A great little dive shop. My wife and I combined a group dive with our mini vacation to Port Townsend. We stopped in to ask about other dive locations. The staff were extremely helpful in educating us on dive sites in the area. The enthusiasm for diving and knowledgeable staff make for a great experience. Buyer beware: This company is scamming me for over $800 for services that I cannot use. There's no clear refund policy when you make a purchase. Nor in the email receipt they send. But in small writing at the bottom of an invoice attachment that says no refunds after they've already taken payment.. It wasn't until less than two days before the scheduled course that I was informed that there was online curriculum that needed to be completed. Several weeks before I was given a user name with no instruction other than that, otherwise, I would've worked on it sooner. As I was working through the curriculum, that's when I discovered that not only was it going to be impossible to complete before the dive but I would not be medically cleared to dive. Their only advice to me is that I could give the course away to somebody. I tried to explain that I have no means to give somebody an $800 scuba diving course nor do I know anyone who would want the course and please not steal my money from me. To which I got no response. It's really sad that this situation will have to come down to litigation since it's medical and I'm getting no response to have it resolved for them just to do the right thing. The last I heard from them was their response on my Google review, digging their heals in that they are keeping my money, and citing an unfair refund policy. read more

Don Peterson is the only person I'll let touch our dive gear for service. We live in Salem, OR, and when it's time for the yearly maintenance, we box 'em up and send them to Port Townsend so Don can do his thing. Why? Because he does a thorough and complete job on anything you send him. (I've seen shops -- shops I trusted -- do service in such a way that the quality isn't dependable, the service isn't appropriate... or just isn't done, period. Seriously.) And word is whatever you've got, he'll know what to do with it. While in the industry, my husband found Don's skills through word of mouth, and some people we looked up to swore they'd never let anyone but Don touch their gear. After some time in the industry and community, Scot and I have come to agree! He's quick, he's thorough, and I like that he keeps all parts replaced, puts them all in a baggie and sends them back so you can SEE what was done. (Yeah, that secondary that was jammed into the sand during a punishing beach exit... I could tell what parts came from that one!) We sent away two first stage, five 2nd stage (including Air2s) and a beat up old backup computer. Everything came back looking better than when it left, and is ready to hit the water. As everything was shipped, it was very well packaged, and arrived safety. And who couldn't love a little tube of Smarties, which he always includes! Dive SMART! :) Price is very reasonable. We were out of synch w/ our ScubaPro warrantied items so we had to pay for the kits. Our bad -- I have no problem paying good money for good service on the equipment that keeps us alive 100+ feet underwater! read more

I visit the Port Townsend area 1-3 weekends per season, and this PADI-affiliated dive shop has been a great resource for air fills, accessories and information whenever I'm in the vicinity. I've not taken classes through this shop but the service is excellent, and I've appreciated the assistance they've given me. read more

Don knows his stuff! Friendly staff and an all around , real dive shop.

I went diving on March 5th, 2019. We did 2 dives. I never dove with my new 7 mm wet suit, and it kept me warm. I saw sea life that I never saw before diving. The visibility was good. I had a blast. I flew all the way from South Carolina just to do these dives and it was well worth the trip. They are very professional. I needed more cold weather diving experience since the only cold weather dives I did were Alaska, and Victoria, BC Canada and Seattle Scuba School. I had promised Octopus Gardens that I would dive with them some day and I saw a window of opportunity and took it. I'm glad I did. We saw a sea lion lurking where we were going to be diving but it took off before we entered the water. I also tested out my new GoPro. Towards the end of our 2nd dive, we saw a large school of fish. There's a lot of sea life down there. I told some of my friends around the world that I just dove here and they are adding it to their list of places of dive. read more

This is a great dive shop. The guys that work here were wonderful. Don spent a lot of time with us just telling us about everything going on here in Port Townsend. This is a fantastic dive shop in Port Townsend. My boyfriend and I visited this place in July while we were doing some diving around the OP. We dealt with Jesse, who was so incredibly helpful when it came to answering our questions about local dive spot recommendations. He also loaned us some tools we needed to change our computer batteries and was very accommodating when it came to our tank returns. Overall, a very nice guy who made our trip that much easier. We'll be back because we didn't get to hit all the spots we were hoping for, and the ones we did dive didn't have the best conditions. When we do we will absolutely stop by Octopus Gardens for our diving supplies. Highly recommend this place for the awesome service! read more
