Holiday Inn Express is quickly becoming our go-to stay…read more We had a terrific experience at this hotel within 20 minutes of downtown Rochester. The hotel is renovated with the room and the basic amenities kept in decent condition. Our room had comfortable beds and included a kitchenette that was convenient for our multi-day stay. Complementary breakfast till 9:30 on weekdays provided a nice standard variety including warm cinnamon rolls, bacon/sausage & egg, yogurts & fruits. Freshly ground medium roast & decaf coffee were a nice touch from the machine. There are no restaurants in the hotel but options were nearby within short driving distance. The indoor pool included a hot whirlpool. The fitness room overlooking this had a full rack of weights for light workout. Both were minimally used but equipped with towels and sanitation station, respectively. The outdoor patio in the back of the hotel was clean and well-maintained. There are also charging stations on-site. Skip it or hit it? We were happy with our stay at Holiday Inn Express Rochester Webster and would consider again!

After my departure back home I check my bank statement and saw that this hotel charged me for something extra that totaled $323. I called the hotel to see what the charge was for and they said I was charged that amount because of a broken TV. I stated to the GM Alicia Stephenson that the TV was working fine when we checked out. We had that TV on the whole time up until we checked out. I told her it could've been the cleaning crew that damaged the TV while sweeping or wiping. Those cleaning crews are rushing to clean those rooms and could've not been careful and bumped the TV. They did not want to own up to it. I told her why would I come back to stay at the same hotel if I broke something? It's easier for the cleaning crew to blame the client that stood in that room because they don't expect the client to come back to the same hotel after checkout and they know we are tourists and they won't see us again. The cleaner doesn't want to get in trouble. I've stayed at many Holiday Inns all over the country and abroad and I am a IHG member. Never have I damaged anything in any hotel. They didn't even give me a courtesy call to let me know about the damage and didn't tell me they were going to charge me. That charge is unauthorized and I want my $323 refunded back to me and there is no proof that the TV was damaged by me. This hotel is managed by Buffalo Lodging Associates and I plan to escalate it to them as well. I have also escalated this with IHG. Reviews will be left on other sites as well. Only a dumb person would come back to stay at a hotel if they broke something on the first visit. I've attached a photo taken by the GM Alicia Stephenson.

Oooof. Where do I begin. This is a budget motel, I get it. It's the kind of place where the TV…read morein the lobby is probably stuck in either A&E Network or TNT. You know, it's fine. But not great. However, even for a budget motel, this is pretty rough and desperately in need of updating. Paint peeling, doors that somehow got wet and warped that they no longer close properly. Clean towels, but they still have visible stains. When I asked for extra towels one day, they said they were out. All they had was hand towels. Internet was available, but was so slow it wasn't usable even for email. At least that was included. There's more, but I won't get into it. The nights I was there there was some sort of power failure, so none of the keys worked and they had to be reprogrammed at each door. The staff did a great job under the circumstances, but this sort of place doesn't really inspire great customer service. Any one of these, or even a few of them - I would have given a pass. After all, it's a budget motel. But... all at once, no go. I

So it was a good choice to stay here in western New York. The Super 8 hotel brand has been good investment for those people who are on the road constantly, so I needed a place to stay at an affordable price. It was comforting to know that the Super 8 hotel brand is known for being just that, and definitely a place where you know you can trust. After checking out photos from yelp and hotels.com, I priced checked it and decided to stay here for 2 nights. It was better than the Holiday Inn Express, which was 1/2 mile from where I needed to be for the weekend spent in Webster. It was cheaper, although I was about 5 miles away. Still okay though. I found this place on hotels.com. It was one of the few hotel properties in the area that was around $65/night, so I booked it. Upon arrival, this Super 8 has seen better days, but it was adequate for what I needed. Only thing about this location is that I didn't see any elevator on site and they assigned me a room on the 2nd floor. Let me tell you, walking up a flight of stairs after finishing a 26.2 mile foot race earlier in the day is somewhat challenging! But it had to be done and done well. This Super 8 location didn't seem to have air conditioning. The overall experience here at this Super 8 location in Webster, NY was adequate, comfortable, and suited my needs. I booked a two bed type room and the room I acquired was generally clean and comfortable. It felt quite cozy and the ambiance was nice. I knew they have WiFi connectivity here, but didn't use it during my stay. Everything worked, including the television and the shower. Bed was comfortable and got in a good 7 1/2 hours both nights during my stay. The check in and out service was good and fast. I didn't get to participate in the complimentary breakfast, since I had obligations in the area on one morning and a 6am flight the next. Wish I did stick around for breakfast though. Super 8 tends to have pretty good breakfasts, even though it can be just cereal, juices, and some breakfast pastries. Complimentary is often a good thing these days! For the most part though, budget friendly hotels are the way to go and Super 8 leads the way by doing just that. Providing safe and comfortable hotel accommodations at an budget friendly prices makes me smile. It might not be the best hotel in the area, but if you are a budget conscious traveler, it was the better choice for my $$$. If you're in the area and need a place, consider this Super 8 hotel in Webster, NY. This Super 8 hotel is located at 2450 Empire Blvd in Webster, NY. They accept major credit cards upon check in, as well as asking for identification and your vehicle information. They have a private parking lot for most people who drive through the area. According to Google Maps, public transportation from ROC airport would take 5 hours to this hotel. Yikes!! Not sure if the hotel itself provides airport shuttle services though. Best bet would be to rent a car to save time, unless you have a lot of it on your vacation to Rochester / Webster. Uber and Lyft can be an option too. Can't complain really. Comfortable stay at an affordable price. That's what Super 8 hotels are known for. Check them out, if you are headed there for work or vacation. In my case, it's a little of both. 26.2 miles on foot is work! Lol 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 3.5 stars for the check in and out service. 4.0 stars for the room comfort and bed. 4.5 stars for the affordability / budget friendly aspect. Support local! I called them multiple times and texted with the staff to ensure that he was doing alright. I was told that he was "sad", but that he was doing fine and was alright." I retained the text messages to prove this. I left an emergency contact who was my nephew in the event he did not do well or became ill during his stay. My emergency contact was never called. When my husband and I picked him up, he was scared, confused, very dirty and seemed very dazed. I asked if they used any sedation on him and I was told "no" by the owner who identified himself as Tom. (this conversation was done through email) He told me that my dog was not a good fit for the facility. He told me he stayed in his kennel/suite and he had to be hand fed. He told me that his staff tried to clean him after his "accidents". My dog is perfectly trained and has never had accidents. We recently moved back to Rochester, NY from another state. In our previous state he was boarded multiple times and was enrolled in daycare. He NEVER had any issues at any prior establishment and was always returned calm, clean and happy. I feel responsible in some ways because I never was shown the facility beyond the front desk. Although the website has a photo of an outside area, when we picked him up and drove to the back of the building, there was no outdoor space or fenced in play area of any sort. I do not understand why they would have allowed my dog to suffer like that for 10 days without contacting me or my emergency contact. the only reason I can think of is that they wanted their full 10 day fee of $545. I would never leave my pet with this establishment.
