I've been playing and dining at the Odawa Casino since it has been opened. I have to commend the great staff of housekeeping they're FANTASTIC the only real disappointment I've had there was the ribs at the Room 94, the past 5 times I've ordered ribs they come out like almost eating Jerry. I've made several suggestions to the staff there and the Jerky Ribs are still in existence and will never order them again. read more

I was extremely disrespected at this hotel, 4 stars hotel, Not! I will never patronize this hotel or spend one single cent at their hotel or casino ever again. I was extremely discussed with their so called policies and lack of respect!!! They don't even deserve any recognition! Not even 1 star. I have never been that disrespected in my entire life!!! They didn't care at all. They acted like I was the bad guy! A big "F" you! I did leave a tip for the housekeeping staff. Totally done with the hotel and casino!!! I hate this place! read more

I'm not a gambler but my friend had the itch to lose some money so I brought him here upon request. All I know is that are a ton of slot machines and none of them hit for me. The center bar was a comfortable place to hang out while my buddy was playing Roulette and the bartender offered a great drink suggestion to my girl....Ginger ale and Ginger vodka on the rocks. It was really good but I'm not quite sure where to find Ginger vodka. Anyways, the casino seemed on the smaller side as might be indicative of Northern Michigan casinos but it was maintained and clean and my friends said it was one of the nicer in the area. read more

The room was only OK. I was glad that the Champagne, Roses and Chocolates I ordered were in the room when I got there, the room was decorated nice enough. The reason it didn't get more stars are as follows. 1) It is not attached to the Casino, I admit it was my fault for believing that it was going to be attache to the Casino. But in part on the website, it isn't overly evident that there are two addresses, so we drove to the Casino only to be redirected back to town. 2) The cold water sink handle was broken, making it hard to turn on and off the cold water in the bathroom sink. The handle was not properly secured to the rest of the faucet assembly. We didn't realize this until we were about to head to dinner. 3) The refrigerator has a tray, that tray collects water from the defrost of the coils (or something), the tray was full, there was brownish water on the floor, I stepped in the water (barefoot). I found this out early, so called down and had them send up maintenance. He proceeded to empty the tray, clean up the water and such, still was nasty, smelled bad. 4) The hotel didn't have a gym. Again, my fault for not reading this on their site, but seriously a 'Casino Resort' without a gym. Oh well, live and learn. I would say that if you're big into gambling you can take the shuttle the casino up until like 3am. read more

Visting Petosky for a friends wedding in Harbor Springs. Ensue frosty front desk reception, to the extreme. Further regrets upon entering the room. There were broken chips on the floor and I don't mean casino chips, hairs from the nether region haunted the bathroom, unwanted reminders from previous guests. Ew. Ew. Ew. Was this room cleaned?The room had a water feature, a cascade of water spilled out onto the floor when Mr L opened the fridge. The large puddle never dried, although Mr L helped mop it up with his socks when accidentally stepping in it, hate that. Passed time by joining the ranks of the other losers in the casino. Don't waste your breath complaining, they don't care. They will only pretend they care when you goose egg them on Trip Adisor when they invite you to call the manager (again) and promptly ignore as in previous attempts. Not very clean. The desk lamp had a 1/4" of dust on it; the upholstered swivel chair was caked with dust/dirt around the cushion. I did my usual bedbug check; didn't find any but you wouldn't want to look under/behind the bed - it was GROSS. The staff were not friendly. We got coupons to gamble eat. The buffet (self-serve) restaurant was a waste of time. Food was mediocre, at best. After waving our arms for 5 minutes to attract the attention of a 'waitress', my wife ordered a glass of wine, I ordered a beer. There were about 3 choices of wine and about the same for the beer. Nothing on tap, no craft beers, just crud like Bud Lite. Couldn't believe it when the 'waitress' showed up some time later with one of those little airline bottles of wine (yes, the ones with the screw-on caps) and NO glasses. Naturally we had to ask for glasses - which seemed to surprise the 'waitress' and took another 5 minutes for her to bring. I had to be in Petoskey for business and stayed here because we got a good rate. I don't gamble and don't have a reason to return and certainly cannot recommend this place. Not sure why this casino has bad/mediocre ratings. They have every variation of slots you could imagine and a variety of table games that weren't overcrowded the whole weekend. Our hotel gave us vouchers for $5 free slots and $5 off restaurants in the casino every day we were here. Check with your hotel if they offer similar perks. The food at the buffet is 10/10. Everyone we interacted with at the casino was extremely nice and helpful. read more

We frequently take the drive up north to spend a night or two at the hotel, and hopefully have fun gambling at the casino. The shuttle service they provide is very nice. It runs frequently, and we were informed at the front desk of the times. Approximately every 20 minutes until 3a.m. We have often utilized this service so we can enjoy some adult beverages. The drivers have always been very nice. We have not encountered bad service at the hotel. Actually quite the opposite. However I will agree with the mediocre continental breakfast. The person who fills the hot food doesn't seem to understand that an empty tin needs to be refilled. So there is much room for improvement there. And a smile would help in the morning vs the face of someone who doesn't like their job. We are going up there tmrw, and looking forward to it. Sad that others have had such bad experiences. Love the casino! Small, but so! It is clean and machines are not all on top of each other. Enjoy it there and have come out on the plus side many times. The O bar has entertainment and is very unique in the way it is designed. I would say stopping in there is a must! The best prime rib sandwich w cheese n mushrooms n peppers with a steamed bun at the sandwich cafe in the front of the casino is my go to. All in all......I look forward to each time we head to Petoskey for the Odawa experience. read more

