There were a few reasons we chose to switch eye doctors and I'm so glad we did! First off, Oconee…read moreVision Group accepts VSP Insurance and the benefits are Awesome! When I was looking for providers with my Insurance, they came highly recommended and were close to home. The Doctor we saw that day was Dr. Hackleman. He was wonderful. He took his time to go over everything, especially since I was having so much trouble with my current contacts. Upon checking my prescription, it was discovered I had a significant change in one eye that was the culprit of my fuzzy/blurred vision. He offered me several options depending on what my budget would allow for. My other half had his eyes fully examined as well....only to discover he still had perfect 20/15 vision and only I was the one that couldn't see. Kim was extremely professional as she dilated my eyes and performed a few tests. She lightened the mood relaying to me how my hubby did not care for things near or dropped in his eyes....I laughed thinking about him trying to get away from the drops. After it was determined I needed to update my contacts and glasses, Ryan helped us pick some sunglasses out and a set of frames for me. We never felt rushed even though I changed my mind 4 times. It was a very pleasant experience compared to what I have dealt with at my previous eye Doctor. Oconee Vision Group has Clients for Life!

Lately we've experienced more of the latter and, as a result, will try a different provider next year. Eye exams have always been patient, thorough, and accurate. Last year, the Doctor became mildly irritated with my wife raising concerns about a box of problematic contacts affecting our daughter, as if the issue did not exist. We decided it may be a fluke and came back this year. This year, my son and I have had several problems with eyeglasses we ordered. I asked for Trivex and the best anti-reflective coat available, but we received polycarbonate, Cristal Rock AR on mine, and Cristal Easy Pro AR on my son's. However, my son's lenses have a blue hue in the reflection and Easy Pro should look green (see pic). Additionally, my invoice listed DuraVision Platinum, which would have a blue hue and green is clearly visible in the picture. We did not receive certificates of authenticity for Transitions or Crizal, which both companies say should've been included. It took just over 3 weeks to receive my glasses. Our insurance was blamed, but I would have gladly paid full price and filed a claim directly with them. Instead, no updates were provided and, once I inquired 10 days later, they ordered them after seemingly forgetting. I asked at that time to cancel my order, but they refused. Since receiving the incorrect lenses, I asked to have them replaced, but they again refused.

I took my broken glasses in to see if they could repair - even though I was not a client. Jenny was super kind and helpful and got me sorted out. This happened on a Friday lunch time. At my exam on May 8, I asked whether my prescription had changed and was told it had not. Based on that, I purchased a one-year supply of contact lenses without being given trial lenses. Within days, I experienced persistent migraines and blurred vision in my left eye. After returning on June 15, I was told my left-eye prescription was incorrect and it was adjusted. This confirmed the original lenses I was sold were not correct. I also had to repeatedly follow up to get updates and resolution, and communication throughout the process was inconsistent. When I asked about a refund or replacement for the incorrect lenses, the response was unclear and the issue remains unresolved. Overall, I did not feel the care, accuracy, or follow-through met the standard expected from a vision provider, especially when prescribing and selling a full year of contact lenses.

By far, this gentleman is the…read morebest, could not ask for anything more, a true professional and a master at eye surgery and his craft. However, everything billing-related has made this experience the absolute worst experience. This may come off harsh, but the fact is Milan Eye Center is incompetent when it comes to billing, and they refuse to take any responsibility. They hire a 3rd party billing company overseas, so every time you call their office to discuss anything "billing-related," you are automatically transferred to their overseas contracted billing partner. Why in the world would you hire such an incompetent company to handle all your billing? This is a multimillion-dollar eyecare practice. We knew this surgery would happen, and switched insurance plans as the new plan had a specific flat in-network $1,000 copay for each eye for Cataract Surgery. The total surgery should have cost $2,000, plus the additional co-payments for other doctor visits/eval pre- and post-surgery. Guess what? Milan Eye Center never billed UHC. At the last moment, we were forced into taking out a $5,000 loan from CareCredit to pay for the Cataract Surgery. To make matters worse, after the surgery, Milan Eye Center billing third party started sending bills for $3,900 for the same surgery. ; First of all. Milan Eye Center will NOT perform any surgery until the costs are all paid off in full, meaning you cannot enter the surgery room, hence why we had to take out the $5,000 loan. So a surgery that should have cost $2,000 with insurance ended up costing $5,000 + now they want another $3,900. Cataract Surgery is not $8,900, including insurance; the total to them should be $10,900? After the surgery, we spoke with the insurance. Milan Eye Center never filed it through them, even though they are in-network. After a year, we finally paid off the $5,000 loan we should have never had to taken out... and now they still want $3,900... As someone who has worked in healthcare, what this practice is doing is unethical and illegal. [Review 742] - 15th Review of 2025
