Stopped in just before the lunch rush and I thought this spot was pretty tasty. I like the casual atmosphere and that you can order your food at the counter but they deliver it to your table. We tried this place when they first opened and it was ok. We decided to try again. I had 2 grilled fish tacos. It was excellent! They had plenty of fish in them. The sauce they had on the taco's was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband had Al Pastor tacos without cilantro. His taco's were tasty. You can eat inside or out. Clean and delicious. Called in two carne asada burritos to go. Pretty good size and overall tasty, but they could have used a bit more meat. Some of the carne asada pieces were a little fatty and chewy, but I only got a few like that. It was very busy inside when I picked up the order. Overall, a solid burrito. One had the shrimp torta, two had burritos, and I had the 3 quesabirria tacos. We also got a generous portion of chips and salsa. The meat was tender and juicy and the tacos were fried to a nice crisp. On the inside of the tacos there was gooey melted cheese (jack?), small diced onions, and finely diced cilantro. It included a side of consommé juice to dip the tacos in. It was just the right amount of hot. Where the temp stayed the same till the last bite. THE best Quesabirrias!!! This review is almost a year overdue. We stopped here on our way back from Santa Barbara heading back to the bay. By the luck of God, we randomly stumbled upon this place in search for Mexican food, and man, it not disappoint! Hands-down, the best quesabirrieas we have ever tried ever! The dipping sauce was the most fresh, flavorful sauce of any! And the Quesabirria taco meat were full of flavor and cooked to a crisp golden perfection!! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat before going to do some wine tasting and found this wonderful gem! This place has been here for 2 years and hopefully it continues to be here. Front first glance you can tell is popular from all the people eating inside and outside. They had a $2 taco Tuesday and so I decided to have some tacos, I ordered an Al pastor, carnitas and Chile verde taco. All were delicious, my husband had 3 of the Al pastor and he also liked them. I also ordered an horchata, and you can tell it's home made, it was sweet and creamy. We also ordered some chips and salsa and a side of beans. All of it was delicious and legit. Terrible !! I ordered a fish taco plate and sat down to wait. A couple and a woman that ordered after me got their meals.I asked the man working What happened to my food he walked away and came right back and said that he had given mine to the lady who ordered after me then he walked away again. He came by later. I asked him if I could talk to the manager and he told me the manager wasn't there and I said well, are you bringing my food out and he walked away again, so I walked over to the kitchen and there was a man standing in the kitchen I asked if he was making fish tacos and he said no talk to the other guy. What a gem in an otherwise underwhelming shopping center! I'm so thankful for Yelp, otherwise I wouldn't have discovered this place. The vibe is super casual and the interior is small with a large kitchen and long bar with lots of counter seating. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We were greeted immediately & placed our order soon after. We both got the street tacos entree which comes with 3 tacos, rice and beans. My husband also got a burrito bowl and we ordered 2 horchata which were excellent btw, a total treat. The tacos are good. Went to this place recently and we were very disappointed in the food and service. We've had better experience in the past, but this was way off. Ok, maybe I shouldn't have tried fish and chips at a Mexican restaurant? It was terrible! I thought they are almost at the coast, it'll be good. The cashier said they were good. It was like the pieces of fish were in brown paper. Just not good. My wife had the carnitas burrito- great! My daughter had fish tacos, ok, they were cold. We have tried this new restaurant 3 times now so I'm going yo review it. There is outdoor patio seating, usually shady because of the south orientated building. Inside seating and a bar area. Small place, cute decor, bar, tables. First time I ordered some carnitas tacos. Good but the taco shells are the small ones, not normal size you usually get so I was disappointed based on paying a normal taco price. I also ordered the chile verde plate and loved it. Next time I ordered chicken nachos and chile verde plate and a cheese quesadilla. All good. Dec 14 I ordered 2 chile verde plates. At pick up there was one do he had to correct it and I had to wait. I expected something extra for my trouble but nothing was thrown in. Total $39. Sadly this time I got home and there was no delicious verde sauce on my pork! Really a bummer! Love verde sauce! Review would be 4 stars if not for the Dec 14th visit. The main guy. Manager or Owner, , IDK was on top of things. Training a new female server who seemed overwhelmed. But he was really trying to check in everything happening and facilitate orders with a smile! I will tell him about missing verde sauce next time I call in an order.
