Let me start off my saying the service was great! And the iced tea was delicious. However, the food was not my favorite. The enchilada had mozzarella cheese which was a surprise.

Delicious Mexican food. Service was very nice. We went on a Monday night. Found parking in town. Limited seating in the restaurant but a short wait. We had chicken enchiladas (delicious), shrimp Diablo (spicy and delicious) and cheese quesadilla (good). Their complimentary chips and salsa were also good. We will be back

Right across from The Piccolo Hotel, Habaneros is a (not so hidden) gem. Their staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is even better. We can't say enough good things about the chicken enchiladas were perfect. Two accompanied with rice and beans, the chicken was fantastic and plentiful. The taco salad was a large, secretly bottomless dish. Highly recommend the al pastor on top. The hidden rice and beans on the bottom give it a little extra flavor. Definitely an easy visit and perfect for an afternoon mean with no fuss.

Food was great! We ordered enchiladas and taquitos. They were both incredible and we would go again if we weren't traveling. The service was great and the food came out pretty fast. The most confusing part was the emptiness of restaurant. There wasn't a single customer there when our family walked in.

I'm embarrassed to admit that this was my first visit in the 10+ years I've been visiting Paso. We had been craving tacos all day after a wine tasting server commented on how well Grenache pairs with tacos, so while other folks were watching the end of the holiday light parade we made an early exit for said tacos. I opted for shrimp enchiladas with verde sauce and was not disappointed. After a long day of tasting, this hit the spot. This is the kind of Mexican that I used to get all the time in North Carolina but is oddly hard to find in Southern California. Staff were friendly, and although small, the restaurant was very clean and cozy. Will return upon my next visit!

Super friendly staff. The chips and salsa were great! Had chile verde with flour tortillas and the pork was well seasoned and very tender. The rice and beans were good too. Green sauce was absolutely delicious!

Fish tacos. So good. I already ate one. This place has the best authentic Mexican food. The best service as well.

Service is great and your order comes quick. I've tried most of the dishes on the menu. All were delicious.

Food is very "Americanized". Very tomatoe-type sauce with mozzarella of all cheeses. Been here before. Things are going south.

I love it when someone serves me basic food right! We also had grilled fish plate which came with beans, rice, grilled fish and salad. This fish was grilled perfectly but it was bit bland. They have their own parking lot to the side so if you can't find parking, park there. We ordered take out and even with the 17 min drive back home, the tacos still tasted fresh. I can't imagine what it would be like if we dine in. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting PR! Well worth the visit

Not knowing where to eat on Good Friday, we decided to try a small hole-in-the-wall spot after…read morereading several positive reviews. There are a few things worth noting. First, the restaurant is quite small with a very quiet atmosphere--surprisingly so, especially with a jukebox that wasn't in use. The space didn't feel particularly clean, and the chairs were outdated and could definitely use some refurbishing. When we received the menus, I was honestly shocked by the prices. This is something I wish more reviewers had mentioned. We ordered a shrimp tostada (about $13) and shrimp fajitas (around $24). The shrimp tostada was disappointing--the shrimp was chopped so finely that it was hard to tell it was even there. It was overwhelmed by cucumber, tomato, and cilantro. The fajitas were similarly underwhelming: the shrimp were cut in half and curled up, with maybe around ten pieces total, but there was an excessive amount of large-cut onions and bell peppers, which made the dish less enjoyable. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the horchata we ordered was excellent. I did mention that the bell peppers were overabundant and cut too thick, but my feedback didn't seem to go anywhere. One concern I had was seeing staff handle multiple tasks--taking payments, cleaning tables, and serving food--without ever noticing handwashing, which was a bit off-putting. I'm not completely writing this place off, as I'd like to return and try their breakfast. Most reviews are positive, so perhaps this was just an off night. Still, given today's prices, I expect the quality to match. Beans were bland and rice was cold, I'm sure made way ahead of time. I'll update my thoughts after a second visit--judge for yourself in the meantime.

The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Paso Robles, making it an easy stop if you're exploring the area. We had reservations through OpenTable and arrived a little early. They seated us within a few minutes, and although outdoor seating was available, it was around 97°, so we were happy to wait for an indoor table. The inside has a really cool Spanish hacienda vibe with rustic wood beams, warm lighting, and plenty of unique décor to take in. It's a fun space with lots of character and is connected in the back to the tiki bar next door, making it easy to continue the evening with a drink. The atmosphere was lively without being overly loud, and we really enjoyed the classic '80s music playing softly in the background. The oysters were fresh and very good. My wife ordered the ceviche and enjoyed it. I had the hanger steak salad--it was decent, but I'd probably skip the beets next time and order something different. Overall, the food was good, but it didn't quite rise to the level of "great." Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Fish Gaucho is worth a visit for its downtown location, unique Spanish-inspired atmosphere, and solid food. While there are probably stronger culinary options in Paso Robles, we'd happily come back to enjoy the ambiance, check out the connected tiki bar, and sample a few different menu items.

Tucked into the corner of a Starbucks location, this cute little spot is small but super inviting--and definitely lives up to the hype. As soon as we walked in, the place was clean and filled with the delicious smell of spices and fresh food. I ordered the chilaquiles (not listed on the menu, but they'll make it for you with your choice of meat or traditional eggs for the same price). I went with chili verde, and wow--I was not disappointed. It was loaded with meat, sauce, cheese, cilantro, onion, and sour cream. Absolutely worth the $13, and I'd 100% order it again--next time with al pastor! We also tried the chicken enchilada plate ($13), which was just as good. Great flavor, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and it came with rice and beans on the side. For drinks, they've got a wide selection, including alcoholic options. I grabbed a Jarritos--just a heads up, they're $3.50 each, a bit pricey, but ice cold and refreshing. Overall, this place was a hit for us. The waitress, Erma, was friendly, polite, and attentive--which, let's be honest, isn't always easy to find. The restaurant is clean, has plenty of seating, and judging by the steady flow of customers, it's definitely no secret anymore! Give it a try and see for yourself--I'm pretty sure you'll love it too.
