Run Free thanks to Off Leash Training

Off Leas training is AMAZING. Our family has had 4 dogs go through the training. All our trainers have been nothing but attentive to our needs as owners and patient and loving to our pets. We received videos and pictures durning the who 2 week process. They took our babies into their home and gave them just the right amount of structure combined with love to enable them to be the best version of themselves. After the dogs were trained the trainer trained us on how to ensure the two weeks "stuck". Because of off leash training I can take my dog anywhere and feel confident that she will be well behaved and socially accepted. All the trainers we worked with were GREAT - A special shout out to Michelle our most recent trainer. Maggie is an amazing addition to our family because you gave her the tools to be a good listener!

This is his neck with the burn lesions. It has healed a little, but I am not sure if hair will ever grow back.

I have a serious issue with OLK9 in Fredericksburg, VA and no one at this location or corporate will respond to me. I adopted a dog (Merle) from the Stafford County Animal Shelter mid February 2023. Merle is a 75 pound Great Dane/Pit mix. He would lose his mind when he saw other dogs by lunging, barking, whining, pulling, etc. There were a few times that it was so bad he actually took me down and dragged me. He did this a few times with my wife as well. We could not take him for a walk during the day because of this. He also did this when children were outside playing. He was on constant patrol in the house barking at everything that went by the house and it took him several minutes to stop. He would run back and forth from the front room windows to the living room windows. I reached out to the local OLK9 and spoke with their sales person, Cari I believe because on the paperwork it stated that Merle was trained via OLK9 in the B&B program with a trainer named Marla. I informed her of this information to include the previous training and all she told me was I needed to pay $975 for 8 weeks of dog aggression training. She did not acknowledge that he was previously trained by OLK9 or even took the time to look up his record. I paid the amount because I desperately needed help. I have two other dogs that this is affecting as well. I have trained many dogs, but he is by far the most difficult. I set up the first session for March 5th, 2023, but could not schedule anything again until April 5th, 2023 and then again late May 2023. This was not going to work. Sessions this spread apart are not productive so I reached out to Cari again. She told me that I just need to keep watching the calendar for openings. Why would a company take on new clients if it could not provide the necessary appointments in a timely manner? At that rate it would take 8 months to train. He went to his first session and the trainer went over the "basics" to which Merle had mastered. We told him about his previous training and he ignored it as well. It was a total waste of time. I tried a few more times over the course of 1-2 weeks but could not get anything sooner. I reached out but no one would respond. I sent an email on to corporate stating that I wanted to talk to someone or wanted my money back. Someone (I cannot recall his name) finally called me back only because I wanted my money back. We spoke for a few minutes and he set me up with a trainer named Austin. Austin was amazing. He was responsive, nice, good at training, etc. We set up the first session which was the same as the first and talked about the remaining sessions. I attempted to schedule the remaining sessions with Booksy but I could not. Austin had to schedule each one so we had to communicate times and places the old fashion way. Austin is the only reason I can even say anything positive about this company. During the course of the remaining sessions my family and I worked with Merle consistently between each session. Merle did great without distractions, but as soon as he got outside it was all lost. My son reached out to the previous owner for puppy pictures and to ask about Merle's behavior. This is when we were told about B&B. There is a lifetime guarantee with this program, but yet here I am paying another $975 to train him. I reached out to Joe at Offleash in Fredericksburg about this and asking what options I have. This was on April 26th and I am still waiting for a response. There was no before and after video. No check ins with the owner. Nothing. It is one of the worst experiences have had with a company and to add insult to injury, I still have a dog that is near impossible to walk and barks at absolutely everything all times of day and night. His neck major burn lesions from using the collar and I was told it is pressure sores. He is missing hair and has significant scabs in the places where the two leads would sit. And yes, we would move it every 2-3 hours to prevent pressure point sores. Approximately $4,000 was spent to train this dog and I still cannot bring him outside or even walk him when people are out there. I have bruises all over my legs from the leash because he wraps himself around me trying to get other dogs and people. I cannot open windows because he will jump through them to get to the dogs. I have 8 foot doors that he will charge when he hears something and then proceed to jump at it. His head goes past the 8 foot mark almost touching the 9 foot ceiling. Yesterday he actually lunged and snarled at my neighbor. He is a huge safety risk at this point and I partly blame Offleash for taking the previous owner's money and also mine without any progress or communication. At this point I want a full refund so that I can hire a training company that will actually help me and not just take my money.

Danny was easy to work with. He was very understandable of the behavioral issues we were having with our dog. He was also very honest as to how this training would work and what areas may be more of a challenge. We are happy with our results. Our dogs behaviors have improved drastically and we have the hope we didn't have before. We definitely recommend OLK9 training for anyone looking into having their dog properly trained.

Puppy

Basic training was exactly what my pup and I needed. My trainer Dean ensured my pup had the right collar and answered all my questions. Lessons were simple and easy to replicate when on my own with my big pup. Looking forward to the advance classes but my whole family is enjoying my Rotti for the amazing lovable puppy he is!

