Just like an airline, they can leave you behind or allocate your seat to a standby traveler. Similar comment applies to rest stops - be sure to be back on time, or stay on the bus. They run a pretty tight schedule. And if they waited for one or two stragglers, they would inconvenience 50+ other riders. Keep in mind, their double-decker buses don't have overhead storage. So any bags you bring on board, are going to be by your feet for the duration of the trip. Leg room is fairly tight. Seats have decent lumbar support - I've been able to sleep for a few hours on overnight busses. You do run some risk of delays / cancellation. And since they operate off the street, they often don't have customer service reps to assist in person. They don't have a lot of contingencies available, unless you're on a route with frequent service. The trips I've taken, they've been pretty punctual. And their drivers are pretty good about making sure people don't hog two seats when the bus is full. So you get what you pay for.

You have to walk outside to see the screen that shows you train times and track number, but of course, that is after you've meandered around the actual station looking for information. Obviously this is a heavily traveled line (for both Metrolink and Amtrak), so you would think that there would at least be someONE there to assist travelers. Truly, it looks deserted when you enter, almost as if you've stepped back in time to see what an old train station looks like. They were late to the original pick up time!! (It worked out that we could send 1 bus later.) This was a performance-based trip so we almost missed our performance. 3. One of the buses just left while we were there, we still had another stop to get to but they "had to do their routes." This caused a group of students and a parent to get stranded in the hot sun for about 2 hours. Parents and principals complained. 4. Because of the bus leaving, we had to cram 130 people on 2 buses to get to our last stop, including having to send a group of chaperones in an uber because they couldn't fit on the buses. 5. Again because of double booking, even though the drivers were kind to us, they were frustrated because they were late to their routes. I have never had a bus company be so hard on times, and not flexible at all when things were running behind.

Return is from 3:15pm to around 8pm if there's no traffic. These include a 20 minute stop halfway in Barstow Station. It's cheaper than a flight I get to avoid aiport TSA hassle. Pros: - Comfy seats and always a nice clean bus - Free drinks and snacks form tour guide person, often an old russian lady who likes to tell jokes that are hit-and-miss. - Free checked bag service where the bus driver can store roller bags in the under-bus compartment (although I just carry my small duffel bag onboard and tuck it under the seat) - Two free movies on overhead screens - Now there is assigned seating so no more needing to rush to get in line early to grab preferred seats. Cons: - No longer provided free earbuds to watch the movies. Bring your own standard jack earbuds or else they charge $3 to buy one. - On one trip back from LV the bus broke down, but they got another bus out for us in less than 30 minutes to continue our trip. - The free Wifi can get spotty at remote locations in the dessert, probably not good enough for continuous video streaming.