I've gone to the Odawa several times and I have never been disappointed. The Odawa has everything you need for a great weekend. First of all the hotel is freshly renovated and is very nice. The beds are very cozy and comfortable. The rooms are clean and well maintained. They have a great pool and hot tub for family fun. The staff are professional and very accommodating. On this trip I noticed a plug was loose and told the staff on my way out for the day. When I returned, the plug was fixed. They also have a nice continental breakfast. When you stay at the hotel, you get $25 in casino comps. This includes $10 in slot play, $5 in black jack match play, and a $10 food credit. This is PER DAY. So you get a new package every day you stay. If two people are going, you essentially get back $50 per day. So when the room costs $79, its like paying $29 for the room. This is the best deal I have found for a casino resort. I've tried all the food options. For 5 star dining, they have The Sage. I had the Filet I have ever had. My friend had the rack of lamb and it was awesome. The wine list is very big and there is a selection for everyone and any budget. The buffet is also great. When you use your players club and the $10 comp, you can get dinner as low as $7.99. On Saturday, they had prime rib, shrimp, ham, fish, pasta, you name it, they had it. Desserts are also second to none. You will never find another buffet that has this great quality and price ANYWHERE. I've had the breakfast buffet as well and it is great also. The snack bar is also great. They have fresh sandwiches and a grill. I've tried both of them and again, I am awed by the food. It is top quality food. You can easily get a great sandwich, chips, and a pop for your $10 food voucher. The Ozone night club is also great. Admittedly, the music is not my favorite (mostly Hip Hop), but the club is packed on weekend nights. There is not another nightclub like this within 150 miles. It is really top notch! The drinks are good and priced right ($3.50 for a 16oz aluminum tall bottle of Bud Light). So, if you are looking for a weekend getaway that is affordable and tons of fun, check out the Odawa. You won't be disappointed! read more

I, like others, thought the hotel was attached to the casino. Don't go there, as you will be met by a smiling member of the casino staff who will give you directions to the hotel, lol. The best thing about staying at Odawa was the price, for me. I was able to get a suite for less than almost all other hotels in the area charged for a regular room. My check-in process went very smoothly. In fact, I booked a non-smoking suite because that is all the website says is available, but when I inquired about places to smoke onsite, I was informed there is in fact one smoking suite. We were given that room, even though the clerk had already set us up in a different room. The smoking suite is different from the suite pictured on the website. It is one room basically separated by a couch. It has a nice wet bar area with a refrigerator, and a decent bathroom. There was no light switch by the door, and it took a minute to figure out how to light up the place. Once I could see, I noticed that the room is pleasantly furnished and decorated. I have been in cleaner rooms, and even noticed a chip just under the couch, but that being said, I did not feel uncomfortable. The bedding seemed very clean as did the bathroom. If you like watching TV in bed, you may not like this room. The TV, while large, is on the wall on the other side of the couch. I did not watch TV while in bed, so I cannot say with certainty how inconvenient it is. This room is on the third floor of a 5 story hotel. Decided to spend another night, and was informed we would have to go to another suite as that one had already been booked for the night. No problem, and we were able to move in right away. Was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this 5th floor room. It was in the layout as pictured on the website, and was a very nice space. This one included a light switch on the wall, a bigger bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, and two nice sized rooms with a TV in each. The trade-off, if this is important, was the wet bar was smaller. This room seemed to have been taken care of a little better, maybe a little cleaner. At times the front desk was understaffed and I had to wait a few minutes to request the shuttle, or ask a question, but was always met with a smile, and all my needs were taken care of. The clerk was even very patient and friendly with a person in front of me who was being a little nasty about a problem with redeeming gambling points. That problem was taken care of, by the way. All the other staff I dealt with was extremely helpful and friendly as well. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Petoskey. You will not find a 5 star hotel in Petoskey, and this certainly is not one. That said, I had a great stay and the price was definitely right. read more

The very worst possible customer service nightmare from start to finish. Had a significant billing error. Hotel staff were rude, unapologetic and actually threw my bill down when I asked to speak to Assistant Manager. Issue still not resolved. Initially, the Manager called me back and was apologetic and very nice however when the following day my account still didn't reflect the credits he argued with me, was rude, cut me short, sighed and provided me with terrible customer service. I now see why his staff treated me the way they did....employees are only as good as the leader. I would recommend NEVER to stay there. Actually, I will never set foot in the casino or resort. We stayed at the Odawa hotel and found it very clean. The housekeeping staff was excellent, accommodating and friendly. It took a minute to find the check in desk, then the staff there seemed so bored they couldn't even speak up for us to hear after repeated attempts. They never told us a thing about the shuttle, where the room was, nothing. We had to ask every step of the way. The casino was nice, and we came out ahead, so no complaints. read more

Very bad experience beginning with not being told the casino and hotel are not attached to the room being dusty and unclean. We were told it is the slow season. Seriously pubic hair and other long hair in the bathroom means you are not cleaning. The internet did not work very well and we were in a suite. A suite that accommodates 4 and we had 4 in our reservations but had 3 towels. Really? Will never return here. read more