Somebunny loves treats

We have had 5 dogs raised and trained them but this 6th one a puppy was full off energy like the others but far more stubborn then we have experienced. So much at 6 months she became hypersensitive to wheels, kids running and jumping on the trampoline you know that dog. She had hurt a neighbor kid when we were out of town during her spazing moments to get the kids. That was when I called OffLeash. She was there 1 week and hurt her elbow and came home to heal for 2wk and was a different dog! Just from that time. I was amazed. She still had time to finish and returned to complete and graduate. She does get anxious when the kids run but she will sit and watch now. She is scared of new places and dogs! Now before I go into a new place I get her focused and I'm in control she is fine. I do not allow interactions with people until I have can tell she is comfortable then I let her choose what she wants to smell or who she wants to pet her. She is not 1yr till April 2023 we went to rite aid as my goal is working to be a therapy dog. She was focused stayed in formation which she has a hard time when walking but in the store she was close and on que with her auto sit when I stop. Another new place was visiting the army Base to see our son she hasn't seen in 2 months. Again perfect. She only became scared when a group of 50 came by at the same time and a few tries to pet her. My dogs are my family I have 4 kids but my dogs are still my kids. I do not like shock collars but the newer ecollars are not those its like the tense unit used for physical therpy. I love my puppy my kids love our puppy and kids feel safe to run again. It was a investment but when I was the one left to train her and clean up after her anxious moments of distruction it was worth every penny. Our dog is happier too. I'm in no way affiliated with offleash I happened to Google aggressive dog training. Amanda was amazing and kept in touch and still does.

Prior to signing up with All About Dogs, they took a ton of time answering my questions and allowing me to observe a class and talk with their trainers to make sure the class would be an appropriate fit for him. Most reactive dog classes would disqualify him because he is reactive to strangers, and that human reactivity is something we have found many trainers will not work with. I was, and remain, impressed by their thorough and honest assessments of each dog as an individual, their ability to see the potential in their students, and their celebration of every milestone reached along the way. Pam and Colleen also have worked with us individually to do a behavior assessment with my dog and determine his needs within and outside the classroom setting. We received an 8 page document from that assessment, full of straightforward and thoughtful insights, tips, and continued management strategies. The trainers are kind, compassionate, and never push my dog farther than he can go for the sake of seeing progress or immediate results, which has been critical to genuinely helping him get better. We consulted with several other trainers and did a few private sessions with others before finding All About Dogs, and my only wish is that I had found them sooner. My hope is that we will be able to continue making progress and eventually "graduate" from Rowdy Rovers to their Levels Training, and I do feel confident that with time and continued work, we will be able to. Dog Training is an unregulated field, and anyone can call themselves a trainer. The difference with All About Dogs is they have years and years of science based education and certifications to support their passion for helping dogs and their people. Both Pam and Colleen hold CPDT-KA certifications and all their methods are positive and force free. I am so grateful to have found them and look forward to continuing learning with them. Another interesting note is that both Pam and Colleen are regular presenters at the annual APDT (Association for Pet Dog Trainers) conference, a testament to their knowledge and experience in the field of dog training!

From the initial consult with Kenzie, we felt very comfortable with how she approached training and her experience. When Charlie came back after 4 weeks, it was such a big change! No longer did we have to worry about leash pulling, picking up trash on walks, and being overcome with excitement whenever guests would visit. We can now enjoy our dog all of the time. We take her on long walks, she joins us at restaurants and events around the neighborhood, and overall is a much better behaved dog without losing her personality. Controlled K9 came to our home to evaluate her and recommended a four week board and train to work on basic obedience, leash manners, and off leash recall. We loved that she was taken in as a member of the family during her "boarding school," and they provided regular photos and updates on her progress throughout. She returned to us her same happy, sweet self in the house, but basically a new dog on leash! The Controlled K9 team trained us on how to continue her training, and remained super responsive to our follow up questions. Passing cars on walks yielded barking and lunging, doorbells ringing, more barking. We tried some "do-it-yourself" online things with zero success, and realized actual one-on-one training was the only option. Enter Tommy from Bark-Busters. His initial three-hour in-home training course was amazingly effective, so much so the change in Buddie was almost night and day to us. Upon meeting Buddie for the first time, Tommy immediately knew the kind of sensitive dog Buddie was and tailored his training to suit. His techniques were easy to understand and master and can be practiced anytime we're with Buddie. No more barking when the doorbell rings, or when a car passes, or a stranger approaches. Buddie's a lot calmer now which is more in keeping with his overall sweet nature. Highest recommendation!

I was heartbroken and honestly starting to feel like I'd failed him. What Tommy brought into our home was a complete shift in perspective. He didn't just train the dogs--he taught us how to create structure, set clear expectations, and restore calm. After just the first session, our house felt noticeably different. The tension was gone, the barking and toy-fighting stopped, and even our older dogs--who had been keeping their distance--seemed relieved. What really makes Tommy stand out is the continued support. He's incredibly responsive, provides real tools and a step-by-step plan, and genuinely checks in on your progress. The Lifetime Guarantee is a huge comfort--knowing we have ongoing access to help if new issues arise takes so much pressure off. We're still working through things, but the difference already feels like night and day. I can't recommend Tommy highly enough--he gave us back peace and hope.

After checking out a few trainers, I got together with Brian at the Backyard Pack for some leash training for my dog. They (Brian and Laurie) worked with him a bit while he was being boarded, then met with me to teach me how to work with him. Duke pulls a lot on leash, and barks furiously at distractions (other dogs, runners, bikers, squirrels...) For an extremely reasonable price, they came to my house for a session. They brought another dominant dog who they were training, so the dogs could be walked together. They walked us right up to distractions, and showed me how to handle his panic both before he reacts, and after, if he does react. I feel like I finally have the tools I need. Duke's improved a lot. He's still a work in progress, but we have way more good walks than bad ones now. They sent me a list of tips, followed up with me, and are available for me to ask follow up questions via e-mail. I'm happy because they've helped me to control his behavior, not just distract him with food.
