I've had this place back then many times since pre-pandemic and it was very solid. Sadly that wasn't the case today and my friend and I weren't very fond of the food quality in general. This was during a Saturday evening close to 6pm and I got in to a fine-dining and casual mashup of an interior, where lights hang above the booths. Service here was on point, and food came out within 10 or so minutes of ordering despite the place filling up fast sometime after placing our order. Overall, food quality was just okay. Breaking each one down: - Tom yum: the soup was far more sweet than it was salty or even sour. The balance among all three of these was uneven, and the condiments inside didn't help. - Papaya salad: overall dish didn't taste too fresh and was oddly sour. There wasn't any sort of flavor kick in it and just tasted like regular salad at times. - Thai basil fried rice: the dish oddly didn't come in as hot as the other two. Flavor profile was bland, and rice was dry and a little hard. From previous visits I would recommend their pad see ew, since I don't remember any other dishes I've gotten from here besides that. One of my friends also recommended their duck curry, so I'll give that a try on my next visit here when I can. read more

I have loved Mali Thai restaurant for many years. Recently they raised their prices again. Then the next time I went I noticed that their portions are approximately 2/3 from before. I used to get 3-4 meals from 1 order, now I'm lucky if I get 2 full meals. Also they used to put in a lot of carrots & broccoli in their fried rice. I called them a few minutes before they officially opened, because I was hoping to be able to pick up a to go order on the way to Seatac. I had a tight window, and had to pick up my order not too long after I got there. They had no problem taking my order early, and accommodating our needs. I had to wait only about five minutes when we arrived. (I'd called a different Thai restaurant the night before, and they said they wouldn't start cooking takeout orders until 20 minutes after opening, and then only if the restaurant wasn't busy.) I got a papaya salad, which was very thoughtfully packaged. The cabbage (a HUGE amount!) was packed separately, to help keep it crispy and fresh. The salad was packed full of papaya and tomato wedges, and also included a couple of shrimp, and green bean pieces. Once properly assembled (admittedly, having to tear the cabbage by hand was a bit of a chore), it was very tasty and at least as good as any other Papaya salad I've had recently. Tukwila has a lot of Thai places that don't taste as good as they use to. Although, I'm very impressed how good Mail Thai still is! Got the pad see ew and thai basil fried rice. This was the BEST pad see ew I've ever had. I was so worried the ratio of the noodles would be off with the amount of veggies in it. But no the ratio was perfect. There was sooo much noodles in there and it was extremely flavorful. The meat was chewy and not dry. That's a first. The thai basil fried rice was unique. Just needed a bit more seasoning to it but it was solid. Came around 7pm on a week day and there was rushes but we were able to get a seat right away. Everybody here was very kind! read more

This place is my childhood favorite. It's not the fanciest, but it's a restaurant I keep on coming back to. All my friends have been going here for years too! I highly recommend their crying tiger salad. It has big pieces of steak, on top of a bed of salad with refreshing lime/fish sauce dressing. My personal favorite is the tom kha. The pad thai isn't my favorite as I prefer pad kee mao, but it's all based on preference. Pad thai still tastes good. I can't say I have the best order, but I consistently order the same thing everytime... ALSO the portions are hugeeeeeeeeee!! The service is fine. A lot of young people, but they're great. This place has really solid Americanized Thai food, like comfort food and has won my mom's approval over the years. The good/ recs: - get their tom yum and ask for noodles on the side to put in it. I love the ambiance in this restaurant. It was perfect for a date night with the spouse. The staff was so friendly, accept our waitress. It was odd because the hostess, the guy who filled our water and brought our food were both incredibly nice but our waitress was really curt. My husband enjoyed his dinner (prik kingh), and I got the crispy garlic chicken. The chicken had a nice flavor but was really overcooked and hard to chew. We had pineapple fried rice with chicken, Rad Na with chicken and tom yum talay (the husband is feeling a little congested. I asked for 2.5 -3 for spice. VERY disappointed tonite! No spice - like none. The soup was not the One we've had previously, and it was not helpful for the cold‍ No spice! The noodles were blah! I'm absolutely appalled by the Thai food here... I was exhausted after work and just wanted a decent meal. That's it. I quickly reviewed multiple Thai spots and it was between Mail Thai and Bai Tong. Mali was on route back to the Eastside so I chose them. Even