This was a bit of a mixed experience, so I'm settling on 2 stars. The pub has a cozy, hole-in-the-wall feel with a separate dining room and game room, making it seem like a fun neighborhood spot. The service was also a highlight--our food came out quickly, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food just didn't meet expectations. The cheese fries sounded promising because the fries themselves were crispy and well-seasoned, but the cheese topping had an unpleasant flavor that completely overwhelmed the dish. The wings were another disappointment since they arrived without any sauce, leaving them pretty bland. The ranch was decent, but nothing memorable. On the positive side, the pretzels were warm, soft, and easily the best thing we ordered. While I appreciated the fast service and laid-back atmosphere, the inconsistent food quality made this one a miss for me. Cool dive bar a block from the beach. I've never been to Ireland but it sure seems authentic on the inside. I ordered a hot dog with sauerkraut which was pretty darn good but the Irish Reuben the next day was tasty but mushy and greasy. The fries seemed like they were boiled in oil instead of fried. Their pepperoni is eatable but my my favorite. Nice friendly employees. I'd go there to drink but I would not order any chow until I was pretty lit up didn't care. read more

Served inedible chicken sandwich. Texture like chewing cartilage. I don't know if it was bad before it was cooked (maybe freezer burned throughout), but knew it was wrong from the first bite. Didn't swallow any of it - couldn't. Sent it back. They took it off the bill, but no apology from the server. Everything else about the place was fine. Guinness was very very good. Asked for a card and to close out before they would make them. After $150 1st round of shots they were nice enough to pour the second round of fireball with a watered down bottle that multiple groups questioned. Love this place. I great neighborhood bar and restaurant. We sat at the bar during Happy Hour. The bartender was very friendly and the drink prices during Happy Hour some of the best we have found in the Santa Rosa Beach area. The locals sitting at the bar were very welcoming and engaging. We had a fun time and will definitely return. Also had the smoked tuna dip appetizer which we both enjoyed. Looking forward to trying the corned beef and cabbage. read more

I first want to say that we are former service folks so we do understand being short staffed and take in consideration the post-COVID staffing issues. That being said I like to review my experience on the following, service, atmosphere, and food (taste and quality)! Service: You must seat yourself! Who knew?!? Once seated, we were greeted fairly promptly. We sat in a high top in the bar area because that was where everyone else seemed to be. We thought that would be easier on the waitress. Service was prompt on drinks, refills, and taking our order. Atmosphere: it is OK. Very sports bar feel (which is fine)! I wouldn't consider it family dining or Irish ! Other than offering "Irish inspired" drinks I didn't understand it! It is dark, it basically a bar that you can bring your family that has a kid game room.... Until 11:00 pm‼ Food: we ordered the tater tots nachos and pretzels as an appetizer and then a meatball sub and philly for our entrees. 1. The nachos came out approx 25 mins after we ordered . They were OK and would consider your typical bar food. The pretzels came out over an hour after we ordered. Also, they aren't really pretzels. It is just bread twisted without salt. We ate them because we were pretty hungry at this point. 2. It was over and hour and 15 mins after ordering that we cancelled our sandwiches. I would love to tell you about them but I cannot. When we ordered there were about 8 people at the bar and 3 tables filled at the bar. There were none in the dining area. I'll let you come to your own conclusions on the cause of the long delay on our food. We left hungry. Other observations! People came in after us and got their pizza and lots of to-go orders. They could have been swamped with pick up orders or maybe our order got lost. ‍. I am not sure and I wasn't sure I wanted to ask. I just know that it shouldn't have taken that long for the small amount of food we ordered! There was a bartender (our waitress) who was busting her butt. She had a fairly descent size crowd when we left (not when we got there) and little help. There was other people working there but I am not sure what they were doing other than watching the game and socializing with what appeared to be regulars. I hope to try this establishment again but may need to read a few more positive reviews and some changes prior to going back. read more

I can't attest to the atmosphere, as we just got food for takeout but the pizza was impressive. Looking for food after being stuck in traffic trying to drive into town, my sister found this place. I loved the pizza and the tater tots were good. They also ordered the soft pretzels, which I regret not eating now because the looked delicious. I have to say after living in LA and going into Irish pubs there (there was always an Irish accent somewhere ) it was a cultural shock to only hearing southern accents in a place decked out in Irish memorabilia. There's a side that's just video games and love the air hockey table. The food was good, it's even better after you've had your drinks. read more

Maybe I need to try it again, but it seems like a dive to me, and contrary to the way they promote it, it doesn't seem family friendly - unless you want to teach your kids how to smoke. If you describe a bar or club as a dive, you mean it is dirty and dark, and not very respectable. The food was underwhelming too. read more

