I requested an appointment at a different location and Yelp sent my request to several tattoo shops. Aloha Tattoo was the first to respond. So I went with them. Natalie hit me up via text. Very cool. Very personable. From the text conversation we had, she listened to every single thing I said I was looking for. We made the appointment and then she reached out again to confirm. Very professional. Upon arriving I was greeted very nicely. The shop is easy to find. Decent parking. The shop is clean. And the staff is is friendly. I used some numbing cream that wore off rather quickly. I am not a fan of pain. And Natalie was very understanding as well as accommodating my pathetic self. Lol. She let me break and breath when I needed to. She talked to me a little during the session to help ease my mind. She even rooted me on and motivated me to finish. Lol. I am very pleased with my tattoo. It looks great. Saw their booth at the Hawaii Tattoo Expo and they had great prices for what I wanted to get so I…read moredecided to get my third lobes and mid helix done. First off, EXTREMELY unorganized. All of their jewelry was stored in plastic containers where the employees were just digging through, without gloves (SO unsanitary), to find the jewelry that the customers wanted. I wanted titanium flat backs because I'm allergic to sterling silver and I don't heal well if it is pierced with steel. The girl who pierced me looked through all the containers before finding 3 gold colored titanium flat backs with silver colored titanium ball toppers. The piercing process started out okay, she cleaned off the area, although not very thoroughly, and marked where she was going to pierce and let me see before she started the process. I don't think they sterilized the jewelry before they pierced me either, even though different, ungloved, employees were digging around in the jewelry boxes just before. She opened a new needle and started on my lobes, these were pretty smooth. The biggest issue came when she started on my mid helix. Told me take a deep breath and she pushed the needle through, then went to guide the jewelry in, but could only get it HALFWAY. I heard her whisper "oh shoot" under her breath before proceeding to try multiple times to push the jewelry all the way through. She asked the other guy, Jay, for help and they both stood there pushing my ear around for a solid 3 minutes before the jewelry was fully through. It was a while before the piercing was done, I could feel the blood on my ear slipping around while he essentially tried to repierce it with the jewelry. Neither of them used a clamp, or even a tube to catch the needle as it went through to the other side, just used their hands which I could feel were slipping off my ear. To top it all off, my mom told me after that they used the same needle for all three of my piercings, super unsanitary! I've gotten thick cartilage piercings done before this (rook, nostril, helix) and I have NEVER had an experience like this. I will not be coming back here, not even for my jewelry changes. The only good thing I would say about this experience was that the lady at the front was polite and friendly, and the girl who pierced me was also nice, I just wish the process of the actual piercing was a bit cleaner and smoother. I hope nobody else has an experience like this, and I hope my piercings don't get infected.

I asked him if he could honor the price he quoted me months prior and he refused but offered to refund my deposits. I agreed to get my deposits refunded, but it is now JUNE and I have not yet received my refund. I have emailed him on multiple occasions & reached out via Venmo multiple times and he never responded. I DM'ed him on Instagram & his only solution was to talk to the tattoo shop owner. Spoke with the tattoo shop & they said they can't do anything since this appointment was made prior to Curtis' start at Keesh, which I completely agree. All in all, Curtis is completely unprofessional and lacks accountability and basic respect. DO NOT GET TATTOOED BY HIM.

I knew it was going to be a big task as I was planning an entire sleeve so I needed to make sure he was up for it and it was in his realm. The previous person I talked to said he was unable to so I wanted to make sure in person. When I went to see him, he rushed me through my explanation saying "yeah yeah, I can do it. No problem." I felt like he seemed confident so I decided to go through him. He made me pay a $150 deposit and we scheduled for a month out. He told me that 2-3 days before the appointment, he would send a pic to make sure we were on the same page and make any adjustments I needed. The day before, I still hadn't heard from him so I asked for a follow up picture. It took him a couple hrs to reply, likely because he hadn't thought about it yet. When he finally sent it, he chose like 2 pictures he wanted to do and they weren't even what I wanted prioritized, which I made clear at our consultation. I asked him to switch things around and he said it would look dumb to do it the way I wanted but he never mentioned that when I went to his office. He continued to put me down while I was trying to remain polite and tell him his ideas were good, just not what I was going for. Then he said he was unable to work with me (after talking for about 10 minutes) and refused to give me my deposit back because of the work he put in. Mind you, the "work" he put in was a photoshop of my arm and a couple pictures of his choosing that didn't quite give the vibe I wanted. I had no idea what his end goal was and he was completely rude. I feel like he takes advantage of people often because it was so easy for him to write me off. I will never go to him, nor recommend him. His Instagram is deeshuistyle and he goes by D. Shui. If you value having a good experience and great end product while being included in the decision to alter your body forever, then don't go to him. **EDIT: You definitely took my money and were unwilling to work with me. You may deal with endless clients and forget them, but I have only had tattoos by a handful of artists and I'll never forget someone who was completely rude. Maybe no one will listen to this review and maybe they will. Either way, I just want to help other unsuspecting potential clients make the right decision about their body.