though it was a to go, the service was good, but once I went to relax and eat, I was extremely disappointed with the food quality. The fried rolls were hot, but tasted bland and like they've been frozen for awhile and the dipping sauce was sweeter than usual...but it's an appetizer, that's not what ruined my dinner. It was the Pad Thai... mind you I've been eating Thai food for 15+ years across the world and I've had authentic premium Thai all the way to sub par...this was the worst. The Pad thai looked good at first glance, but it was sweet/syrupy - two words I've never associated with pad thai. Was not savory at ALL. Never in my life have I wanted to drive back and ask for my money back. This is NOT authentic Thai (at least the 2 items I ordered were not) and I would not recommend this place to anyone that appreciates the classic taste of simple Thai dishes. We were recommended this place by a friend and it was pretty good! We were greeted right away, and seated right away. The service was pretty good but the food came out so quick! All the food probably came out in less this 10 minutes. We got the Mali combination, the pad see ew, basil crispy chicken, and the crab fried rice. The portions were huge, obviously it's probably for a bigger party but our big backs wanted to big back. The crab fried rice was our favorite, tasted perfect. The basil crispy chicken at some points tasted doughy and less crispy but the flavor is there. Everything else was pretty good! I would come back here for the fried rice for sure! Delicious Thai food in Tukwila (located in the same mall strip as Lam's Seafood and Ulta). It's kind of a small restaurant but there's still lots of tables available. They don't take reservations and say it's first come first serve. We visited Saturday evening around 6PM and it wasn't too busy until after we sat down. The customer service is a lot better than our previous experience. They're very attentive and quick. I think we got most of our food within 10-15 min after ordering. They also refilled my water like 4X before I asked. Everything was reasonably priced, well portioned, and tasted great! The pad Thai with chicken was more saucy than usual but still really good flavoring. The pad kee mao with pork came with lots of vegetables and meat. I really liked the subtle sweet tamarind flavors of both noodle dishes. Tom Kha with pork in a bowl was huge! A little more on the sour side but still rich and creamy coconut flavoring. Salmon curry was in a smaller bowl. I thought it was a little spicy (we ordered mild spice for all dishes) but still great Panang curry and came with big salmon pieces. The mango fish salad was excellent. Everyone loved the sauce! The fish was really crispy and complimented well with the sweet mango and veggies. The pineapple fried rice with tofu was also delicious and had a rich pineapple and curry flavoring! The only dish I didn't really like were the garlic buffalo wings. It came with about 6 wings/ drumsticks and didn't have any flavor unless you dipped it in the sweet chili sauce. I was expecting garlic buffalo seasoning... it really was just plain fried chicken and dipping sauce. It's been awhile since I've been here but I decided it's time to update my review. Service has always been really good for me and the last time I called to order take out. The man that answered was soooo friendly and professional. Very distinct voice, he was very welcoming. I ordered beef kee mao and chicken satay after my tattoo appointment since I was starving. The pad kee mao was flavorful but could have been a tad saltier for me. I ordered the spiciest choice I could but it still wasn't enough. Luckily I was home so I added fresh chilies and chili oil. Still the same great taste I remembered several years ago and that says a lot for the consistency of this place. Will probably order from again in the near future. This was not our first time here, but we have been to this restaurant when it was under a different owner and more recently after a new owner took over. Personally, since I haven't frequent this place enough to compare the difference in ownership, I can't pinpoint any differences. Our experience here was good. It was not busy when we came in at around 3PM-ish (probably since that's in between normal meal times). We received our food in a reasonable timeframe from when we made the order to when we were served. Did not have any problems with the staff. This has been my go-to place for Thai food for about a decade now. My mom loves this place for their mango fish salad. We just went here today and the food was good as always! Nothing has been bad here, but there are dishes that are just ok. The pad see ew was great, but the trout (pla lard prik) was ok. The fish was good, but I felt like it was drowning in the sauce so the crispiness of the fish didn't really last. Their service is good though! They seated us right away and checked in on us frequently. This is a good quality place in Tukwila in the midst of all the mediocre restaurants as well as all the fast food places that plague this city. read more
