Six stars!!! St. Pete Beach Deli is a God send! Yelp reviews that good, in that volume don't lie. SPB Deli is located right across the street from Postcard Inn on the Beach where we were staying. On prior days, I must have passed by it a couple of times without realizing what it was. Very non-descript, so look for the Greek flag! It doubles as a deli and a market - everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to pints of Haagen Daz, to canned goods, pasta, deli sandwiches and some truly incredible Greek food. I can honestly say I had the best Gyro I've had in years - just perfect. The tzatziki was loaded with fresh dill fronds - cool, creamy, delicious. The Greek salad was massive and came with a big dollop of Greek potato salad on top. I ordered multiple side dishes to try, my favorite being the grilled eggplant slices (2 for $1) - savory, smoky and grilled perfectly. Stuffed grape leaves!! Geez! And I can't forget the Spanikopita - holy cow! Just amazing!! Throw in glass bottled Coke. Mmm! Heaven! An entire case of desserts! We had to get our Baklava and cannoli to go!! So stuffed! Literally the best Mediterranean food you can have! The prices are unbeatable, especially in a tourist spot. Everything is FRESH. The gyros are the best I've had. We also love the spinach orzo salad and tabouli (parsley) salad. Great Greek wine / beer selection at excellent prices (some of the best wines for $10 a bottle!) that we like to try occasionally. Stopped in over the weekend for a couple sandwiches around lunch time. A handful of other patrons inside, all of which seemed to be regulars. We read over the menu and went with tuna salad on wheat and a turkey/avo/provolone wrap. Staff was super friendly, we paid up (about $17 with a drink), and lunch was served up quickly. Both sandwiches were fairly simple, but had plenty of good flavors and lots of fresh veggies. The turkey wrap was slightly better but the tuna salad and wheat bread was solid. They also have a good variety of reasonably priced fresh produce and groceries. It's very much a Greek deli, and next visit I'll be sure to get a gyro and/or Greek salad.
