July 4th me and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights and I needed a towel so I saw a housekeeper in the hallway and knocked on the door where they are working and it was slightly open to my surprise I saw 2 of them kissing and making out in their room...this scene is kind of odd to housekeepers making out in an empty room I don't know what kind of hotel this is but it wasn't appropriate to do that I'm not homophobe but this is a place where they work!!! to be exact she is huge girl and the other is short and has a red hair hope nobody else gets a surprised like I got! something should be done to fix this coz it's disgusting my daughter saw it too!!! read more

We stayed here for one night since every hotel in the area was booked. The hotel was large, clean and the employees were friendly. The room was clean but the walls are paper thin. All night long we could hear the conversations of people next door and in the hallway. We had to turn on the AC so that the sound of the fan would drown out the noise. The shower was pretty crappy and I have a pet peeve about hotel bathrooms that dont have a fan....now I have to wait 20 mins for the mirror to defog. Our stay included $10 casino play each and $5 food credit for the casino. Sadly, we didnt end up using either because we had business to attend to in town. Breakfast was included in the morning. It was nothing fancy, standard hotel fare of scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal and toast. The coffee claimed to be Starbucks but I assure you, it was not...it was pretty bad. read more

Hotel is NOT connected to the casino. They don't make that very clear when you are booking on the casino website. The people who work there are wonderful, especially the woman that hands out the continental breakfast. She is super happy and friendly. The room was clean, but smelled of old cigarettes. The repair work that had been done in the bathroom and around the window was pitiful. No pride was taken in the work. This was the type of thing you expect at a $79/night hotel not a $210/night hotel. To top it off they was no hot water in the morning. I told the front desk and they were very nice about it but didn't offer anything in return, like access to a room that did have hot water so we could at least shower. read more

Clean, practical and got the job done. Beds are fine, pillows meh (glad I pack my own), they were a bit tough/hard. This hotel really touts the casino (not attached), but we were only there for the reasonable room rate and a bed. Breakfast was meh, basically a good no frills option. read more

So disappointing. We drove all the way here from The Detroit Metro area and we got a room that smelled so bad from cigarettes. We dont smoke. I called to see if we can switch rooms but they cant switch us because the capacity. Very sad and disappointed because of the long drive. Will never stay here agin. read more

Room is nice and clean, hotel is nice. But totally disappointed by "room with a bay view" advertisement that we paid for. Especially disappointed that when I called down to the front desk after our first room disappointment, they said they could accommodate our request if I move from a king room to a double bed for the wife and I. We said sure and even told them it doesn't need to be a smoking room just give us the view we paid for, they only moved us 20 rooms down on the same 3rd floor. So we go from a room looking at the roof of the hotel next door to looking at the street. There is no water in site. We said screw it let's go gamble but never come here again. First pic gives u an ideal of our first room in 313. And the second is the room they can accommodate us with in 331. The shuttle said they pick up from other hotels to take to the casino. I suggest looking into one before staying here. read more

Enjoyed the amenities. The pool, hot tub, business center, and breakfast were both convenient & more than adequate. We didn't use the shuttle for the Casino but it was readily available almost every time we walked outside. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I thought we were getting 2 queens but I discovered it was really 2 double beds (fulls). (I must have misread the booking). A little snugger than I like, but acceptable. I slept like a log without interruption (doesn't happen often) and I didn't wake with aching back or joints, so they must have been comfortable. Breakfast had more food options than expected. It was an excellent continental breakfast. The fireplace and comfy lounge chairs were icing on the cake. Yogurt, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs (not rubbery nor slimy), bacon one day, sausage the next; mini pancakes one day, French toast the next; potatoes one day, corned beef hash the next. Cinnamon rolls (a bit dry), cereal, mini muffins/pastries, oatmeal, toast, bagels, English muffins, with condiments (syrup, butter, jam, cream cheese, etc). I'm missing something, but good assortment. Juices, water, tea, and coffee was available. Our room was low on toilet paper; it wasn't replenished during housekeeping service. We requested some by calling the front desk & it was sent up within 2-3 minutes. Prompt. Shows they prioritize service and value your time. We reserved a room for 4 occupants. 2 adults, 2 children. Only 3 towels were stocked. The towels were my biggest turn-off. Effective for drying but rough on the skin. I couldn't tell if they were off-white & oddly colored or dingy. I'd heir more on the dingy side. Not dirty, but discolored over a significant amount of time perhaps, or they don't use bleach to launder. I noticed the towels and bedskirt (maybe just ours-fraying & tears at the bed corners) were the 2 things that may be dated, but everything else was excellent. Temperature was comfortable and when it cooled, the heater was efficient and fairly quiet. I didn't notice excessive noise through the walls, floor, or door so those too were adequate. The pool & business center required your room key card to access. Then fireplace was a nice touch. It offered a place to relax and provided serenity. Overall Odawa was an exceptional facility. Checkin was effortless. Fast. Checkout even faster. Free wifi. Free parking. A beautiful hotel with a focus on excellent service. The location for us couldn't have been more convenient. Near Petoskey and a short drive to Boyne. Will absolutely book again. read more

Room, supposedly all non-smoking, reeked of cigarettes. This hotel is not even connected to the main casino- just the previous guest smoking in said room. When we asked for switch, front desk says non available even though their website states available rooms (hint: hotel tonight $229, hotel website $169, orbitz $151 ). They sent someone who tried to freshen room with some fabreeze but that didn't do much as all the smell is throughly seeped into every fiber- I have a feeling they do give these rooms to people who want smoking rooms even though they say their hotel is smoke-free. The hotel restaurant (Niibiish) is not so good either. Pizza sauce was crazy salty (as in accidentally spilled a quart of salt by accident salty) and inedible, buffalo wings were ok. They are in no hurry nor feel obligation to do more for guest- I suppose these things happen all the time in this casino hotel hence my apprehension to stay in one (outside of Vegas). If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, do NOT stay at this hotel. read more