McTighe's is the only bar/restaurant of its kind along 30A. Its a proper dive, open late, a long menu filled with bar food greatest hits done expertly, low priced drinks, a killer happy hour and wide selection of beer and liquor. This is a far cry from the hyped up 1/2 assed, overpriced slop both poured & served in the area. They don't crank up terrible music and they've got sports on all the time on 4 televisions. Service is friendly but not too friendly. Chicken wings, cheesesteaks and meatball sandwich are standouts but there truly are no duds on the menu and everything is from scratch. Nice mix of locals, regulars and tourists. Only drawback is long wait time for to go orders(don't call in orders) and the restrooms needs to be freshened up. read more

I'm Going against my rule of reviewing a joint on an impossibly busy day (like Mother's Day - no place should be overly scrutinized on an awful day). It's an Irish Bar - if there's such a thing as a divey/ neighborhood pub in these parts it's definitely this place. Prices are great compared to other local spots - not to normalville where most people live. For here - this is cheap. Only place open for miles so naturally they were understaffed and packed to the gills!! No one knows how busy they're going to be when everyone is supposed to stay inside. Hmmmm. We are new to Santa Rosa Beach, and heard from multiple people that they have the best wings in the area. My wife and I showed up excited to give them a try. Place was about half way full, and we stood at the door for a few minutes with zero help or guidance from the staff. Finally, a member of the staff walked by and said hello after sitting on his phone the entire time we were there. That was it I then go up to the bar to ask if we need to sit ourselves, and the very careless and rude bartender with long hair (in a ponytail) just said "yes you do". The food is decent, its got that old bar feel and smell, and the characters working the bar and waiting tables are a lot of fun. What makes me give them a 2Star Review is the draft beer. No matter which one you pick, the beer if flat and tastes "skunky". The tap system in this bar badly needs to be replaced. My friends and I come to McTighe's a few times a month and we have all transitioned to bottled beer but a draft beer is what we would all order if it didn't suck so badly. We are locals and had a terrible experience with a bartender named Lexi. We had an incredibly disappointing experience here. From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. Despite being in our mid-20s, the bartender immediately asked for our IDs in a rude and accusatory tone, as though we were underage. To make matters worse, she raised her voice at us, which was entirely uncalled for. After we complied, we waited for her to return so we could order. When we asked for the drink we've had on many previous visits, she brought it back as a shot. When we politely explained that this wasn't the drink we typically ordered, she insisted it was correct and dismissed our concerns. Hoping to clarify, we returned to the bar to explain how the drink had been made in the past, only to be met with even more attitude. She dismissively asked what other drink we wanted instead, showing no interest in resolving the issue respectfully. To make things worse, we were charged for three drinks--two of which we didn't even want. When we tried to address the charge at the end of the night, what should have been a simple fix turned into a 30-minute argument. What could have been a minor misunderstanding turned into a stressful and unpleasant experience due to the bartender's attitude and unprofessional behavior. We won't be coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone. So unfortunate being locals and can't come to our local bar...hopefully that will change. read more

I would give a zero based on tonight's visit. Cheesesteak was worst I ever had. They must be trying to cut some corners because of COVID-19. Only one person waiting on bar and all tables. I couldn't even taste the cheese on my cheesesteak. It was so dry. I've had the cheesesteak here before and I was pleased but not anymore. I live very close to this place but have never been. Mostly because it's a) a Steelers bar (gross) and b) it didn't look that appetizing considering all the other options I have. I decided to swing by late at night because I wanted wings and their menu says they are world famous. If these wings are famous, it's only because they are the most basic wings in the history of mankind. I've been to probably 100 places for wings in my lifetime. Not only are these wings not famous but they are not good. And they take 30 minutes when there's no one else ordering from the kitchen. Hate giving bad reviews, especially when a place is close by. I want it to be good. It's just not. And it makes me Angry that they put that their wings are especially good on their menu. B.S. If you are looking for a dive bar to get drinks late at night on 30-A, this place is fine and likely one of your only options after 10. Visited this pub for the first time on the evening of March 7 and was very impressed! Kaileigh and Tatianna, who worked together at a previous job where I was an occasional customer, do an outstanding job here! The homemade pretzel appetizer with marinara sauce was great and so was the Maine lobster bisque. Kaileigh also made my visit memorable by hooking me up with a free Johnny McTighe's T-shirt. Although I live more than two hours away in Alabama, I would definitely return at some point and try out other menu items. read more
