'd try this place again, but everything was on the saltier side for me. Red curry lunch -- 7/10. This was a good deal and the red curry itself was good! I don't have much to compare it to, but it had a good amount of meet and veggies. The killer was the pad thai on the side. The pad thai was VERY salty. Loved the tom yum soup, fresh rolls, and the golden noodles that we tried, but felt the ginger garden entree wasn't the best. Service was great and the restaurant is in the older downtown part of Renton, which is filled with tons of locally owned businesses. This place has wonderful lunch specials. You can get almost any of your favorite Thai dishes and you also get a small portion of pad Thai with a serving of rice. The portions are perfect and allows you to have two small lunch portion entrées. The food is always wonderfully flavored and delicious. Staff are always very prompt, quick and professional. They have the best crab fried rice and crab delight ever. They are hands down the best Thai food restaurant I've had in a long time. They have dine in or carry out. We had a few people attending our table, and they were all lovely. We waited quite a long time to have our dinner order taken after we placed our appetizer order. But we weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a huge deal. The food was pretty tasty. I'm a vegan, so my options were a bit limited, but they still had several things for me to choose from. It was a little confusing because some of the items had a symbol saying they could be made vegan, but when I asked about some of the items that didn't have the symbol, she said they could also be made vegan. So I ordered the phad kee mao vegan, but I'm not totally confident that it was vegan friendly. We also got the tofu fresh rolls, but I couldn't have the peanut sauce because they use a curry paste that has shrimp in it. The decor was beautiful and the lighting was perfect. Came here for takeout. It was an okay experience. Wasn't the best. But serviceable for a quick late night bite. There's an entrance in the front but I went to the back. The parking lot in the back was pretty dark as well as the surrounding streets. Its next to a sewing machine service company and a dry cleaner. Kept it simple and got green curry. It didnt wow me. It was creamy though which gave it body but definitely not memorable (and definitely not bad). For $15, I didn't feel like I wasted money on this place. I had it with beef and its for the beef to be overcooked but this one wasn't which was a huge relief. It had hints of basil and a hint of spice even though I ordered 4 out of 5. I would come back again to try the lunch specials and other dishes because I feel like it might be better than a 3 star review. Our party came witbout a reservation on a Saturday evening. It definitely got a bit busy as we ate our dinner but the restaurant is pretty spacious so I don't think you'd wait very long. No complaints about the food as it was pretty good and we haven't heard of a lot of good thai restaurants in the Renton area. However, pad see ew for almost $20? Seems kind of high, even in Renton. My biggest complaint about this place is the slow service, by restaurant standards We must have ordered our food before 6:30 and ended up getting our last dish close to 7:45. I went here for a lunch and it was decently busy but there were plenty of seats. We got the Tom Yum soup with shrimp and the crispy garlic chicken. Food is pretty decent but not really making the mark for the price point. Crispy garlic chicken was $20 and Tom yum soup is $22 due to a $6 surcharge for shrimp which is a bit insane. The crispy garlic chicken is flavorful but did not pack as much flavor as I hoped, yet the chicken was a bit dry and the sauce is a combo of a bit too sweet and salty. It is a bit overrated. The Tom yum soup was really solid - quite tangy and flavorful. The shrimp is actually really fresh (if it wasn't then I'd definitely complain a lot about their surcharge). Service is good as water refills are fairly frequent and they bring the food and fulfill requests in a timely manner. I wouldn't go out of my way from Seattle to drive here again, but I would consider if I happen to be in the area. read more

Khao soi ($19) came with a lot of chicken but was a little too salty for me, crab delight ($16) was one of the better crab delights I've had before (very creamy), crispy garlic chicken ($20) was true to its name and was very crispy even covered in sauce. Prices were a little expensive but portions made up for it. Rice was $2 extra. Cocktail drinks looked great so I'd like to try that next time. Service was not great. It wasn't bad per se, but it felt like the staff just forgot about us. It took a long time to order and when it was time to pay, nobody came for the check so we had to go up front to pay. Nobody checked in on us while we ate either. They were not short staffed. Ambiance was casual and generally clean. There is a door near the women's bathroom that smelled really bad. It's been over four years since I've been in to Ocha Thai and I had the chance to go again recently - happy to report they're still just as delicious as they were in 2020! I was here for a quick lunch meeting on a weekday and it was pretty slow so we had quick and attentive service. The two servers we had were both really nice! The front part of the restaurant is cute and definitely more a lunch time vibe, while the back of the restaurant looks like a space for larger events and parties at night time. I went with Chicken Pad Thai which is my go-to. It was great and was a very generous serving - enough for me to take leftovers home and have another meal. I couldn't remember what their spice levels were like so I went with a 3 star and think that I actually could've gone for a 4. We also started with an order of the Prawn Fresh Rolls which were so good! Loved the flavor of the peanut dipping sauce and the rolls themselves were a good size. Additionally, they were wrapped SO well (didn't fall apart the entire time) and the veggies inside of the roll tasted super fresh. My sister took me here after our family outing to the movies. I'm glad I gave this place a chance again. I ordered here from UberEats before and let me tell you, the experience between ordering out and delivering vs dining in was day and night. When dining in, the service for us was really quick and efficient, food came out hot and plentiful for everyone to share. It was really flavorful, I just hoped that they had more spices for some of us who likes that burn your booty hole kick to our food. They have a nice parking lot that you can park at.