I was directed to a vending machine with said item only to find out that there aren't any health and beauty products available in the machines as well. Don't forget your toiletries. We booked two nights at this hotel because everything else in town was booked and we were a bit disappointed with the overall quality of the room for the price. The beds and pillows were nothing fancy and the non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes. The bathroom toilet seat was visibly dirty and I actually washed it myself before using it. The base of the bathroom door was damaged and there were other smaller aesthetic issues throughout the room as well. The mini fridge in the room was a plus as not all hotels have those. It came in handy for us to store our dinner leftovers from the first night of our trip. The customer service here was also great from the front desk attendants to the gentleman serving breakfast (I.e. apples, yogurt, bars, juice, coffee, etc.) . They offer a free shuttle (tips appreciated) to and from the casino as they are not connected, and have a pool/hot tub area that we did not check out during our stay. After our first night we received a coupon for $10 free slot play and $5 off at one of the casino restaurants but we don't think they were added to our cards properly as we couldn't figure out how to redeem them when we put our cards in the machine. We didn't receive additional coupons after our second night. As much as I want to give this hotel more stars for the customer service, I just don't think it was worth the ~$500 price tag for two nights. read more

Avoid at all costs! This hotel is dirty....stinks of marijuana, and is outdated and overpriced. In addition, while the casino is crawling with security the hotel...not so much. We woke up to people yelling in the hallway...people banging on our door....and front desk staff that were rude! This place is terrible!!!!!!!! read more

We got the suite and I was very please with the size of it and the cleanliness. It had a nice little bar area, Big TV and as I mentioned the room is very spacious. Pool area is pretty nice the Jacuzzi is nice. My only complaint so the pillows, Not very comfortable. BYOP. Also the tiles in the pool and Jacuzzi area need to be cleaned. Side from those two things I really did like the Hotel. It's a great value considering what you pay. Downtown Petoskey is just a few minutes away If you're driving. I would stay here again but I'll bring my own pillows next time. read more

Do not be fooled. When you walk into the lobby, the hotel appears updated. The rooms however, are not. Both times we went to the front desk, no one was there. When you yell "hello" between the plastic partition, a worker will appear. The staff is friendly. But seemed preoccupied sitting in the office. In the room, the tv is hanging on a large tv stand. This has caused them to have to pull the dresser out several inches. So room is not handicap friendly. It's in need of a deep clean. All the mirrors have thick dust around the frames. The bathroom is very small. There is no fan in the bathroom. The shower is just an old shower head with no adjustability and the water pressure sucks. Our neighboring room seems to have been busted in to, which just added to the charm of the hotel I suppose. We did use the transport to and from the casino. The drivers were kind and quick. The casino is very tiny and not on the same property as the hotel. We only chose this hotel because everything else in the area was booked. It was definitely not worth the $229 we paid. The hotel is NOT located with the casino. It's actually a few miles away. The hotel provides a free convenient shuttle that will take you back and forth. When you arrive at the hotel, the hotel desk was difficult to find. The lobby has an old world feel which is strange because it doesn't match the rest of the hotel. The front desk clerk was fine but gruff. She lacked finesse. Everything after the lobby is plain and inexpensive looking. The hotel rooms are fine. They are moderately priced and average size. The hotel has no restaurant, which means I had to travel to the casino to eat. I stay at a lot of casinos in this state. This is one of my least favorite. It needs updating and amenities stat. read more

Stayed one night, clean room, comfortable bed, starting to show a little wear. Patio screen had holes in it. Complimentary breakfast bar mediocre could have a better selection. Only fruit were whole apples, only eggs were mini microwaved omlettes. Free shuttle to casino is great. read more

We went to this hotel for 2 days for my wife's birthday as for the hotel we got there at 2:30 and checked in but they couldn't give us a room yet so we went to their casino and slots were really tight and we couldn't get anyone to wait on us on casino floor!! When I finally got ahold of someone to wait on us the drinks were watered down and very weak! We go back to hotel and line to check in is long and we have already checked in and just need Are room but had to wait. We were told when we paid we were getting 4 floor up grade what we got was 2 floor and it was a handy cap room dark and gloomy it was very out dated and walls were paper thin not a 180$ room at all!!! Then at 4am the fire alarm goes off Was supposed to be a nice 2days but it wasn't. We have stayed at a lot of casino hotels and been to a lot of casinos and this one I feel is not worth the money or time. I could suggest a much better option!! No problem with my business stay until I started to take the shower. Turned on the water but had a hard time turning in the shower head. Finally figured out that you had to pull a ring that was part of the faucet toward me. So I did and, nothing. No water coming out of the shower head while the water is pooling around my ankles (not very good drainage either). Long story short, finally got out of the shower and cleaned up by the sink with a wash cloth. I call the front desk to make sure how to turn on the shower head. When the woman confirmed what I was doing was correct, I told her I did the exact same thing with no results and I'd like them to consider taking something off the room price. Her answer, "Can't do that, the shower works. You have to let it go for a couple of minutes." I said ok and then turned on the video on my camera, turned on the water, pulled the ring and waited for 2 1/2 minutes while the water ran from the main faucet. So instead of taking, let's say 10% off the room rate, a whopping $16, you now have an unhappy customer who will never stay at your hotel again or spend a dime at your casino and you get a bad review. Mistakes happen, but it the situation could have, should have, been addressed in a better way. read more
