I have visited this shopping center a millions times in Largo and have never visited this restaurant yet. So my friend and I decided to stop here for lunch today. I got the Gyro wrap and my friend got the steak Panini with feta fries. We sat outside because it was a nice day so they brought the food out to us. And I was not expecting the pita to be as big as it was, but I was delightfully surprised, and it was just equally as delicious. Fun lunch spot in Largo if you are craving a gyro. The place is very clean with friendly service. I had the pick two, which is a great way to sample the menu. There is also an option to pick 3, but I was not that hungry. I chose the half Greek salad which was fresh and delicious. My second choice was a half of spanakopita. It was just okay. First time we tried Greek City Cafe but was looking forward based on the reviews. Today we did take out. My guy ordered his go-to gyro and loved it. The gyro meat was tasty but not salty. The vegetables were fresh and plentiful as was the meat. French fries were good even when reheated in the skillet. My Greek salad looked wonderful with iceberg and spring greens as well as chickpeas, chopped tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese and the Florida Greek salad staple, potato salad. Sadly the lettuce was past it's prime; wilted and soggy. The dressing was watery and tasteless. I'm certain if it was fresh it would have been delicious too. I took two pictures of the salad. The one in the bowl is shown with anchovies from home. The second in the to-go box after I had plated my salad. If only it had been fresh, this review would be five stars. The pita and tzatziki were good too. The four star rating is based on the type of establishment where you order your food at the counter. Went to try this place for the first time . Everything was nice except the service. We ordered our food and went to eat outside. My girlfriend went back inside to get a lemon to use on her food. She didn't see the tongs next to the lemons and used her fingers to grab the lemons that were on top in the little container. Well 3 minutes later a rude staff member interrupted our meal to tell her that there were tongs there and she brought the whole container outside and told us to take it home. Well that ruined our appetite and experience and we will never return. I've never had someone try to embarrass or belittle us like that before. Very Good for Fast Casual Greek City Café is surprisingly good. The atmosphere is a bit basic. The temperature was too cold, and the table was uneven. Staff were a little brusque. The food, however, is very good and quite reasonably priced. We each got the "pick 3" for only $12.99 each. Each meal had a large bowl of Avgolemono soup which was nice. Unfortunately, the soups were barely warm. I took them back and they microwaved them--all good. Each meal also had a sizeable salad--mine Greek and my wife's strawberry--both very good. And we also each had a grilled chicken breast which was nicely cooked and seasoned. I cut mine up and added it to my soup. It was a big and delicious meal for a great price. They were sold out of falafel so we got gyro meat, pita and hummus and half a spanakopita. The gyro meat came with tzatziki and the spanakopita had a sauce too. It was a nice portion and sooooo good and fresh. Nothing was greasy or stale. It all tasted like it was homemade. The hummus was so good! So excited for this new location and Greek fast casual that's new to me. Place was sparkling clean, food was super fresh and the employee (manager??) who took our order and served us was so accommodating and helpful. They offer pick 2 or 3 which lets you mix and match tasty items like soup, chicken, salad, etc. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, fresh and delicious. I was shocked - it was like someone cooked for you in their home. This didn't taste like the usual dry or rubber chicken you normally find with inexpensive Greek eats. The sauces and dressings were so good ... Salad was crisp - though not what we expected - had chick peas in it, which I've never seen on Greek salad. Could just be me??
