I have to start out by saying, if I could rate this man, his art, and his AURA a million out of a million, you better believe I would. As someone who has gotten only one other tattoo done before, I know first-hand that there is MANY tattoo artists who can be a d*ck!.. Where do I begin? Went to Odyssey to get a tattoo with my daughter to signify Kaneohe being our home as she was born there and I went to Castle High as a kid. First off, this review doesn't reflect anything negative towards Eddie, I'm just bummed he didn't do the tattoo and Chris did. Eddie is a cool dude and I think was being overly nice as he knew Chris lacked the ability. Hell he threw me a couple grams just because and twisted one up as a gift. I could list a few complaints about Chris, from estimating it'll take a couple hours when it took 6, or just not providing me any care instructions after other than "wash with anti bacterial soap for 3 days". What bothered me more was his underestimating of time to keep me in the chair as long as he could as if he was afraid I'll leave half way through. My daughter, who has much more experience than I did, said he had a very heavy hand. Her tattoo (Hawaiian islands) also needs touch up. Anyway look at the pictures, these were taken exactly 3 weeks from the time it was done. As you can see it's faded af. Will have to go get it redone now and pay more than the $550 I was charged for the tattoo. I was going to leave 1 star, but the owner does look like he's very talented so if you're going to go there, stick with Eddie. read more

I gotta say Eddie exceeded my expectations on this portrait tatt that Ive waited 3 yrs to do. Ive been following Eddies work for a couple years as I have someone else thats doing my back piece. Eddie does AMAZING portrait work and I knew when the time was right, I messaged him thru his IG page n instantly got a response back. Showed him what I wanted and where it was going n we went from there. Due to my work schedule I needed to reschedule once and Eddie was so accommodating to that! Fast forward to my appointment. Got there 15mins before scheduled and was immediately assisted as I was his very first morning appointment. The assistant did a temp ck, they were wearing their mask and had hand sanitizer readily available for you. The shop was clean. Normally my husbabe comes with me to my tatt appointments but couldnt make it :( I was a little nervous being the placement of the tatt but I gotta say, Eddie's style of tattooing and how detailed he is couldnt have made me any happier that I choose to have him do such a MEANINGFUL piece. I have the distinct pleasure of saying I've had more ink from this shop than any other shop, or artist. Eddie, the owner, is THAT good. He's known for his portrait work, and his reservation book proves that! And trust me when I say, he's absolutely worth the wait. Currently he's doing a Japanese piece on me. I've had at least 15 sessions with Eddie (and counting) and he's amazing. Here's what to expect from Eddie: He'll welcome you with open arms. You meet him once, and it's easy to call him a friend. He's warm, friendly, hilarious, has an infectious laugh. He's on time! I'm telling you - not all tattoo artists are on time. It's terrible when you've waited months for an appointment and the artist is an hour late for their own appointment! Not Eddie. He's there before you are every time. He's prepared! He's ready to go when you arrive. He's safe! He's always using brand new needles, and keeps his equipment clean and in tip top shape. And there's never a dull moment. I came here and got my ears pierced in Jan 2017 ... 4 months later one of my piercings was not healed properly ( it was painful to take the jewelry out and it hurt too much to put it back in myself ) I called for advice about what to do ( I was wondering if I should have the jewelry put back in or let it heal and repierce later) and the person at the shop said. .... something like .... I don't know - do whatever you want In my opinion that is an excellent example of poor customer service. If you have trouble with your piercing from this place you better look on Google for help or advice because the man at the shop that I spoke to did not seem to care. I still have more piercings that I want to get... and I'll go get them done someplace else. Hopefully this buisness can work on improving their customer service skills. He made us feel so comfortable and by the time we moved, Eddie became family. He is great at taking your own ideas and adding to them and making them better than you could think of yourself. My husband is also in the process of getting an entire musician portrait sleeve. Me and Libra have plenty of history, that man sleeved my arm. His work is the best I've seen and he had my loyalty until today. Anyways I payed my deposit of $150 and that is to go to my last session, understandable. I came down with a sinus infection and had to cancel my second appointment. I told him I'd reschedule for another day, didn't get a response. About a week later he texts me to come in, I explain I can come for an hour to continue the piece we started. I end up there for 2 hours and he worked on me for a total 1 hour and 40 minutes. He charges $160 per hour, which by those standards I'd be paying $256 for time spent plus gratuity. I ask what the damage is and his assistant shows me a paper and it shows $440. So I question it, His assistant tells me I need to re-deposit and that is an extra $100 today. I asked him what happened to my first deposit, He laughingly shaking his hands, oh that deposit is gone. So I look at my artist who is right next the both of us trying to figure out why he can't talk to me. So I ask him and he replied, You canceled on me earlier this week so that's gonna cost you and you're being charged $340 because there's a convenience fee since you walked in...... I looked at him and said you texted me to come in today, why would you charge me a $80 convenience fee? He replied, "I'm 5 seconds away from sending your head through that F***ing window. Now this man has spent over 15 plus hours on me. I saw him as a friend, but I was so shocked that he would talk down to me like that and humiliate me in front of all the people at the shop. I paid him $340 and told him he lost me as his client. read more

My rating is the lowest...lowest of all. I did'nt even want to put 1 star, but it made me. Eddie Diaz is a total rip off. My sister wanted to have a portrait done and Eddie had given me his hourly rate of what he charges. So I sent him a pic to go on my sisters forearm and asked him if it was going to take 1 hour. His response was "YUP" all in text messaging. We then went to the shop and confirmed it will be an hour and he said yes one hour because he needed to leave to go and stay at the Aulani Hotel. We then proceeded with the portrait and during that time he said he will give an even better deal. So when he was actually done I asked...ok how much? He then gave me a price that was almost triple what we had agreed on. Then I questioned it and he started yelling that I'm on crack and he did'nt give me the other price (Which is all in text) and I don't know what I'm talking about and calling me all kinds of names. YES...poor customer service. During our visit Eddie Diaz had made about 10 smoke breaks...and not cigarettes, it's Marijuana breaks. And another note there were 3 children under the age of 6 in his shop. This is a warning about his honesty...which he has none obviously. He is a total rip off. These guys are the real deal. Before I moved back to the islands, I only let one artist work on me, so I was really hesitant about finding a new artist for all my new pieces. My buddy told me about Odyssey and after my first visit I will never need to go to another tattoo parlor. The guys are always nice, super fun to be around, and always make my visits there feel like I'm going to see old friends. Their work is top notch.
